00:00Bert, how are you feeling about the Patriots' offense and Drake May at this point in time?
00:04Were you happy with their week of 370 yards of offense and five turnovers?
00:09Because McCone is thrilled.
00:10He's happy about it.
00:12Pirillo.
00:13They're all seeing great leaps and improvement, and they're loving it.
00:17I mean, I think you're seeing development.
00:19Like, the player development piece of it, I think, is what you have to be excited about.
00:23Like, that, all right, they're getting more out of the tight ends.
00:28You know, the run game hasn't been consistent, but we've seen flashes from it.
00:33Ramondre ran well before he, like, ran into the problem where he can't hold on to the ball again.
00:39And I think the quarterback looks good.
00:41Like, I think I would be really encouraged with the progress that I've seen just in how fast Drake is playing week one to week two, week two to week three.
00:51You're seeing the flashes.
00:52Like, you're seeing.
00:53And, I mean, like, what I mean by that is, like, everything, nothing looks hard for him.
00:58You know what I mean?
00:59Like, it doesn't look, every throw looks like he's capable every time he tucks it and runs.
01:06I'll tell you what it looks hard for him.
01:07It looks smooth.
01:08Like, it's just, it doesn't.
01:10Now.
01:11Can't connect with a slot receiver.
01:12A slot receiver has three catches through three weeks.
01:14So, that's one thing that's, I think, going to be interesting to watch here, is the rookie receivers, how much are they going to play?
01:25And I felt this, like, and this is, like, I think one of the most fair questions about Josh's offense is, if you look at that offense, and this isn't just Josh, but Bill O'Brien, Charlie Weiss, how many rookie receivers produced here in that offense?
01:41Because, Malcolm Mitchell, Deion Branch, is that it?
01:45And their best receivers, a lot of their best players were guys they either inherited, Troy Brown, or guys that came from somewhere else.
01:53Danny Amendola.
01:54Randy Moss.
01:56Wes Welker.
01:57Or guys that took three years to develop, which is Julian Edelman.
02:00Julian Edelman, right.
02:01Hogan.
02:02I mean, like, that's the thing.
02:03Came from elsewhere.
02:04Like, even, like, you look at the guys who had, like, one-year blips.
02:07Like, Brandon Lloyd was a good player, like, here for a year, right?
02:10Brandon Cooks.
02:11LaFell.
02:11Right.
02:12Like, those guys were all coming from other places.
02:14So, have you gotten the offense to a point where rookies can contribute and contribute right away?
