00:00Nick is in Plymouth today with Burt Breer. Hey, Nick.
00:03Hey, guys. Earlier you were talking about the old May trying to either know when to run or know when to throw.
00:10How do you guys think the development of him just trying to throw it away when he knows neither is available?
00:15It seems like he's trying to make a play way too often and just getting back to the line of scrimmage
00:19and constantly sliding and possibly putting himself in danger.
00:23I think his sliding's gotten pretty good.
00:25But he's saying he needs to be more cautious about when he should try to make a play and when he should quit the play.
00:33I thought there was one. Oh, God.
00:35It's the fumble against the Steelers, right? Isn't that it?
00:38Well, okay, so he did that a week ago. Same situation here. He took the sack this past week.
00:43Just huddle it up. Kick it away. Let's go. Live the play another day.
00:47He's trying to be perfect. Part of it as a quarterback, like, you never want the ball to hit the ground.
00:52Right.
00:53You don't want to just throw the ball away. Just throw the ball away because I can't see.
00:56You know, because it doesn't look right. I'm just going to throw it away.
00:59Yeah.
00:59No.
01:00I'm going to push it.
01:02He's playing well.
01:04Yeah, he's playing really well.
01:05It's coming. It's coming.
01:06It's coming.
01:06Which is, I think, pretty remarkable too considering, like, this is his fourth offensive system in four years.
01:13This is his fourth play caller in four years.
01:15Like, there's a lot that you have to untangle when a quarterback's going through that.
01:19And, I mean, the last time he was a starting quarterback in consecutive years with the same play caller was in high school.
01:26Yeah, and that's when he told me that's the last time he called a play in the huddle.
01:29Yeah.
01:30This time, last summer in a production meeting, he said, last time I called a play in the huddle, I was 17.
01:35Right.
01:35Just try to get used to the huddle right now.
01:37Yeah.
01:37Like, what?
01:37Yeah, and that's sort of where a lot of these guys are coming from.
01:41It's their entry point.
01:42It's what we've talked about at receiver where you kind of have to meet these guys where they're at to some degree.
01:47And, yeah, I mean, I think you have to be really impressed with, like, just the command he has considering all of that.
01:53And, yeah, I mean, I think you have to be really impressed with, like, just the command he has to be really impressed with, like, just the command he has to be really impressed with.
