00:31And that offensive line we were just raving about had a tough time picking it up.
00:36They did.
00:37They showed blitz.
00:38And so Taylor Decker, he blocked down and it gave a free run.
00:44Then on golf.
00:45And you can make the argument, Russell, that that was helmet to helmet.
00:49It was close to helmet to helmet, but he stayed a little low.
00:52I'm not surprised they didn't call it.
00:54Third down and 10 with the ball sitting at the 25.
00:56I'm in Ross St. Brown.
01:01Well played by the Ravens.
01:02And the Lions do nothing with a ball.
01:05Make Wiggins made that stop.
01:09And the clock will stop with a minute five remaining as the Ravens will take a timeout.
01:15No gain on that play.
01:20Stay tuned for the All-State Halftime.
01:23SVP Ryan Clark, Jason Kelsey.
01:26First half takeaways from our game.
01:28And Boomer has his fastest three minutes on what was just a crazy day yesterday around the NFL.
01:33Nine defensive or special teams touchdowns this week, most in five years.
01:45Almost had one tonight, if not for Jake Bates, as Jack Fox will punt it.
01:51Wester waiting for it.
01:54Flag is down.
01:57Wester on the return.
01:58And he gets dropped after he crossed the 40.
02:07Holding.
02:08Kicking team number 15.
02:10That 10-yard penalty would be out at the end of the run.
02:13First down.
02:14Timeout.
02:14They get Grant Stewart with a hold, and it'll be great field position for the Ravens.
02:2256 seconds left.
02:24A couple of timeouts.
02:27The Inner Harbor here in Baltimore, Maryland.
02:30Ravens ball under a minute to go.
02:32First half.
02:32Down seven.
02:33Give you a look at the hold by Stewart as he grabbed Jake Hummel, who was coming through.
02:47Hummel blocked a punt against the Browns last week.
02:50Yeah, I think he would have had a second one tonight if Stewart doesn't come over and tackle him.
02:56Although, Russell Yerke doesn't seem to think he did anything wrong.
03:02He does not.
03:03After the return of the penalty, the punt nets just 24 yards.
03:09So, starting in Lions territory, Jackson, there he goes.
03:14First down and out of bounds.
03:16Two timeouts left.
03:1848 seconds on the clock and a first down.
03:21The Ravens, who came up empty the last time they were down close.
03:25Well, just take a look.
03:26Everybody's in man coverage, so they have their back to the quarterback.
03:29And that's, you know, that's the weakness of a man coverage defense.
03:33And when you're facing Lamar Jackson, it doesn't even matter if you have a spy on him, which they don't.
03:38Yeah, he's not going to be as fast as Lamar is.
03:41So, you know, Kelvin Shepard, he's sticking to kind of their DNA, and that is play physical man coverage.
03:48But Lamar Jackson able to get a nice play.
03:51On first down.
03:53Jackson.
03:55Ducking around in a pocket, and now out to his right, he finds his running back, Justice Hill.
04:04And Hill, with a nice gain, is Lamar Jackson.
04:07He can extend to play better than anybody in the NFL.
04:10That was a gain of four.
04:11Yeah, it's just hold on if you're back there in the secondary.
04:15And, you know, that's the challenge for Kelvin Shepard.
04:19Again, first-time defensive coordinator.
04:22Very impressive guy in visiting with him.
04:25He's been with the organization for the last several years with Dan Campbell.
04:29He learned under Aaron Glenn.
04:30Says Steve Spagnuolo is the guy who's influenced him the most.
04:34But whether it's him or Aaron Glenn, he learned from two aggressive defensive coaches.
04:40Second down and six.
04:44Sideline.
04:45Hopkins.
04:46Catch is made.
04:47And a 13-yard completion for a first down.
04:54He does such a great job.
04:56Once he gets to the sidelines, he just stood there.
04:59You know, a lot of younger receivers will take off running and not knowing exactly what their quarterback might be thinking.
05:07Hopkins got over to the sidelines.
05:08He just stopped and then waited for Lamar to find him and made what is pretty routine for him.
05:25Jackson.
05:26End zone.
05:27A lot of contact and a flag.
05:29Hopkins and Tarion Arnold.
05:32And it's against Arnold.
05:39Yeah, I'd like to take a look and see.
05:41Best of the appearance.
05:42He's with number six.
05:44Flat foul.
05:46Automatic first down.
05:47There was no question where Lamar just, there's the grab.
05:51I think it's a good call.
05:52There was no question where Lamar was going with the football.
05:55Hopkins was out there.
05:57One-on-one.
05:58Now, it was a line drive.
06:00He could have laid it up and maybe given him more of an opportunity.
06:03But, you know, there's a look at the defensive pass interferences that he had last year.
06:07It's been a tough start this year as well.
06:10But the Ravens have an opportunity here with 27 seconds to score.
06:15They get the ball again to start the second half.
06:17So, they get a chance to double up.
06:25It's first down and goal.
06:28First and goal.
06:29They got a couple timeouts.
06:30Baltimore does.
06:31So, they got the whole playbook.
06:36Play action.
06:38And touchdown, Ravens Bateman.
06:40Looked like that play was going to the right and Lamar Jackson threw back to his left.
06:58Yeah, it was totally designed, Joe.
07:00You're exactly right.
07:01That Lamar Jackson's going to show like he's going to sprint out to his right.
07:05And then Rashad Bateman is going to come here and then back out.
07:09So, the whole thing was designed with Zay Flowers then in behind that.
07:14But a good call.
07:15Get the defense flowing.
07:16Come back to Bateman for the touchdown.
07:18Derrick Henry with a nice block on Aiden Hutchinson to free up Lamar Jackson for the three-yard touchdown pass.
07:26And we're tied.
07:30Ravens take advantage of the short field.
07:33They started at the Lions 49 and they go 49 yards in 32 seconds.
07:38This is a heck of a ball game.
07:45Halftime's coming up.
07:46Jason Kelsey, hopefully he got his wind back.
07:52It's a chin strap.
07:54It's not a nose strap.
07:56How is he breathing?
07:57Jason, you can say no.
08:11Sometimes you've got to remind guys, you know.
08:15Good for him.
08:16They're looking for him.
08:16They're missing.
08:17I don't know what kind of sacks that was.
08:20Somebody let the internet tell me.
08:22A crowd source for what that was.
08:25There's Stanford Steve.
08:28Those two just chopping it up down there.
08:31Chopping it up.
08:32Yeah, just talking ball.
08:33Talking ball.
08:34Like he did on the porch in Henrietta.
08:41Lions do have three timeouts.
08:43If dangerous Dan Campbell wants to get frisky here at the end of the half.
08:49Yeah, I don't.
08:52Let's see what this return might look like.
08:55It's Raymond.
09:00We've tripped up after crossing the 30.
09:03And now there's 18 seconds left.
09:06Monday Night Lights.
09:07These two guys love playing on Monday nights.
09:10They're their career numbers.
09:13Each guy's seven and two.
09:16Here are the numbers tonight.
09:17I mean, identical records coming in and identical total yards for the two starting quarterbacks here in week three.
09:26Yeah, both these quarterbacks tonight have had excellent first halves.
09:32Only had four total incomplete passes between the two quarterbacks.
09:38He just returned that kick to leave Raymond a gain of four.
09:53And a timeout is taken by Detroit.
10:00So Dan Campbell is putting the pedal down as we'll welcome you inside the broadcast booth.
10:05Joe Buck and the new Henrietta Aikman over here to my right.
10:09We thought this would be a good game coming in, and it has not disappointed at all.
10:15Both teams really impressive tonight.
10:17Yeah, they've been good.
10:19But it did remind me one year I thought the Super Bowl was going to be played in Henrietta.
10:23But that's a whole other story.
10:24So this first half has lived up to what we thought it would be coming into this game.
10:28It's a big game for both these teams.
10:30We talked about it being a measuring stick, and in a lot of ways it is,
10:34although they've shown me enough that as long as these guys can stay healthy,
10:38like the last several other years, they're going to be right there when it's all said and done.
10:45Second down and six.
10:48Backpedaling.
10:48Amon Ross St. Brown makes the catch.
10:50And boy, as he's swarmed by the secondary of the Ravens.
10:55T.J. Tampa, who's a young corner they like.
10:57But they're playing again without Jair Alexander, who they signed after many years in Green Bay.
11:05And they figured that after knee surgery and then missing a few weeks,
11:10he missed three in August and September.
11:11He just wasn't ready.
11:12They hope next week when they have a date with the Kansas City Chiefs,
11:16he'll be ready to go.
11:17They're at KC next Sunday.
11:19Marlon Humphrey talking about guys being a little banged up on that last play.
11:23He got up and he came into the game with a groin.
11:27And he was questionable throughout the week with a groin injury.
11:31I'm not sure if that was maybe re-aggravated or a knee or an ankle or something.
11:35But they took him out.
11:37Seven seconds left.
11:39It's third down and three.
11:42With one timeout.
11:43And now defensively, the Ravens take a timeout.
11:53So pretty good by this Ravens defense, especially up front without Matt Abike.
12:01Talk about college football upcoming.
12:05Seven o'clock Friday on ESPN, number eight, Florida State against Virginia.
12:091230 on Saturday on ABC, Notre Dame and Arkansas at 330, LSU Ole Miss.
12:15And it's 730.
12:17It's number five, Georgia against number 17, Alabama.
12:20You can also go to the new ESPN app to watch all the action.
12:25You know, Joe, looking at this right here, I know there's seven seconds they're battling that.
12:29They need about 20 yards.
12:31And then they're at Jake Bates' career long, which would be a 58-yarder.
12:36So it's not inconceivable.
12:38You know, they've got to get the ball out.
12:40Guys got to know that if they catch the ball and they're in that range, get down, fall timeout.
12:44There's Amon Ross, St. Brown.
12:51Down he goes.
12:52And the last timeout will be taken.
12:54This league has changed.
12:56That was so smart by St. Brown to get down.
12:59He leaves two seconds on the clock.
13:01The user last timeout.
13:02This league has changed so much.
13:04We're right around the corner from the first 70-yard field goal that this league has ever seen.
13:09But these teams now get around midfield, and they're thinking about field goals.
13:13Yeah, I mean, and, well, thinking field goals here, and even the fact that they went for it there,
13:18there was a time not long ago that with 20-whatever seconds were on the clock when they got possession of the ball,
13:24they would have just run it out.
13:26And now the Ravens will spend a timeout.
13:30They're going to put the ball down at the 43-yard line,
13:35which would make it a 67-yard field goal.
13:39That would be the record if he hits this, the NFL record.
13:47Right now, that's held by Justin Tucker, the 13-year kicker, long time with the Ravens.
13:54This is a 60-yard try during the pregame that he hit.
14:03And this is beyond that.
14:0567 yards.
14:11Well, it's worth at least a shot, you know, although when you're talking about this distance,
14:16obviously, you're not getting the ball up as quickly, and, you know, it gives an opportunity for this defense as well.
14:23Wester's waiting in the end zone.
14:24He can return it and fall short.
14:28Can Bates hit it?
14:29This would be an NFL record.
14:35Good snap.
14:36Good hold.
14:37Good hold.
14:38Good roll.
14:38The kick is no good.
14:51Wide to the left.
14:55Ravens will receive the second half kickoff as we give you another look.
14:58Субтитры делал DimaTorzok.
15:00And we'll send it down to Laura
15:02Rutledge with Dan Campbell.
15:03All right.
15:04Thank you Joe.
15:05Now the kick wasn't good there
15:06but how would you describe the
15:07offense and the way it's
15:08functioned so far in this game.
15:09Well we've done a good job.
15:11You know we we'd have been a
15:13little bit better there towards
15:14the end when we got the ball
15:15back made a hell of a stop
15:16defensively.
15:17We talked about playing
15:18complimentary football and
15:19helping each other out.
15:20And we've really done that.
15:21So listen I like where we're
15:23at.
15:24We've got a regroup good team
15:25over there but we'll bounce
15:26back be good.
15:27Well time of possession is
15:28important in this when you
15:29possess the ball almost 20
15:30minutes in that first half.
15:31What can you say about that.
15:32Well that's one of the things
15:34we wanted to do.
15:35You know we were able to
15:36sustain drives.
15:37We've got to be able to do it
15:38again in the second half.
15:39Thank you Dan.
15:40All right.
15:41Thank you Joe.
15:42Laura they had the longest
15:43drive in the NFL this season
15:44that 10 minute 48 second drive
15:47that went ninety eight and a
15:49half yards for a touchdown.
15:51And this game is tied at 14
15:53Ravens get the ball to start
15:54the second half.
15:55Allstate halftime coming up
15:57next.
15:59Tonight's first half highlights
16:01are presented by Target.
16:04What a matchup to finish off
16:06week three.
16:07Gips touchdown.
16:09Not the first guy that we've
16:12seen Lamar do that to forget
16:14first down.
16:15How about touchdown.
16:17Play action.
16:18Touchdown Ravens.
16:23Get everything you need to win
16:25game day at Target.
16:28Tied at 14 after a half of play.
16:31Ravens about to get the ball.
16:32You're about to see our faces.
16:33Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
16:35Lisa Salters.
16:36Laura Rutledge down on the field.
16:38We'll hear from Lisa in just a
16:39second.
16:40But surprising that Zay Flowers
16:42has not been targeted in this
16:44game yet.
16:45It is a little bit surprising.
16:46The Lions aren't doing anything
16:47special to try to take him out.
16:49But the reality is is the Ravens
16:52they only had twenty one first
16:53half plays.
16:54So there's a nine of those were
16:55passes.
16:56So they just haven't had the ball
16:59really all that much and haven't
17:01had that many offensive snaps.
17:03I would expect that to change.
17:05Todd Munkin when we when we
17:06visited with him he said hey
17:08Zay Flowers is going to get
17:09the ball.
17:10He has gotten the ball the first
17:11couple of weeks and he's the
17:12key so he is a focal point for
17:14this offense.
17:18Aiden Hutchinson tonight.
17:20He's been on the left side.
17:21He's been on the right side.
17:22More on the right tonight.
17:24And one snap on the interior of
17:27the defensive line.
17:28This is Ali and Rasheen Ali out
17:33across the twenty five moments
17:34ago Lisa Salters caught up with
17:36John Harbaugh.
17:38John you get the ball to start
17:39this second half.
17:40There was some success but also
17:41some frustration on offense in
17:43the first half.
17:44What do you have to clean up.
17:46Well we'd like to love to have
17:47finished that drive down there
17:48going in but I thought our
17:49defense did a great job
17:50stepping up and getting that
17:51sack.
17:52You go for it.
17:53Hit him back in.
17:54That's kind of the worst case
17:55scenario.
17:56But then the ball got out to the
17:57twenty then our defense stepped
17:58up.
17:59So I'm proud of it's going to be
18:00that kind of a game back and
18:01forth.
18:02Just find a way to win the next
18:03drive when the next point.
18:04You talked about your defense
18:05that 18 play lines touchdown
18:06drive seemed to take a lot of
18:07out of them.
18:08Just what did you like about the
18:09way they just bounce right
18:10back.
18:11I do appreciate the way they
18:12bounce back and fought.
18:13I mean I thought we fought
18:14through the drive we just
18:15didn't get off the field on
18:16third down.
18:17Especially a lot of third and
18:18long.
18:19We did the last two drives.
18:20Thank you coach.
18:22Lisa.
18:23Thank you John.
18:24Thank you a little drop off
18:25pass to Derrick Henry and he
18:27goes forward for seven and
18:29we're underway in the second
18:30half.
18:31Second down and three in a tie
18:33ball game.
18:34Well here's a look at Aiden
18:35Hutchinson and he's kind of
18:36been a little bit quiet there
18:37in that first half but he
18:38draws a lot of attention so he
18:39gets a chip in the double team
18:41as he has been working both
18:42sides of the offensive line.
18:43He's been working against
18:44Ronnie Stanley then going to
18:45the other side against Roger
18:46Rosen garden.
18:48But they they come in certainly
18:50as every offense does with a
18:51plan.
18:52Henry is a yard short maybe a
18:54half yard short of a first
18:56down as Jack Campbell made that
18:58stop.
18:59So third down coming up.
19:00I said and I just threw it out
19:11there as you look at the
19:12numbers tonight only one in
19:13completion.
19:14Lamar Jackson has the best
19:15passer rating.
19:16That's not doesn't take into
19:17account the running at all the
19:18best passer rating in the
19:20history of the league.
19:21I saw that today as well Joe.
19:22I I don't say I was amazed but
19:24I was a little surprised but it
19:26doesn't take into account the
19:27running at all the best passer
19:29rating in the history of the
19:30game.
19:31That does speak to what we've
19:32talked about.
19:33And how much he has grown and
19:36how good he's been in the
19:37pocket as they were able to get
19:39the the Lions would look to be
19:41outside the defense of the
19:42fifty one five yard penalty
19:44results for the first down.
19:45That's where Lopez who is
19:47guilty of the neutral zone
19:48infraction.
19:49He came into this game just
19:51percentage points decimal
19:54points figures numbers better
19:58than Aaron Rodgers Patrick
19:59Mahomes Joe Burrow.
20:00But I mean line up whoever you
20:02want that behind those names
20:03right there.
20:04It's Lamar Jackson on top.
20:05Well we've talked about it
20:08before and I've heard Steve
20:09Young talk about it when he
20:10became feared is when he became
20:12a passer and less of a runner.
20:14Here's a near pick off and it'll never
20:19be any easier for Brian Branch and he
20:21just dropped it.
20:22He reads it perfectly as well.
20:24He's got his eyes back on Lamar as
20:27he's carrying it up the field and
20:30just does an outstanding job.
20:32It's Mark Andrews who's in the
20:33scene.
20:34Or excuse me.
20:35He's got Mark Andrews but then he's
20:37working back to the inside against
20:40Charlie Kohler and it just bounces
20:42right off his hands.
20:43And you're right.
20:44I mean there are guys who can't
20:45catch the football.
20:46Brian Branch is not one of them.
20:51They'll be thinking about that going
20:53to bed tonight.
20:54Now second down and 10.
20:58Blitz coming.
20:59Pass is caught by Andrews and
21:03Campbell in on the stop again of
21:05four third down.
21:06You know and I was talking about
21:07it that with Steve Young and he
21:09he's talked to other quarterbacks
21:11that have come into this league
21:12about yeah it's great to be able to
21:13run but but ultimately you got to
21:15beat defenses with your arm if
21:16you're going to be a championship
21:17quarterback and and we've seen
21:19that from Lamar.
21:20I mean they've got a great scheme
21:23and they've got really good
21:24players around but watching him
21:26throw the football the way he
21:27has over the last several years
21:29now with Todd Munkin as the
21:30offensive coordinator it's been
21:32impressive and what we showed
21:34with that graphic him being
21:36rated number one passer rating
21:38pretty good.
21:40Third down.
21:41There's his first target.
21:42There's his first catch flowers
21:43and they're going to give him
21:44the first down.
21:47Zane Flowers gets his first.
21:49They got a good spot and first down
21:53for Baltimore.
21:54Little pick here with Mark
21:55Andrews as he comes off the ball
21:57and Zane Flowers comes underneath
21:59they're anticipating man coverage
22:01because they're so heavy with
22:02Detroit's cover one and good call.
22:06Good execution and they're able to
22:08finally free him up for the
22:09completion catch number 15 on the
22:11season first to the night.
22:12There's Todd Munkin the job he has
22:15done and your number three is
22:16offensive coordinator for John
22:18Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson.
22:20Here's Henry.
22:23And Derek able to take it inside
22:25the forty five got four.
22:27You know even with that said when
22:28we talk about what Lamar's done
22:30throwing the football make no
22:32mistake this is still an offense
22:34that just wants to be physical and
22:36run the football.
22:37And so when even when you look at
22:38the yards the passing yards it
22:41doesn't really tell the entire
22:43story.
22:44Last year they were seventh in the
22:45league and in passing yards but
22:47they were number one in yards per
22:50pass.
22:51So that's a better indicator is just
22:54how effective they are throwing the
22:56football because they're going to
22:57run it more than other teams.
23:00Second down and six Jackson keeps
23:02wide open his Kohler.
23:05And he's got a first down after
23:06breaking a tackle on the ball just
23:08outside the twenty five.
23:12Eighteen yards for Charlie Kohler.
23:16Well Charlie Kohler I know he
23:18doesn't get many opportunities
23:19that's his first target.
23:20But they just totally turn him
23:22loose.
23:23I mean they don't even worry about
23:24him coming off the football.
23:26And that's you couldn't go out
23:28there and practice and have it any
23:30easier than that.
23:39After we play assistance the ball
23:40will be spot at the twenty nine
23:41yard line.
23:42First down.
23:45They're going to say the knee was
23:46down or some body part was down
23:47on that last lunge by Kohler and
23:49they moved the ball back to the twenty
23:51nine.
23:53They moved it back three yards.
23:56For its first and ten.
23:59So they're without Isaiah likely.
24:01He broke his foot at the end of
24:02July had foot surgery on his right
24:04foot August first and he is close
24:07to coming back.
24:09And another weapon for Lamar
24:10Jackson.
24:11And you combine that with Patrick
24:13Ricard.
24:15Their full back who's a big part of
24:16this offense.
24:17So they're missing some key guys.
24:19Flowers in motion.
24:21Jackson keeps floats it.
24:23Andrews got it.
24:26Strong catch by Mark Andrews.
24:30Against Brian Branch for twenty.
24:32And he was open a lot sooner as he
24:34came off the ball his play action.
24:36But Brian branches locked up one
24:37on one his he's not even looking
24:39in the backfield.
24:41He's got his eyes on Andrews.
24:43But Andrews just comes off the
24:44ball runs right past him.
24:46So he had he had a lot of
24:47separation but Lamar wasn't ready
24:48to throw the football at that
24:49time.
24:51Then it became contested.
24:53That's a great job by Andrews
24:54going up and making a play.
24:56Branch couldn't make that play
24:57couldn't make the interception
24:59earlier on this possession.
25:00Yeah.
25:02First and goal right at the ten.
25:04Henry's going to throw lobbing
25:06it.
25:08And that could have been picked
25:09off by D.J. Reid.
25:12Tylan Wallace was the target.
25:16And an ill-advised pass the
25:18Ravens are lucky that wasn't
25:19intercepted.
25:21Yeah as soon as he slows up.
25:23As soon as Derrick Henry comes
25:24out and slows up it doesn't
25:26look good.
25:28But he had Lamar Jackson out the
25:29other side.
25:31If he had stopped and looked
25:32and you know in practice they
25:33had talked to him saying hey
25:35Lamar Jackson is an outlet if
25:37you want to get back to it.
25:39But they totally turned him
25:40loose.
25:42But as soon as Henry stopped.
25:44And kind of double clutched.
25:46It was not good.
25:47He probably should have just
25:48thrown it away.
25:49Now second and goal.
25:52Jackson trying to find
25:53somewhere to go.
25:54Brought down from behind.
25:57And that's Al-Quddin Muhammad.
26:00Who they're going to count on a
26:01lot after the injury to Marcus
26:02Davenport.
26:03He gets his second sack.
26:04Well when we talked to Todd
26:06Munkin what did he say.
26:07Lamar Jackson it's kind of the
26:10price of playing
26:12business.
26:14Or cost of doing business.
26:15Excuse me.
26:16That he doesn't throw it away.
26:18You know that he's going to try
26:19to make a play.
26:20And he tried to there and then
26:23lost some yards.
26:27Since last year just.
26:29Well under one on average
26:31throw away a game.
26:32Number two in the league to
26:33Baker Mayfield.
26:34And now on third down.
26:36Andrews.
26:37Diving catch.
26:38Touchdown.
26:39Ravens.
26:40You know Alex Anzalone he's in
26:45coverage.
26:47It's pretty good coverage.
26:48actually he's locked up man to
26:49man.
26:50And this is just it's it's a good
26:51route by Andrews.
26:53And then it's just a perfectly
26:55thrown ball by Jackson.
26:57He just lays it out there.
26:59And gives Mark Andrews an
27:01opportunity to just go make a
27:02play.
27:03But not bad coverage of him.
27:04He's in outs.
27:05You know Alex Anzalone he's
27:06in coverage.
27:07You know Alex Anzalone.
27:08He's in coverage.
27:09He's in coverage.
27:11It's pretty good coverage.
27:12Actually he's locked up man to
27:13man.
27:14And this is just it's a good
27:16ирование will make a play but not
27:18bad coverage overall by ens
27:19delสrooms trying to stick with
27:21Mark Andrews just a perfectly
27:23thrown ball on the perfect night
27:25for Andrews the extra point now
27:29by Luke seven point Raven's lead
27:33Mark Andrews they wanted to get
27:35him involved tonight.
27:38Five catches sixty four yards
27:40and a touchdown 14 yards away
27:44to near picks on that
27:46on this season of possession.
27:48Ravens take it in.
27:53It was a divisional playoff loss
27:55at Buffalo and Mark Andrews
27:56was just gutted with the way
27:59his game went on that cold night
28:01in Buffalo.
28:02A fumble, a drop, on a two point
28:05try that would have tied it.
28:0727, 25 loss.
28:09And more heartache and heartbreak
28:12for the Ravens in the postseason.
28:14Встреча с одной стороны, пять
28:16catches, and he just scored on
28:18his 14-yard catch, his first
28:20touchdown of the season, and
28:22he's come in with the right
28:23attitude, which they weren't
28:24worried about at all.
28:26He's responded, and responded
28:27well.
28:28A guy who's done so much for
28:30this organization to have to
28:31live with that throughout the
28:32offseason.
28:33He's had himself a night.
28:34He knew it was coming.
28:35He didn't know exactly when, but
28:36he's just been too valuable to
28:38this offense.
28:40That was short.
28:42Pickettino 33.
28:44Ball he placed at the 40-yard
28:45line.
28:46First down.
28:47Well, that's the second time
28:48that Tyler Loup, the rookie, has
28:50been short of the landing zone.
28:52That means the ball comes out to
28:54the 40.
28:56So he's had a couple of bad
28:58kickoffs, and now adds another.
29:01We'll check in with Lisa in a
29:03moment.
29:05And seeing a lot of these
29:08kickers that are trying to
29:11figure out ways to just get it
29:13into the landing zone, and he
29:14was just short of doing it.
29:16Yeah, it gets costly when
29:17you're in a game like this
29:18against an offense like the
29:19Lions.
29:20Goff low for Jamison Williams.
29:26Stick in with Lisa.
29:27Yeah, Joe.
29:28Well, Lamar Jackson told us this
29:29weekend he was not worried a
29:31bit about Mark Andrews or his
29:33state of mind coming into this
29:35game with just two catches for
29:36seven yards.
29:37He said Mark is good, and he
29:39reminded us that Andrews got off
29:40to a slow start last year.
29:42Just six catches for 65 yards,
29:44zero touchdowns for the first
29:46four weeks of 2024.
29:48He finished with eleven
29:49touchdowns.
29:50So Lamar said we start the same
29:52every year.
29:53Everybody else gets the ball.
29:54Then defenses take their eyes
29:55off Mark and he goes crazy.
29:57Well, he's gone crazy tonight.
29:59Here's Gibbs.
30:00Nice run.
30:01And he got hit and hit hard by
30:02Chidobe Awuzie, a longtime corner
30:06in this league, but a gain of
30:08seven.
30:09Third and three coming up.
30:10Here's the hit by Awuzie.
30:12Yeah, Awuzie.
30:13I mentioned it.
30:14You see the hit.
30:15That's a big time hit.
30:16And when you watch both of
30:18these defenses play, you know,
30:20he's a cover corner.
30:22He's a good player.
30:23But whether it's for the Ravens
30:26or for the Lions, it doesn't
30:27matter that you're a cover
30:28corner.
30:29You better be a tackler as well.
30:31And for the most part, all
30:33these defensive backs are.
30:38Third down and three.
30:40Good protection.
30:41Good throw.
30:42And Laporte has got another
30:44conversion on third down.
30:46He couldn't have handed it to
30:47him any better than that.
30:48What throw.
30:49Well, it's such a great Roquan
30:50Smith is the one who's in
30:51coverage and here he is.
30:55And he does an excellent job
30:57as Laporte comes out.
30:59He acts like he's going to go
31:00break outside.
31:01Comes back in.
31:02But the ball had to be thrown
31:04just perfectly as it was.
31:06Laporte has got three catches
31:08all on third downs and all have
31:10converted.
31:14They handed Gibbs.
31:21They've stayed with a run.
31:22Gibbs gets 10.
31:25Well, when you look at the
31:26Lions last year, Joe, talking
31:28about third downs, they were
31:29fourth in the NFL converting
31:30third downs.
31:31And it hasn't been great the
31:35first couple of weeks of the
31:36season.
31:37And it's been even worse when
31:38it's been third and six plus.
31:40I mean, they had converted just
31:41one of 14 coming into this game
31:43tonight.
31:44And yet they've done a heck of a
31:45job.
31:46There's a look at John Morton and
31:48they're converting 70 percent.
31:50That 98 play driver that 98 yard
31:52drive.
31:53They had a lot of third down
31:54conversions.
31:55Golf's been good on that down.
31:57And Mark Gibbs short.
31:59So they handed to him here and
32:00he picks it up on second and
32:01less than one.
32:03John Jenkins 13 year pro from
32:06Georgia made that tackle but
32:10not before a first down pickup
32:12by Jameer Gibbs.
32:15We saw John Morton the first year
32:17offensive coordinator with the
32:18Lions takes over for Ben
32:20Johnson who three years is the
32:22OC in Detroit.
32:23They led the league in points per
32:25game 18th year in the league as
32:27a coach for Morton spent the
32:29last two seasons with Sean Payton
32:31in Denver new but he was with
32:34Detroit before he went to Denver
32:36very comfortable coming back in
32:38calling plays on first down a
32:42toss to Montgomery throws back to
32:44golf who airs it out for St.
32:46Brown.
32:47What a play and what a time to
32:49show John Morton as they go into
32:53their bag of tricks and come up
32:55with that for 17.
32:56Yeah by a little time a little
32:58trickery take the home run shot
33:00if you have it if you don't then
33:03you get an opportunity to try to
33:06take that intermediate throw
33:07which is exactly what he does
33:09initially you know you look at
33:10this and you say okay was it
33:11backwards it was backwards so
33:13they do a heck of a job there as
33:15far as the execution goes and
33:17then golf being patient and not
33:20being too greedy on the play.
33:21St. Brown in motion golf for St.
33:31Brown.
33:32He is there and he's got it.
33:33Touchdown Detroit.
33:34What a throw and catch.
33:35working against Marlon Humphrey and
33:42we're an extra point away from a
33:44tie game.
33:45Yeah.
33:46This is Jared golf just at the top
33:47of his game one an excellent
33:49route by Amon Ross St. Brown
33:52double move on Marlon Humphrey.
33:54So golf isn't so much worried about
33:56St. Brown winning on the route.
33:58He's got to hold Hamilton the
34:00Hamilton the safety is watching
34:03as well.
34:05And he he has to hold him to keep
34:07him from going over the top.
34:08He does that perfectly and then
34:10throws a great ball.
34:15What an answer by Detroit seven
34:17plays sixty yards in three and
34:20a half minutes.
34:21We're tied at twenty one.
34:25It's like a heavyweight fight.
34:27These two teams just standing in the
34:29middle of the ring swinging at each
34:31other.
34:32This time it's Amon Ross St.
34:33Brown.
34:34His fourth of the year.
34:36We're tied.
34:44Hallo, hallo, hallo.
34:45Wie geht's?
34:46Hallo, hallo.
34:47Ich hab Jersey für euch.
34:49Paar Pompoms für die Kinder.
34:51Hallo, hallo, hallo, hallo.
34:54Let's go Lions.
34:55Ja.
34:56Amon Ross honors his German
35:00heritage by traveling to Germany
35:02annually to host youth summer
35:04camps.
35:05His mother Miriam is German.
35:07And that was footage from a June
35:10visit.
35:11Amon Ross visited a preschool that he
35:12attended in Leverkusen, which
35:14borders the city of Cologne.
35:16Only speaks to his mom in German.
35:19That was detailed in a Monday night
35:20countdown.
35:21Peace with Amon Ross.
35:23And he just.
35:25Took it into the end zone on that
35:26beautiful throw from golf.
35:27And now.
35:28Jake Bates kicks it out.
35:2938.
35:30Well he placed the 40 yard line.
35:31First down.
35:32Let's go down to Laura Rutledge.
35:33Well Joe.
35:34Amon Ross St. Brown said being
35:35German is really important to me.
35:36Really a crucial part of my life.
35:37As you mentioned, he only speaks
35:38German to his mom.
35:39So he gets a lot of practice with it.
35:40But really German was his first
35:41language growing up.
35:42His mom Miriam only spoke German
35:43in the house.
35:44Tim and his brothers.
35:45And he also goes back to Germany
35:46at least once a year.
35:47He loves the culture and loves
35:48celebrating it.
35:49And he loves the culture and
35:50he loves celebrating it.
35:51And he loves it.
35:52And he loves it.
35:53He loves it.
35:54He loves it.
35:55He loves it.
35:56He loves it.
35:57He loves it.
35:58He loves it.
35:59He loves it.
36:00He loves it.
36:01He loves it.
36:02He loves it.
36:03He loves it.
36:04He loves it.
36:05He loves it.
36:06He loves it.
36:07He loves it.
36:08Well his family is very proud of
36:09him.
36:10They've got an extremely athletic
36:11family.
36:12As a flowers makes his second
36:13catch.
36:14Little catch and run.
36:15Got a good block from Mark
36:16Andrews who had a touchdown
36:18the last time the Ravens had
36:19the ball.
36:20And a gain of seven.
36:22You mentioned Amon Ross St.
36:23Brown and I talked earlier
36:24about the job that Brad Holmes
36:25has done as general manager
36:26acquiring talent for this team
36:28when when St.
36:29When St. Brown is a fourth-round pick
36:32and the quarterback is saying he's the best receiver
36:34he's ever thrown the ball to
36:36and you name some of the guys he's thrown the ball to
36:38over the years,
36:39that kind of tells you
36:41what Brad Holmes has done with his roster.
36:44Second down and three.
36:46Lamar Jackson is going to be wrapped up
36:49by Muhammad, his second of the night.
36:52Al-Quddin Muhammad.
36:56He is with his fifth team.
36:58He's in his seventh year, 30 years old
37:00and they are really going to be leaning on him.
37:03Yes, they are.
37:04And whatever he may lack in ability,
37:06he makes up for just in his tenaciousness
37:09and the way in which he continues to compete
37:11and battle in the effort that he gives
37:14and that's what allows him to make the play here.
37:17I mean, he definitely is being relied on.
37:19You lose Marcus Davenport
37:21and others have to be able to come in
37:23and kind of fill that void
37:25and they trust that he'll do it.
37:28Third Lions sack of the night.
37:30Jackson incomplete for Bateman
37:32who gets hit by Branch.
37:35So after the kickoff out of bounds
37:38and field position at their own 40,
37:41the Ravens don't do anything with it
37:43and a punt is next.
37:45Yeah, it's not easy to do for this defense.
37:48Give him that kind of field position
37:50and force a three and out.
37:52Get the ball back to your offense.
37:54That's, it's well done.
37:56Jordan Stout will punt it
37:58with Kalief Raymond waiting for it.
38:00Raymond averaging about seven and a half yards per return.
38:11Stout hits it.
38:13Booming punt.
38:14Raymond this time lets it go over his head
38:17and this time it checks up inside the five.
38:20At the four and Stout dropped it in beautifully.
38:27Chris Horton happy.
38:29The Ravens are happy.
38:31Al Quadeen Muhammad happy.
38:33After his second sack of the night.
38:35The stop for the Lions defense.
38:38Lamar frustrated in a tie game.
38:40What a night in Baltimore.
38:41Well, that is, uh, that's Liv's Tavern
38:54in Baltimore's vibrant Federal Hill neighborhood.
38:58They look vibrant.
39:00It looks like they're having a heck of a time.
39:03How can you not watching this game with a cold beer?
39:08This is, uh, not the worst starting field position
39:11for the Lions tonight.
39:12Remember, they started inside their own two
39:14and went 98 yards.
39:1698 and a half to be exact.
39:19Well, the whole key is getting that first first down
39:21as I talked about.
39:22You gotta give some room for your punter Jack Fox
39:24if you, you know, you're not able to keep the ball.
39:27But that's the first thing on Jared Goff's mind
39:31is just trying to get a new set of downs
39:33on this possession.
39:37Montgomery is able to get through
39:39and get 11.
39:41Strong run by David Montgomery.
39:44And a good job yet again
39:46by this reshuffled offensive line of the Lions.
39:48Yeah, just watch these guys come off the ball
39:51and the job that they do.
39:52I mean, it's just excellent work.
39:54You got guys on, and again, Sam Porta,
39:56we've highlighted him tonight
39:58and what he's able to do
39:59and a big part of it.
40:01So, they get that breathing room
40:06and the ball's sitting at their own 15.
40:14Montgomery stays in.
40:16They fake it to him.
40:17Throw to Amon Ross St. Brown.
40:19And it's out of his reach.
40:20One of the rare Aaron throws by Goff all night.
40:23Yeah, that's one he'd probably like to have back.
40:25You know, going back to that offensive line, Joe,
40:27Hank Fraley played in the league for a long time.
40:29He's been a long-time coach as well.
40:31He was here before Dan Campbell in Detroit.
40:34This is his eighth year
40:35as the offensive line coach with the Lions.
40:38He came in with Matt Patricia,
40:40but a quality coach.
40:42He's been around some really good offensive minds,
40:44and he's had his work cut out for him this year.
40:47He's got him playing tonight.
40:50Here's another good run by Montgomery.
40:52He is out, being chased by Humphrey.
40:56And brought down near the 15.
41:10What a run by David Montgomery
41:12behind that offensive line
41:14and a big play here tonight.
41:16Well, yeah, it's just an excellent job up front.
41:20You've got the right guard, rookie Tate Radledge,
41:22and Panay Sewell along with Sam Laporta.
41:26And it's just excellent blocking on that side.
41:30And then Montgomery's got the crease,
41:32is able to make a guy miss,
41:34and off and running.
41:3672 yards, third longest run of the career
41:39of David Montgomery.
41:41Now Gibbs.
41:44Is that Baltimore defense?
41:46He's got to be a bit winded,
41:47especially Marlon Humphrey,
41:49who had to come out after chasing Montgomery
41:51down the field,
41:52and David's coming back in
41:54after Gibbs gets five.
41:56Oh, you know, you look at this game,
41:58and the worse the field position gets for the Lions,
42:01the better they play.
42:03You know, they're backed up inside the five,
42:05and I've said it,
42:08you just try to get a new set of downs,
42:10and next thing they're inside the 10-yard line
42:13looking for a touchdown.
42:17Both backs in there.
42:19Goff, Laporta, good tackle.
42:24That play made by Keyon Martin,
42:26who is a rookie,
42:28and a tryout player that just opened their eyes,
42:32forced his way onto the team.
42:34He made a nice tackle there.
42:36And it's third down and four.
42:37Now, this has been one heck of a ball game.
42:41It's a heavyweight fight for week three,
42:44and we talked about it being a measuring stick
42:47to see where these teams were
42:48after some disappointing week one losses,
42:52and, man, they just continue to exchange blows.
42:56They're down and four.
42:57Play clock is at five.
42:59Timeout taken by Dan Campbell,
43:07who was sauntering down the sideline.
43:11It'll be third down and four
43:12with 36 seconds left here in the third.
43:15Late clock was expiring,
43:22so Dan Campbell had to use his first time out of the half.
43:2890 yards over five plays.
43:30The 72-yard run by Montgomery,
43:32and now it's third and fourth.
43:33Yeah, and you got to believe
43:34that Dan Campbell has told Johnny Morton
43:36that he's got two downs to pick it up
43:38if they don't get it here on third.
43:39As aggressive as Dan Campbell,
43:41he did to start this game.
43:43Can't imagine he wouldn't be here.
43:45Here's Gibbs.
43:47His knee went down, and he didn't get it.
43:51It's going to be fourth down,
43:53and if the Lions want to let the quarter expire
43:57and pick this up in the fourth, they can.
44:00But right now, they're hurrying back to the line.
44:03They did not substitute.
44:04They can go right back under center.
44:06I would think they'd want to take it to the fourth.
44:09And that's where we go.
44:34Fourth down for the Lions.
44:36When we come back, start of the fourth,
44:38tie it at 21.
44:39Take, take, take me home.
44:44Fourth quarter, fourth down.
44:47And the seventh play of this drive.
44:51It started back at the four.
44:58This is when, if you're the Baltimore Ravens,
45:00you sure wish you had Nnamdi, Manabu, BK,
45:02in the lineup.
45:05He's out with a bad neck.
45:06They don't know how long he will be out there.
45:08Also without Kyle Van Nooye.
45:10Two pro bowlers not out there on this defense for the Ravens.
45:14Fourth and one.
45:15They pitch to Gibbs.
45:21They pitch to Gibbs.
45:21Touchdown.
45:27It went from...
