00:00It went from Goff to Amon Ross St. Brown and he pitched it to Gibbs and like Ben Johnson would call it was a gadget play and boy was that a thing of beauty.
00:14Yeah well we've seen Johnny Morton dial up a couple of these tonight.
00:18This is good execution.
00:20They get it to St. Brown and then he pitches it out to Jameer Gibbs to get him on the edge with the speed.
00:25There's a good look at Johnny Morton.
00:27He's he had a heck of a game plan last week and that big win against Chicago and tonight here on the road a lot of questions were going to be answered and if there were any out there on him he's answered those as well.
00:46Up by seven before tonight the last time the Ravens allowed a 95 yard touchdown in Baltimore was in 2001.
00:54The Lions have done it twice tonight amazing 72 yard run by David Montgomery got him down there longest run in the NFL this season.
01:06What a game Gibbs has got another and the Lions back up by seven.
01:11Oh yeah take a look at this drive right or this handoff here by Jared Goff as he gives it to Amon Ross St.
01:23Brown it's vertical and the reason for that is then he's able to just pitch it.
01:27It's already in a position that he needs it to be in to pitch it quickly.
01:31They're working off of Mike Green but that's just detail in the execution and it's an excellent job by John Morton when he put that play in and having all the finer points of it detailed out.
01:45Rasheen Ali returned it and then got tackled up high on the sideline.
01:52No flag and it's Ravens ball down seven as Rocky a scene made that stop and here's the Ravens offense back out there now back down by seven points.
02:06Well now it's the Ravens opportunity to see if they can match the blow they just took.
02:11But just another great drive John Morton has really done an excellent job a guy who was picked anticipating he might lose Ben Johnson.
02:23He was always the guy that Dan Campbell had in mind Jackson breaking tackles Anzalone won't let him go Anzalone is celebrating his 31st birthday today trying to help get a win here to get their record to two and one been a good player for a long time.
02:41In his ninth year second down and seven well I think these linebackers for Detroit are really good and we've seen a lot of Barnes tonight because the Lions have played a lot of base defense matching the personnel that they've gotten from the Baltimore Ravens second and seven Jackson out to his right throws it away.
03:05I mean it was too high for Flowers that one just got away Flowers was open as he worked against DJ Reed third down and seven third down and seven and you know Baltimore hasn't had near as many of them.
03:21They've had seven third downs tonight.
03:23They've converted four of them but now would be a good time to convert their fifth.
03:28Kelvin Shepard first year defensive coordinator played for the Lions was an eight-year linebacker in the league.
03:38Third down seven yards.
03:46Jackson over the middle he's got Bateman first down.
03:49Perfect throw 19 yards and into Lions territory go the Ravens.
03:58Well Tylan Wallace number 16 he goes through the defense he clears out a defender and just opens it up.
04:04Watch Tylan Wallace and the impact that he then has on Branch at the safety and then that opens it up in behind for Bateman to be able to make the play.
04:15But it's a good design and excellent job by Lamar Jackson just reading it out.
04:29Toss to Henry.
04:34And a pretty good tackle by Jack Campbell.
04:37There's a flag down out on the edge.
04:39Campbell's been dealing with a bloody mouth most of the night.
04:46Low black.
04:47Defense number 32.
04:4915-yard penalty.
04:50Bateman first down.
04:52It's against Brian Branch.
05:00Here he is right here in your screen.
05:04You can't.
05:05Yeah, I don't know.
05:06I don't know.
05:07I'll leave that to you, Russell.
05:08Troy, I don't see a penalty there.
05:09I think he initiated contact high.
05:11He slipped down.
05:12I don't like that as a foul.
05:14Well, that's a big call.
05:15It takes the ball inside the Detroit 32.
05:18That'll make it first in 15 as Kohler jumped.
05:39Well, start.
05:41Office number 88.
05:42Five-yard penalty.
05:44Still first down.
05:45Let's go down to Laura.
05:49Laura.
05:49Joe, you pointed out the bandage on Jack Campbell's lip.
05:52He had a significant split cut on his lip.
05:55They worked on it for a while.
05:56Credit to the athletic training staff to get the bleeding to stop.
05:59They added a face shield to his helmet.
06:01And this is the hit where it happened.
06:03He's been dealing with a lot of pain, a lot of blood on the sideline.
06:06It was a hit from Justice Hill.
06:10Playing through it.
06:11First down and 15.
06:12They got man coverage across the board.
06:22Passes underthrown.
06:24Jackson was under pressure and Hopkins was the target.
06:28As Tyler Lacey had pressure on Lamar Jackson, he was picked up off waivers from the Jaguars.
06:35Yeah, the Lions are going to come after you.
06:37And you can tell by the way they were positioned with the defensive backs that they were locked up in man coverage.
06:42And here they were coming.
06:43And so, good job by them.
06:46Forced the ball out of Lamar Jackson's hands.
06:48And see if they can't cover for the time that it takes for him to get it out.
06:53And mission accomplished.
06:55Hey, Lord, fight for it.
06:57Hey, Lord, fight for it.
07:00Hey, what are we on there?
07:01Hey, what are you?
07:03Jackson wide open.
07:09First down.
07:10Ravens, Bateman again.
07:17And 16 yards from Lamar Jackson.
07:20Well, again, they're trying to disguise.
07:22They're going to show that they're all coming up here.
07:24And then you got Brian Branch, who's going to run to a two-deep look.
07:29And as he's running out of there, it just opens it up.
07:32You see just how much space there is then for these receivers.
07:36And Bateman just sits right down in the hole.
07:39And nice completion.
07:46Jackson wanted to take off.
07:47And he is brought to the ground.
07:50And a good play by D.J. Reeder.
07:53Dealt with a quad injury last year.
07:55They would love to see D.J. Reeder get back to the Bengals D.J. Reeder that they signed as an unrestricted free agent going into last season.
08:03And maybe another year of health will get him there.
08:05They're relying on a lot of guys, you know, this year, especially with Marcus Davenport going down again.
08:13And they had looked at maybe bringing in another edge rusher, but felt that depth was more important with all the injuries they went through last year.
08:23Second down and nine now.
08:26Jackson one-on-one.
08:28And that little battle was won by Nowoski.
08:31They blew it dead.
08:33It's not a fumble.
08:35But Jackson was making moves.
08:37And Trevor Nowoski didn't flinch and brought him down.
08:39No, he did not.
08:42He hung in there and was able to make a good tackle.
08:45Not many guys were able to do that on Lamar Jackson.
08:52He's kind of in a spy technique.
08:54And then as Lamar starts to try to scramble up in the line, boy, he was right there to make a play.
09:03And a loss of four.
09:05That's the fourth Lions sack.
09:06And for Nowoski, his first of the year, and it's third and 13.
09:23Jackson trying to find somewhere to go.
09:27Time runs out and tripped up by Barnes.
09:29And Lamar Jackson was one guy away from getting out of there.
09:38And Derek Barnes saved the day for Detroit.
09:41Kelvin Shepard loving every second of it.
09:44And Derek Barnes initially goes to coverage.
09:47He goes out and he's just kind of watching with his eyes.
09:50He's waiting for somebody to come in his area.
09:52It's just a four-man rush.
09:53And then when he sees Lamar start to move, he comes in and makes a play.
09:57And if he doesn't do that, very instinctive on his part, there was nobody out in front of Lamar.
10:03That is sack number five tonight for the Lions defense.
10:07A 41-yard try by Tyler Luke.
10:09He got it.
10:19It looked like it went over the top of the upright.
10:27And the field goal is good.
10:29That was close.
10:3028-24.
10:33Luke puts his foot into it.
10:39And it's a four-point game in Baltimore.
10:48Russell Yerke, that ball looked like it traveled over the top of the left upright.
10:53Certainly very close.
10:54The rule is the whole ball has to cross over the upright inside the outside edge.
11:00So all the ball has to be inside the outside edge.
11:03It's hard to tell for sure.
11:04That's why it's not reviewable.
11:06So the field goal was good.
11:11And this is a four-point game with the Lions about to get it back with under 10 to go.
11:15Return by Sailors.
11:30Bends it back and gets out to the 35.
11:33Продолжение следует...
12:03John Morton is the play caller, sticking with it.
12:0529 runs, 23 passes against this defense.
12:10He played the game you've got to play.
12:13Lions are over 7 yards per rush.
12:15And Troy, as you said, that 72-yarder by Montgomery inflates those numbers.
12:20But still, the impressive thing is that John Morton is stuck with it,
12:24even when at times it looked like there wasn't much room in there as Gibbs gets 5.
12:28And then, you know, what allows you to do that?
12:30What allows you to do that is converting then on third down.
12:35And Detroit has been really good on third down tonight.
12:40So then they get a new set of downs.
12:41And then they're able to run the football a couple times more.
12:44So they've been able to lean on that a little bit
12:47and kind of take the fight to this Ravens defense.
12:52Play action here is Goff lets it go.
12:55And what a good play.
12:56To slot was the target.
12:59And Nate Wiggins got his hand in there and knocked it away.
13:02Good effort.
13:03Really good effort.
13:06Roquan Smith, he's the one who blitzes and gets in the face of Jared Goff.
13:13He comes a little bit late, but there's the one-on-one matchup.
13:16And Wiggins does an excellent job in coverage, locked up man-to-man.
13:19Here's another look at Roquan Smith.
13:22But they know what's at stake.
13:23Big third down here.
13:26Third down and five.
13:27Play clock is at zero.
13:40And that's a flag.
13:42Now the officials running in.
13:46Hold on a second.
13:47Maybe the sideline got the timeout called.
13:50Prior to the play talk expiring, Detroit called the second charge timeout.
13:55So they're going to pick up the flags.
13:58And it was Dan Campbell on the sideline that called it.
14:01But the play clock just about to hit zero.
14:04It's a great job by Dan Campbell.
14:06Just, you know, paying attention and then being quick to call the timeout.
14:10I would have to.
14:11I've never been a head coach that had to do it.
14:13But, you know, here you are trying to figure out, is he going to get the ball off?
14:17Is he not going to get the ball off?
14:19And you're trying to decide that as the head coach.
14:22And he does it just in time.
14:24Goff's trying to get the ball snapped.
14:26But everyone else has their head down.
14:27He sees the play clock going down.
14:30But a big third down right here.
14:31Even with eight minutes and 48 seconds to go.
14:36If the Lions conferred here, there's a good chance they're coming away with points.
14:39If they can come away with a touchdown on this drive, you know, they get a chance to put a bow on this one.
14:43There was some room in front of Jared Goff, but he cut it loose instead of trying to pick it up with his legs.
15:02Yeah, he had him, too.
15:04If he, you know, the decision wasn't so bad.
15:07He just wasn't able to deliver the catchable ball.
15:12Now, whether or not he could have picked it up with his legs, he didn't feel that he could have.
15:17Would have been close.
15:18But he did have his guy if he makes a better throw for the first down.
15:24Raymond was the target.
15:26Passed too low.
15:27Oh, and now Fox hits it.
15:31Nice catch by Wester.
15:33Makes a move.
15:36And able to get across the 20.
15:3811-yard return, and Rakia Sin made the stop after a 50-yard punt.
15:44Back to work.
15:45Lamar Jackson, his team down four in this week three matchup.
15:53Tonight's game recap is brought to you by Fireball.
15:57And it was that second-quarter goal-line stand by this Lions defense.
16:03That's the fourth down play.
16:05Where the ball got knocked out of the hand of Lamar Jackson by Jack Campbell.
16:12This defense, last time the Ravens had it, came up with two sacks, and they have five sacks tonight.
16:18This drive starts at the 21, down by four.
16:23Hand off to Henry, and he gets it punched out.
16:26It's recovered by DJ Reed.
16:29Knocked out on the play by Aiden Hutchinson.
16:33And it's yet another fumble for Derrick Henry.
16:36And that's one fumble per game by Derrick Henry, and it was Aiden Hutchinson right there that knocked it out of the left arm of Derrick Henry.
17:00Yeah, he was up the field.
17:01He was taking care of Lamar Jackson.
17:04And so as he gets up the field, but he just continues to play.
17:08And so he works back pure effort.
17:10And once he peels back, Henry doesn't know that he's pursuing the football and then is able to punch it out.
17:15It was a crushing fumble that he had in week one at Buffalo.
17:22They got through it last week.
17:26And this one, how much is this going to hurt as they hand to Montgomery with under eight and a half to go?
17:37Here's the week one fumble.
17:40In that game at the Bills, it was punched out.
17:43They blew a 40-25 fourth quarter lead with four minutes to play and lost that ball game 41-40.
17:52And now here tonight, Hutchinson knocks it out of his left arm, and D.J. Reed recovers.
17:57Great job by Hutchinson, just continuing to play, even though it looked like he was out of the play.
18:03Just pure effort.
18:07Montgomery right up the gut, down to the five, and a flag comes in at the end of the play.
18:13Yeah, Ravens are signaling it's going to go on Detroit with a hold.
18:18And it is.
18:19It's going against Detroit.
18:20That was the indication.
18:24Personal foul.
18:25Face mask.
18:27Offense number 73.
18:2915-yard penalty.
18:30Defeat second out.
18:31They get Christian Mahogany, the second-year pro from Boston College, and Brent Urban is the one who had his face mask grabbed right here by Mahogany.
18:44And instead of first and goal with the ball at the five, that 15-yard penalty takes the ball back out to the 28th.
18:55Well, that certainly helps.
18:57You take a look here at Derrick Henry with the fumbles that have plagued him this year.
19:05For this defense, they've got to be able to make a stop.
19:08They have not been able to make a stop in the red zone tonight, but that penalty sure helps.
19:14Second and 22 as a result.
19:19They hand it gives.
19:21Not much.
19:22Let's go back to that fumble forced by Aiden Hutchinson on the carry by Henry.
19:34You see, he's worried about Lamar Jackson, and he comes up the field, and he just continues to play.
19:41And in big games like this, you need your great players to show up big.
19:45Well, he certainly did.
19:48Now, can the Ravens defensively do their part to keep this one possession game?
19:55His third down and 21.
20:03This one floated for to slot.
20:07Incomplete.
20:09Fourth down.
20:09And one other note on the fumbles by Henry.
20:11Henry, it's the first time in his 10-year career he has had multiple fourth-quarter fumbles lost in the same season.
20:19And we're just in week three.
20:22Well, I think if you look at it, or Derrick Henry, he's got to get that out of his mind as quickly as he possibly can.
20:30Because they're going to need him on this next possession.
20:33After the opening drive, he really hasn't done anything the rest of the night as far as on the ground.
20:38Now, 45-yard try to make it a seven-point game again by Bates.
20:46And he drills it.
20:4931-24.
20:54And Henry, as Troy said, is going to have to go back to work and forget about the fumbles.
20:59He is frustrated.
21:00We saw this in Buffalo, and we see it tonight here at home.
21:05Seven-point game.
21:07Lions on top.
21:11Earlier, DJ Reid recovers the fumble that was forced by Aiden Hutchinson, and they were ready.
21:19He looked like our producer, Steve Ackles, rolling that ball.
21:22Remember when we were bowling that night?
21:24He was talented.
21:25He is a talent.
21:26He's our producer, Artie Kempner, our director, with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge down on the field.
21:37Troy and Joe up in the booth, and six-and-a-half to go.
21:43Rasheen Ali to return another kick, and he's back there with Justice Hill.
21:49Yeah, the defense did their part.
21:50They've given up some big drives, long drives for touchdowns, but, man, they needed him on that last one, and they showed up.
22:01It's Ali from about the 10 to the 31.
22:09Aiden Hutchinson, anytime he's involved in the game.
22:13Some cameras are on him as we look at his effort and his evening tonight.
22:20Well, we heard Laura earlier talk about how he's got the green light.
22:24He can line up where he wants and kind of do what he wants, and with that flexibility, we've seen him tonight line up on both sides.
22:32He typically would line up on the defensive left against the offensive right tackle.
22:37This year, he's mixing it up a little bit more, but as all great players do, they show up and make big plays when they need it, and he did on that last drive.
22:46Lamar Jackson, there he is, Hutchinson.
22:50Sack number six for the Lions.
22:57The family loves it.
22:59Mom and dad love it, and a loss of six on the play.
23:02This time, he takes an inside move.
23:04You're going to see Ronnie Stanley, the left tackle, as he slides out.
23:08They're moving protection that way to try to take care of him, and yet he takes an inside counter move, and then has a straight shot on Lamar.
23:22Now, second down and 16.
23:28Here's Hill.
23:29Terri on Arnold first to get to him.
23:34Third down coming up.
23:37Gain of four.
23:39Yesterday, the NFC North watched Green Bay suffer their first loss of the year as they blew that late lead and lost to the Cleveland Browns.
23:50So they go to two and one.
23:54Lions trying to get to two and one.
23:55Same story for the Ravens.
23:57Seven-point game.
23:58Third down and 12.
23:59Jackson can't find anywhere to go, and he's brought down again from behind.
24:17And again, it's Al-Quddin Muhammad.
24:20It'll go down as a run.
24:22It's not a sack, but it is an effective play by 96 again.
24:26Yeah, no doubt, Joe, the effort that he has shown.
24:30I pointed it out a little bit earlier.
24:32This is what the coaches like so much about him coming off the ball as he comes up the field here, and then he just continues to play.
24:41Anzalone misses him, but yet he's there to clean it up.
24:44He's there to clean it up.
24:44He's there to clean it up.
24:45He's there to clean it up.
24:46Stout hits it.
24:47Raymond waiting for it as that punt will head out of bounds.
24:51Calvin Shepard has done some job.
25:03Look how far this ball went out of bounds up at the 30.
25:06That's where they'll mark it.
25:07Just a 38-yard punt, and here is Al-Quddin Muhammad not quitting on the play, and Kelvin Shepard told us Al-Quddin Muhammad is going to be okay as kind of the last man standing across from Aiden Hutchinson to rush in.
25:24Yeah, they like him, and I like Kelvin Shepard and what he has brought.
25:29But, you know, he's continued to play the style, and I'm not surprised.
25:34Dan Campbell knows what he wants his team to be.
25:37He felt Kelvin Shepard was the guy to name him as the defensive coordinator.
25:42They continue to play this aggressive style.
25:44They take it to these offenses, and the defense has responded to him.
25:49Here's Green crashing down on it.
25:51Gibbs runs away from him, and he is out of bounds, but a nice gain on first down.
25:59Maybe just a little bit more on Kelvin Shepard, who, as I mentioned earlier, had an eight-year playing career as a linebacker.
26:12He's been the linebacker's coach with this team, the Lions, since 2022.
26:19Played for Buffalo, Miami, the Giants, Indianapolis, Detroit.
26:22Never thought he would be a coach, but now that he's in it, he loves it.
26:27Yeah, Dan Campbell said when he was with him in Miami, he always knew he'd make a great coach when he was still a player.
26:33Here's a strong run for a first down by Gibbs.
26:37And the good teams, and you certainly were on one of them, that could do what the Lions are trying to do.
26:44Salt away a lead.
26:45They're up by seven.
26:46Run the ball.
26:47Run the clock down.
26:48And when you know the runs are coming and you can't stop it,
26:51that means that this young offensive line is doing a good job for the Lions.
26:55Yes, that's true.
26:56And I was going to say, Joe, it's harder and harder for teams to do that.
27:00It's never been easy.
27:01But it's become increasingly harder as we've gone more to these spread offenses.
27:05Teams have relied more on the pass.
27:07That it's hard to run the football when the defense knows you're going to.
27:11But the Lions, as Dan Campbell often says, they're built for this.
27:16Gibbs.
27:18Well played by the Ravens defense, a game of two.
27:23You know, we talked about the young guards that the Lions have.
27:27They have the tenure vet, Glasgow, at center.
27:29And then two outstanding tackles.
27:32Panay Sewell, who's one of the best players in the league.
27:35That's him right in the middle, 58.
27:37And Taylor Decker, who's playing through a bad shoulder, 68, out at left tackle.
27:43And last year, and really for the last several years, they've been so strong.
27:48And this team, I don't think it's a stretch to say they're going to go
27:52as far as those young guards allow them to go
27:55because they're pretty solid everywhere else.
27:58But they've had a good showing tonight.
28:00Second and eight.
28:02And hand to Montgomery.
28:03Third down coming up.
28:07The Lions have a date with the Browns next.
28:11As I mentioned, Browns just beat Green Bay.
28:14Then they're at Cincinnati.
28:15The Joe Burrell-less Bengals at Kansas City.
28:21And then back on Monday night football
28:23before their bye week against the Tampa Bay Bucs.
28:26I think Dan Campbell's looking at this, and he knows, you know,
28:28they're going to try to get this down, but the ball has to be.
28:30They're not going to be able to take this to the two-minute warning.
28:33It's just a split second off.
28:40It's third down at five, and because of that, they can throw a pass.
28:43It's safe.
28:49Gibbs won't get it.
28:51Brought down by Roquan Smith, and we are at the two-minute warning
28:54with a minute 56 to go, and it'll be fourth down when we come back.
28:59The ball is just on the Lions' side of midfield.
29:04They lead by seven with under two to go, and a good one here in week three.
29:09How are you?
29:19Scott Van Pelt coming up on the Nationwide Post game.
29:22We will visit with one of the stars of the game here from both quarterbacks.
29:25Coaches go inside the winning locker room as well
29:29and look forward to talking about this fantastic game with you and Troy.
29:32Joe, back to you.
29:33Fourth and two.
29:34Yep, yeah, and fourth and two, and the Lions' Troy look like they're going to go for it.
29:39They're two for two on fourth down tries in this game.
29:42Yeah, maybe they try to hard count, draw them off sides,
29:45but didn't appear to be any hesitation from Dan Campbell.
29:48Not surprised.
29:49He's got big onions.
29:51I mean, this is a bold move.
29:53Even with a first down, they cannot run out the clock
29:56because the Ravens still have all three timeouts.
30:04Montgomery in the backfield on fourth and two.
30:09Goff keeps.
30:10Floats.
30:11Amonra!
30:12Perfect throw and catch!
30:15Unreal!
30:16But a flag is down back at the 50.
30:22Here's the call.
30:25Holding.
30:26Defense number 44.
30:28Penalty's decline.
30:29Results of the play, his first down.
30:30Troy, how good was that throw?
30:32It was his best throw of the night.
30:34I mean, this, with what was on the line, this ball had to be perfect.
30:39Marlon Humphrey, number 44, is going to be the one who grabs,
30:42and he's got his eyes in the backfield.
30:44He's just not anticipating that St. Brown's going to go out on the route.
30:48But this ball, he had a step.
30:49I'm watching it the whole way.
30:51But you've got to make this throw.
30:52And the great ones make it.
30:54And Jared Goff lays it out there perfectly on fourth down.
30:59That's as good as it gets.
31:0220 yards on fourth down and two.
31:04They're three for three going forward on fourth down.
31:06You think these guys have any fun playing for Dan Gamble?
31:11Yeah, that's...
31:12I mean, they know what they're going to do.
31:15I mean, it's no surprise.
31:19Jared will be asked about it after this game.
31:21He'll answer it.
31:22There was never a doubt that they were going to go for it on fourth.
31:25It's what they're used to, the way they're built.
31:29Now Montgomery, he's going to break.
31:32David Montgomery is in for the touchdown!
31:37Just a stunning, stunning couple of plays back-to-back.
31:51And the Detroit Lions, it appears, are going to walk out of here with their second win of the year.
31:57Well, we come in talking about these young guards, Mahogany and Tate Radledge, and the job that they have done tonight, and really all five of those guys, along with the receivers.
32:11Jamison Williams, he's down the field blocking.
32:13Jamison, 225 yards rushing tonight for the Detroit Lions.
32:19Goff's telling them to go down.
32:21Unless he could score.
32:23And then it's okay.
32:2531 yards, and the Lions rushing attack in this game.
32:29Four rushing touchdowns.
32:33225 rush yards.
32:37And this is a 14-point game.
32:39And there's Taylor Decker with a hug for David Montgomery.
32:45Graham Glasgow, the 10-year vet at center.
32:49Boy, this is some impressive night.
32:52Hank Fraley, his nickname was Honey Buns when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles.
32:58What a job he's done with that group.
33:00And look at the rush yards tonight.
33:02And then when the Lions needed a perfect throw from Jared Goff all night long, they got it.
33:06Well, as someone who was a part of a great offensive line and a great running back and being able to do what the Lions have done tonight and ice a game, I know how good that feels.
33:18You know, Jared Goff delivered the perfect throw on fourth down.
33:22But you mentioned Hank Fraley, the job that he's done with this group and what he's done since he came here to Detroit.
33:27And these young guys, and they've been questioned all week long, even after their performance last week.
33:34And to have the night they've had on the road in a big game, we talked about it being a measuring stick tonight.
33:39I mean, that's going to be one heck of a plane ride back to Detroit.
33:44No head coach goes for it more on fourth down.
33:47He's done it three more times tonight since he's been head coach in 2021.
33:51Ali will take a knee and will come out to the 35.
33:59Think about Dan Campbell taking over in 2021.
34:04He got three wins his first year, nine wins his second, 12 wins, franchise record 15 last year.
34:11He's got this team humming again here in 2025.
34:15This is a big win here tonight in Baltimore after that loss at Green Bay.
34:20Yes, they beat the Bears, but this has a different feel.
34:23I agree.
34:24And they all count the same.
34:27You know, there's 17 of them, but there are some that feel a little bit different.
34:31And this is one of those.
34:34Still a minute 42 remaining, three timeouts, but a 14-point game now.
34:38As Bateman downfield, it's out of his reach.
34:41Terri on Arnold with good coverage that time for the Lions.
34:49Lamar Jackson, his numbers, 18 of 24, 210.
34:55Those long drives just kept him off the field.
34:58They had two drives of over 95 yards for touchdowns tonight.
35:03The Lions did.
35:04Yeah, just 49 plays right now offensively for Baltimore.
35:08And they had their opportunities, and offensively, they're not going to feel good about what they did.
35:16Second down and 10.
35:18Jackson.
35:20In trouble again.
35:21And another sack.
35:23This time, it's Anzalone and Al-Quddin Muhammad, who's been everywhere tonight, and that is a seven-sack night for the Lions on Lamar Jackson.
35:39Calvin Shepard better get a game of ball, better get a game ball in this one tonight, too.
35:46Yeah.
35:47You know, I mentioned it.
35:48I was as anxious as anyone to see how the Lions would do with new coordinators.
35:52These guys, John Morton, Calvin Shepard.
35:54Big hit by Branch, and a nice job by Hill.
36:00Survives that hit.
36:01Out of bounds he goes.
36:05You know, you really got to give Dan Campbell all the credit.
36:09You know, we show the point, or excuse me, the win totals and how he's increased them.
36:13He'll have a hard time increasing from last year.
36:16Yeah, 15-2, but, you know, it's hard when you lose your coordinators.
36:21It's hard when you lose as many coaches off the staff as he did this past year, and then you're replacing them and then starting over.
36:29And, I mean, it is really hard on a lot of levels, football-wise, but also to him personally.
36:36And yet, he filled those vacancies, and by all accounts, it looks like he did a great job with it.
36:43Nice throwing catch.
36:44Coach Bateman made the grab.
36:46It's a total of eight, if you want to put a number to it.
36:48The two coordinators and six assistant coaches, and yet they've filled in.
36:54These teams kind of mirror each other.
36:56They've got great coordinators.
36:58They've got GMs that find talent everywhere.
37:01They've got good ownership.
37:02Got a head coach that is in control, in charge.
37:06They've got great rosters.
37:07And for Dan Campbell to fill in with eight new coaches under him with the Lions, it's impressive.
37:19Jackson steps through.
37:22Chase down from behind, and now out of bounds as Branch gets there for Detroit.
37:28You know, when we talked to Dan Campbell about the respect that he has for the Baltimore Ravens,
37:33and he said as a first-time head coach, you ask yourself what you want your program to look like,
37:38and Baltimore is that team.
37:41And they've been doing it at a high level for 30 years.
37:44And Dan Campbell said, you know, that's what I wanted my program to look like,
37:48the way in which they compete, their physical style, their aggressive,
37:52and everything is kind of in unison throughout the organization.
37:57The people they bring in, Eric DaCosta, of course, who replaced Ozzie Newsom as the general manager,
38:03and they just, there's so much continuity in how they run the organization in Baltimore,
38:09and in Detroit, has been the same way.
38:12And the proof is in the results.
38:15It was Ozzie.
38:17Hall of Famer two times over.
38:20Second down and seven.
38:22Jackson backpedaling, Andrews wide open, one-on-one,
38:28and he'll take it in, his second of the night, with 29 seconds to go.
38:38They'll go for two, and then we'll have an onside kick.
38:44So nothing happens easy in this league.
38:48Yesterday was a crazy day around the NFL.
38:50This would easily go down as the craziest if the Ravens were to get up off the deck,
38:5614 points down with under two minutes to go.
39:00You know, we've been around this game a little too long, as has Jared Goff.
39:05When we showed him, you saw the look on his face after that touchdown.
39:09Two-point try will be their first of the year.
39:27Jackson flips it.
39:30Flag is down in the end zone.
39:31And it's a hold against the Lions.
39:39We've referenced the crazy day that yesterday was around the NFL yesterday.
39:45Holding defense number 32.
39:48Ineligible receiver downfield.
39:49Offense number 77.
39:51Penalty is offset.
39:52Retry.
39:53So we'll retry the two-point conversion.
39:55There were nine defensive and special teams touchdowns this week, most in five years.
40:05And the first day in NFL history with multiple blocked field goals returned for touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
40:12Both with under two minutes to play yesterday.
40:17Backpedaling and incomplete for Zay Flowers.
40:19And here's a little look at what the league presented to us yesterday.
40:27Has it blocked again?
40:30The kick is blocked.
40:31Field goal tough is blocked.
40:33Scooped up.
40:34That will be taken all the way.
40:36It's over.
40:37And the Chargers remain unbeaten.
40:40San Francisco is in first place.
40:43They win it at the Horde.
40:44So there's just some of it in week three.
40:51The special teams craziness blocked field goal return for a touchdown to end the game for Philly.
40:56They blocked what would have been a game-winning field goal had it been hit by the Rams.
41:01And then you can look at those other little nuggets right there.
41:06It was crazy.
41:07And now, I guess, what would only add to that would be if the Ravens come up with the second successful onside kick of the season.
41:17Teams are one for 11.
41:20The only team to get one was Carolina in week two at Arizona.
41:23One other little note before we run out of time at the end.
41:32This is only the second time the Ravens defense has allowed four rushing touchdowns at home in their 30-year history since 96.
41:45And that's what the Lions have done tonight.
41:48And the Lions will take over with 27 seconds to go.
42:06And that'll do it.
42:07That'll do it.
42:08This is, as you mentioned, Joe, this is going to be a good win for whoever won it.
42:12But, for Detroit to be able to win on the road, you can see what it means to Dan Campbell and that sidelines and everybody in a Lions uniform.
42:24But, you know, this is a Ravens team that I still think is one of the best.
42:30And, you know, you dig yourself a little bit of a hole.
42:33The good news is there's still a lot of football left to be played.
42:37But they've got a lot to clean up.
42:38There is some bad news, though.
42:39They do have three upcoming opponents the next three weeks.
42:43It all played in the divisional round of the playoffs.
42:45And they will head into Kansas City next week with a record of 1 and 2.
42:51That game on Sunday.
42:55And this is an eight-point win for the Lions to get to 2 and 1.
43:01And this was an impressive night all the way around for Detroit.
43:0438 carries on the night for the Lions, 224 yards, four touchdowns, golf, 20 of 28, 2 0 2, one touchdown, no picks.
43:16And he made some big throws when they mattered most.
43:19Well, he sure did.
43:20And what they were able to do on third down tonight, you know, it was, in a lot of ways, a difference.
43:27But when they needed him to make the throw and deliver, he did it.
43:32Let's send it down to Laura Rutledge with Jared Goff.
43:35All right.
43:36I'm corralling him here.
43:37Jared, let's start with the going for it on fourth and two.
43:40You make an incredible throw to a Monroe St. Brown.
43:42Why did that play work?
43:44Yeah, we kind of had that one in our back pocket all day.
43:46And then I was kind of begging for it throughout the game.
43:48And Dan was holding it, and that was the perfect moment for it.
43:50And it worked great.
43:51It looked like you were telling David Montgomery to go down two before he scored, but then he scored, right?
43:56Yeah, I think I might be wrong there.
43:57I think we want to score there.
43:58So I'm glad he did.
43:59But I was thinking the game might have been over, but I'm glad he scored.
44:03Yeah, it worked out well.
44:03How would you describe the way this offense operated tonight, really eating up the clock and doing the things you wanted to do?
44:09Did exactly what we wanted to do.
44:10We talked about it all week, being able to sustain long drives, keep their offense.
44:13Off the field, and, you know, we needed all these points tonight, and that offense is dang good, and we got them all.
44:19What can you say about your defense limiting Lamar at times?
44:22They were incredible.
44:22They really were, and they were forcing turnovers.
44:24And to be honest, we didn't capitalize great on turnovers, but we did enough to win, and I thought our defense was stellar.
44:30All right, thanks so much, Jared.
44:31Congrats.
44:31Thank you.
44:31Appreciate it.
44:32Joe.
44:32Yeah, Laura, just to put a number to it, seven sacks by that Detroit defense, none by the Ravens tonight of Jared Goff.
44:40And what a night it was.
44:42Back and forth, back and forth they went.
44:44And in the end, it was Detroit getting the eight-point win to get to two and one and send the Ravens to one and two.
44:51Final score, 38-30.
44:54Until next week, our group will be in Denver for the Bengals and the Broncos.
45:01Also, the Dolphins and Jets in a doubleheader.
45:04Monday night postgame presented by Nationwide with SVP starts now.
