New neighbourhood facility expands adult mental health support in the city

00:00Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has taken possession of a new neighbourhood mental health centre on Golden Hillock Road, relocating services from a temporary GP based site.
00:15The centre supports adults in Small Heath, Heartlands and Bordersley Green, bringing together psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, peer support workers and community organisations.
00:27According to the Trust, 1,000 adults have used the service since it began operating in 2025.
00:34The model focuses on access, offering crisis support, short stay beds and outreach delivered beyond clinical settings.
00:42Facilities include six bedrooms, living areas, a kitchen, prayer and meditation space and accessibility throughout the building.
00:50The Trust says the centre operates and works alongside 13 voluntary community, faith and social enterprise partners.
00:58Redevelopment of the site was delivered with construction partners and patients are now transferring from the previous location.
01:06Eligibility is based on postcode and information is available through official Trust channels.
01:13The Trust says the service is designed to complement existing NHS provision.
01:19Service users can also register for an online patient portal to view care information, appointments and updates securely at any time.
