00:00It came about on the back of my own journey around mental health.
00:03I lost my best pal to suicide 14 years ago and went through this journey of getting some professional support,
00:10which was brilliant, having this group of mates that kind of looked after me and took me out for a brew and a beer
00:16to listen to what was going on, not necessarily to fix it, but just to be there for me.
00:22And I kind of went, you know what, this is something that needs to be a conversation when we're doing OK
00:28rather than at a point of challenge.
00:31It needs to be something that we can all play a part in.
00:36And how can we actually do something that allows us to support the people that we care for
00:40that might be going through some of this stuff?
00:42How do we make this really stigmatised topic more comfortable?
00:47It was trying to create something where we could bring all the things that we've done over the last five years into one space.
00:56So our training is very much around how do we start some conversations around this subject,
01:01but how do organisations, whether that's a school or a business or a charitable organisation,
01:06how do they create cultures of care within their organisation?
01:10How does this work when we are not in the building?
01:13Because that's how it works.
01:14That's how it becomes sustainable.
01:16It's how it becomes natural.
01:17And we wanted to create that.
01:19How do we create our own culture of care where people can come in and enjoy the space,
01:24whether that's coming for a beer because we've got a bar, whether it's coming and co-working,
01:28whether it's using the podcast studio or coming to an event.
01:30How do we engage with people in Burnley so they can come through the door
01:36and benefit from this healthy space that we've created?
01:40So yeah, it's for your one-man band, it's for your sole trader,
01:44but it's equally for your larger business that maybe just needs to get out of the office
01:48and be in a different environment to think differently with the team or be creative.
01:52And yeah, the bar's named after my mate because I wanted to do something along those lines,
01:58but I wanted a hub.
02:00I mean, I love Burnley.
02:01It's where I've always grown up.
02:02How do we create something healthy in this town for people to access?
02:09And I think that's what we've done.
