Negotiators are expected to arrive in Egypt on Monday for talks centered on the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and a comprehensive end to the war, according to recent reporting from The Guardian. This comes after Hamas said on Friday that it has accepted some elements of President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. This reportedly includes relinquishing power and releasing any remaining hostages.
"This is a big day," Trump said in a video released Friday evening from the Oval Office. "We’ll see how it all turns out. We have to get the final word down in concrete."
"An Agreement must be reached with Hamas by Sunday Evening at SIX (6) P.M., Washington, D.C. time," Trump wrote last week on social media. "Every Country has signed on! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER."
