00:00Se você é uma fã, esse é o que você quer ver.
00:04O que é o outside zone ou o Alís favor de pin e pole.
00:07A gente vai.
00:08O que é isso.
00:11Uma segunda parte.
00:19A Haltime Show está na Arizona.
00:25A jogo para o Ryan Fitzpatrick.
00:27Sim, sr.
00:27E a home game for you and many next week
00:31in LA. Great game. Another
00:33NFC West matchup. No Titans
00:35games unless we flex. No.
00:38Maybe next year.
00:39New stadium in a couple years.
00:41Maybe in 27. Get a Vanderbilt game.
00:44The 19 yard
00:45line
00:46Charbonnet picks up one
00:49second down. Been a good
00:51drive. Obviously
00:53by Sam Darnold
00:55in command. They got a big
00:57opportunity here. One forty five
01:00and counting. They get a chance
01:02like we've seen we talk about
01:03every week for two for one chance
01:05to score here at the end of the
01:06half. They're not going to be in a
01:07hurry here to give Murray much time
01:09to work with and then they get
01:11the ball to start the second
01:12half.
01:15Minute and a half.
01:17Second to Nate.
01:23Deep deep drop.
01:25And zone.
01:25Flag is thrown and incomplete.
01:30Let's see about the flag intended
01:31for Arroyo.
01:35Baker says.
01:37Mass interference.
01:38Defense number three.
01:40The foul up third in the end zone.
01:41The ball goes to the one yard line.
01:42First down.
01:44Well we brag a lot about Buda Baker
01:46and he is
01:47in a tough spot where he turns
01:49really never finds the football
01:52and just makes the interference
01:53right there. He tries to strip at the
01:55hands. But let's go back to the
01:57throw by Sam Darnold off of the play
01:59action. He's going to he's been
02:01showing us a lot ability. Great
02:03technique. Look at it falling back
02:05and throwing to his left and look at
02:07that location of that ball right on
02:09the money. But Baker out of
02:11position there. They asked him to do
02:13so much in his defense and
02:14that time the tight end got behind
02:16him. He had to play catch up.
02:21From the one.
02:24Stumbles a little bit.
02:26And Charbonnet is
02:27stopped at the one yard line.
02:29second down and goal.
02:31One to ten.
02:32Now I think he got stepped on
02:34by Anthony Bradford the right
02:36tackle.
02:37Or the right guard rather.
02:3811 seconds.
02:39This will be a 30 second time
02:41up.
02:41Foot right there. Looks like he got
02:43him. Good job. Again the athletic
02:45ability by Darnold to be able to
02:47keep his his footing. There's a step
02:49right there. Look at that. I mean
02:50that's a big man at 335.
02:54And a heck of a job.
02:55Just even though they didn't score
02:56just finishing that play.
02:57He stepped on by any of the
03:00offensive linemen.
03:01Not good.
03:02He had a problem.
03:02Meanwhile the timeout was taken
03:03by Arizona.
03:04They're just trying to conserve
03:05some time on the other side to
03:07get the ball back.
03:09Smart.
03:09Yep.
03:10Second down and goal.
03:16Charbonnet and Brady Russell.
03:19Russell's the fullback.
03:22Charbonnet's the tailback.
03:23Make it to him.
03:25Donald rolling.
03:26Throwing.
03:27That's incomplete.
03:28Trying to get that one to
03:30Elijah Arroyo.
03:33Our friend Peter Schrager was
03:34touting it.
03:35Yeah.
03:36He's a guy who might score a
03:37touchdown.
03:38I think he could have walked.
03:39Yeah.
03:39He's done a good job of getting
03:41outside on these boots and
03:42throwing.
03:43But he's got the left guard,
03:45Sable.
03:45The rookie.
03:46Look out in front.
03:46If he breaks container, he walks
03:48to the corner with 76 out in
03:51front of him.
03:52Good job.
03:53I know he wants to keep his
03:54vision downfield.
03:55He wants to make the throw.
03:56But boy, with that guard out in
03:58front, that's a touchdown if he
03:59decides to pull it.
04:00third and goal.
04:05Keep it on the ground.
04:07And does he get in?
04:09Yes, with that second effort.
04:12Zach Charbonnet.
04:14Hit by Thompson.
04:15Looked like he had him stop for a
04:17second.
04:18First forward.
04:19And look, Max Melton, the corner
04:21also got involved.
04:23And that's at 16.
04:24That's the guy that really hit him.
04:26Watch 16.
04:26Bang!
04:27Right there.
04:27Doesn't wrap up.
04:28And that's what allows Charbonnet
04:30to be able to keep moving his feet.
04:32He and Walker, such a good
04:33combination.
04:34It's good to see Charbonnet back
04:35healthy.
04:37And that time using the power to
04:40get over top of that corner for
04:42the touchdown.
04:42Interesting, too.
04:43Walker didn't play on this
04:45drive.
04:45He hasn't played since that
04:46penalty.
04:47That's right.
04:47So Charbonnet does the heavy
04:50lifting.
04:52Extra point now for Jason Myers.
04:53He's good.
04:55And with 61 seconds remaining in
04:57the opening half, Seattle extends
05:00his lead to 14-3.
05:02Here in Arizona, let me draw your
05:17attention to the Cardinals
05:19uniforms.
05:20Tonight's the debut of the NFL's
05:21new rivalries uniforms.
05:23And over the next four seasons,
05:25each team will get the opportunity
05:26to wear a unique uniform reflective
05:28of their history and community
05:30against a division rival.
05:32Can you see Arizona's inspiration
05:33here, guys?
05:34The colors of the desert is if they
05:36got caught up in a sandstorm.
05:37The Seahawks will show theirs off
05:38to us when we're there week 16
05:40against the Rams.
05:41Yeah, it's all speckled.
05:43They look pretty cool.
05:44They turned to the 27 here.
05:46This will be something that Nick
05:48Rollis, the defensive coordinator
05:49and Jonathan Gannon won't like.
05:50Josh Sweat, who's a leader, by the
05:51way, was upset with something
05:53during a timeout about three plays
05:55earlier.
05:55Here's just a loaf.
05:56Just not hustling to finish the play.
05:58If he finishes on that play,
06:00he's probably able to, because of
06:02the effort by Milton, 16, he's
06:04probably, if he hustles here,
06:06doesn't give up on it right here.
06:08Keep coming.
06:09Keep coming.
06:09Now you can get there and, with
06:11your size and strength, pull him
06:12back.
06:13And there's Campbell to vent.
06:15Two vets there talking about what
06:16they need to do to start playing
06:18better as a group.
06:19Yeah, time for no sweat.
06:21Oh, never mind.
06:21Murray over the middle, and it's
06:26almost picked.
06:28That time Julian Love is there.
06:31Almost another interception.
06:33Well, these safeties don't feel
06:35any threat downfield, and because
06:38of that, you're seeing Love, who's
06:40thinking, I got 85, which way is
06:42he going to go?
06:43Now I'm going to jump it.
06:44He's not worried about anything
06:46that's going to go by him.
06:47There's no receivers.
06:48They haven't done anything tonight
06:49over their heads, so they're
06:50playing tight, and they're
06:52anticipating throws, and Murray
06:54caught a break there.
06:56Second and ten.
06:58Four-man rush to the outside.
07:01And that one is short, too.
07:03Mafe put the heat on.
07:05Well, the crowd is very
07:09frustrated with number eight.
07:11By the way, if you follow
07:13football, obviously you know
07:14Marvin Harrison is the son of
07:17Marvin Harrison, who caught 900-some
07:20on passes from Peyton Manning alone.
07:22Yeah, yeah, obviously a brilliant
07:24career, and his son is very
07:27differently built, different style,
07:29but there's another example of he
07:31and his quarterback not on the
07:32same page.
07:34A lot of examples in the last four
07:37games.
07:38Third and ten.
07:39Dorch, and Dorch picks up the first
07:44down, so they don't have to punt it
07:47back here.
07:48They'll take a timeout, first down
07:50and ten, but they're on thirty-seven.
07:52They're second and a half.
07:54Thirty seconds in length.
07:56So next week, we're going to stay in
07:58the NFC West.
07:59We move over to L.A., SoFi Stadium.
08:0349ers against the Rams.
08:04Now, the 49ers, Christian McCaffrey
08:06and company, despite all of the
08:08injuries, they're the only undefeated
08:10team in this division.
08:12They've got Jacksonville at home
08:13on Sunday, and the Rams will be
08:16taking on the Indianapolis Colts,
08:19one of the surprising 3-0 teams,
08:22before we see them on Thursday night
08:25next week.
08:26That Danny Jones, right?
08:27Danny Jones getting it done.
08:29Indiana Jones, they call him.
08:31Murray, sack, back at the 30-yard line,
08:35Leonard Williams.
08:40This defensive front, we've talked
08:42about it throughout this broadcast,
08:44you don't have a lot of time as a
08:46quarterback because they're only
08:47rushing four.
08:49They don't have to blitz, they're
08:50able to play zone, the windows are
08:51taken away, and then the pressure
08:52gets to you.
08:53Second and 17, they'll stop up at
08:56the 36-yard line, they have a
08:59timeout, but not using it, and the
09:03boos will rain down.
09:08Now they call the timeout with
09:11two seconds?
09:13Okay.
09:16Now what?
09:17Now what?
09:18I think a Hail Mary and hope for a
09:19pass interference call.
09:21Hail Mary, a couple of laterals,
09:23they knew coming in tonight, without
09:29James Conner, even with James Conner,
09:31this is a really good defense.
09:34Mike McDonald has a group that
09:36understands his scheme, they
09:37understand the attack, there's the
09:39divisional records, the Niners still
09:41undefeated, and a bunch of two and
09:42ones, but they can, when you can get
09:45pressure with four, the defense
09:46understands exactly what to do, and they
09:49can keep eyes on a quarterback, and
09:51you can't run the ball.
09:52Timeout.
09:53Seattle, that's their second of the
09:54half, 30 seconds.
09:55Well, it's a great, there's no
09:58question, Seattle's got a really
10:00top-grade defense.
10:02defense, Arizona, I mean, that loss of
10:05Conner is not only big on the field, it
10:07is very big in that locker room.
10:10Yeah, the leadership, I mean, you're
10:12taking the alpha off of the offense,
10:14the guy that everybody, they fed their
10:16offense through him, and they fed off
10:18of his energy.
10:19So, Kyler Murray becomes, you know, it's
10:21his offense, but now it really becomes
10:24him, and when you've got a young
10:26superstar receiver that is struggling,
10:29you're trying to, who's the guy other
10:30than the tight end McBride that can
10:32help you consistently make plays?
10:35It makes it pretty tough.
10:38All right, barring a defensive foul,
10:39this will end the half here.
10:40two-man rush, now you've got Michael
10:50Wilson, to what avail, well, Coach
11:03Gannon is moving over where Kaylee is
11:06going to talk to him, and it's
11:08interesting to see what he's got to
11:09say, Kaylee, it's yours.
11:11Jonathan, we've heard the boos.
11:12What's your reaction as you head into
11:13the locker room down 11?
11:14Yeah, we're getting killed in the
11:17explosive play battle, so we've got
11:18to do a better job on defense to
11:19stopping explosives, and then we've
11:21got to generate something on
11:22offense, but on offense, we've got to
11:24get in rhythm, stay on the field.
11:25I like the one drive, and we ended up
11:26turning it over, but we've just got
11:27to get going on offense, score some
11:29points.
11:30Who do you look to to create that
11:31rhythm?
11:32Everybody.
11:32They're all playmakers.
11:33We've got to get them the ball and
11:34get them in space and get going.
11:36Thanks, John.
11:36Thanks, Kaylee.
11:36All right, coming up with a score
11:4014-3, Seattle at the break.
11:43After the break, the State Farm
11:44Halftime Show, Carissa and the
11:47gang.
11:47Next week.
11:48Welcome to the State Farm Halftime
12:01Show.
12:01A pair of NFC West rivals, Seattle and
12:03Arizona, enter tonight with identical
12:052-1 records, and right now the Seahawks
12:07leading the Cardinals 14-3 at the
12:10half, courtesy of strong performances
12:12on both sides of the ball.
12:14And with that, we welcome you down onto
12:16the field at State Farm Stadium.
12:17I'm Carissa Thompson alongside Tony
12:19Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew
12:20Whitworth, and Richard Sherman, and
12:22Little John is performing, so we are
12:24also very excited about that.
12:25More on that in a second.
12:27Seattle Sherman, though, has to be
12:28excited about the way they finish the
12:30end of the first half, getting in the
12:32end zone.
12:32What do you see?
12:33I saw a long drive, a confident
12:34team, and you saw Sam Darnold really
12:36taking over with his athleticism.
12:38You see right here, first play, doesn't
12:41see anything early, gets out of the
12:42pocket, sees a mismatch down the field,
12:44pushing it to a Royo, great catch,
12:46mismatch with a D-lineman.
12:48Here you see him get down the field,
12:50see an opening, the defense is drifting
12:52to the left, he does it with his legs,
12:54gets as much as he can get, gets down.
12:57Then you see right here, Charbonnet just
12:58powered, but here comes Charles Cross to
13:00push him in the end zone.
13:02Incredible play, incredible drive by this
13:04offense.
13:04Yeah, I mean, Sam Darnold, obviously
13:05somebody you think about in the play
13:07action game, the success he's had, he's
13:087-7 for 111 yards and a touchdown, not
13:11using play action.
13:12Seattle's really leaned on tight end
13:14sets, 25 of 30 plays in the first
13:16half, using multiple tight ends, and
13:18they're running the football outside
13:20the tackles, that's where they've had
13:21their success.
13:22Fizz, we talked about it during the
13:23pregame, who was going to step up in
13:24the absence of James Conner?
13:26Marvin Harrison Jr.
13:28and Kyler Murray don't seem like they're
13:29on the same page again.
13:31Marvin Harrison, his third drop in the
13:32last four games, how do you turn this
13:33thing around?
13:34Yeah, it couldn't have been a worse
13:35first half.
13:36I mean, it's uninspired play.
13:37They're getting booed, and rightfully
13:38so, but we see the plays here with
13:41Marvin Harrison Jr.
13:42and Kyler.
13:42This was the early one with the
13:44interception.
13:45Marvin was wheeling out to go because
13:47he caught, Kyler was taken off.
13:49He wasn't taken off, he was throwing
13:51the ball.
13:51That's on both of them with
13:52communication.
13:53I don't like the uninspired effort of
13:54him trying to track down that
13:55interception.
13:57This here, it looks like Kyler didn't
13:58get the coverage right.
14:00Marvin with the big drop here.
14:02It's just been very difficult.
14:04Marvin Harrison Jr.
14:05Coming to this game, he had a lot on
14:07him, Tony.
14:08But if I'm Kyler Murray, I'm in his
14:10face on the sideline.
14:11I'm talking to him.
14:12I'm doing something to get the best
14:14out of this guy.
14:15And you got to it because you look
14:16at him on the sideline, he looks like
14:17a deer in the headlights right now.
14:19And it's like, wake up!
14:20Man, you have all this talent.
14:22You can help this team be so much
14:23better.
14:23But it does come from the
14:24quarterback.
14:25I don't know if it's Calais Campbell.
14:26Somebody go over there and get this
14:28kid going because they're not going to
14:29have success if they don't have him.
14:31This guy is an extraordinary talent
14:33and they got to get him going.
14:34It's just too much.
14:35This defense, they're thriving
14:36how they thrive for Seattle.
14:38They've got six pressures and two sacks,
14:40blitzing nobody, just rushing
14:41their four guys.
14:43Arizona's got to block them up if
14:44they want a chance to come back
14:45in this game.
14:45Yeah, the second straight game that
14:47the Seahawks haven't allowed a
14:48first-half touchdown.
14:50Hey, Fitz, look who's here tonight.
14:52Our buddy, Jake from State Farm, got
14:55everyone going to start this game
14:57off.
14:58Big red air raid siren.
15:01Well, he's going to need to crank
15:02that thing up if you're an Arizona
15:03Cardinals fan in the second half.
15:05As we go to break, though, let's take
15:07another look at the play in the first
15:09half.
15:09Sam Darnold's perfect pass to A.J.
15:12Barnard.
15:13Seattle lead this one 14-3.
15:15We will be back with more from
15:16Arizona in a moment.
15:17Time now for tonight's Don't Settle
15:22Moment, presented by State Farm,
15:23and for that, we're going back to
15:25just before halftime.
15:26Zach Charbonnet gets stopped
15:27initially.
15:28The left tackle, Charles Frost,
15:29didn't settle.
15:30Charbonnet got over the goal line
15:31for his second touchdown of the
15:34season.
15:34You know who else doesn't settle?
15:36Grammy winner Lil Jon, who's
15:38entertaining the fans at halftime.
15:40Fitz, you love Lil Jon.
15:41Big Lil Jon guy, yeah.
15:43Oh, yeah.
15:43Turned down for what?
15:45Okay!
15:46Zuboni, we talked about JSN being
15:50on the verge of stardom.
15:51He has zero targets in the first
15:54half.
15:54Sam Darnold completed eight
15:55receptions to seven different guys.
15:57He's not included.
15:58How do you get him going?
15:59Well, you want to get him going
16:00because obviously he's one of the
16:01best receivers in the league, but
16:02also, you can go the opposite
16:03way.
16:04We were talking about this, Whit,
16:05where this could be somewhat of
16:06a positive.
16:07He's your best football player, no
16:08doubt about that, but they're
16:10still up 14-3.
16:11They're still moving the ball
16:12efficiently, and once they do
16:14start to get them involved, to go
16:16with everything else, it's going to
16:17be a beautiful thing for this
16:18Seattle Seahawks offense.
16:19Fitz, Arizona gets back into this
16:21how.
16:22Kyler Murray's got to start making
16:23some plays, whether it's with his
16:24legs, I'd love to see him not
16:26hook slide after three yards.
16:27He's the most athletic guy on the
16:29field.
16:29He's got to be the most inspiring.
16:31He's got to turn up the dial in the
16:32second half.
16:33Yeah, and Arizona defensively, I
16:34mean, the only success they've had
16:36is when they've been able to get a
16:36little pressure on Sam, so they've
16:38got to be able to turn that up.
16:39And then offensively, we've got to
16:40do something other than Trey
16:41McBride because eventually, to have
16:43a successful season, this offense
16:45has got to grow into something more
16:46than just him.
16:47But then on the other side, the
16:48defense is playing incredible
16:50football.
16:50I thought they could have had
16:51another turnover right before the
16:52half.
16:53They're playing fast, they're playing
16:54physical, and this defensive line
16:55has a great feel for Kyler Murray.
16:57I heard early in the second half,
16:59they were starting to run hurry up
17:00and tempo, and the D-line said,
17:02Kyler came up and said, Wally,
17:04Wally.
17:04They said, oh, that's a weak side
17:05run.
17:06We know exactly where it's coming.
17:07Fitz, tell me more.
17:08Weak side run to the left.
17:09There's an L in Wally, Sherm.
17:11You know what?
17:12Arizona can't abandon the run
17:14game.
17:14I think that's going to be
17:15important early here.
17:16Trey Benson only had four carries.
17:18Keep him involved in the game.
17:19Let's see if we can get it going.
17:20Yeah, but we talked about
17:21Marvin Harrison, Jr.
17:22and the connection with Kyler
17:23Murray.
17:24If I'm them, come out that first
17:27drive, get those two going.
17:28They've got to get on the same
17:29page because it doesn't work.
17:30If those two can't get going,
17:31this team is not going to happen.
17:32Sherm, if you're Calais Campbell,
17:33how do you talk to Marvin
17:35Harrison, Jr.?
17:35You say, hey, young fella,
17:37keep your head up and just keep
17:38pushing.
17:39You're going to get better.
17:40It happens to the best of us.
17:41Let's go.
17:42Another former Walter Payton
17:43man of the year.
17:44If someone can get him going,
17:45it's the 39-year-old.
17:47Next week, we are staying in
17:48the NFC West as Christian
17:50McCaffrey and the San Francisco
17:5149ers face Matthew Stafford
17:53and the Los Angeles Rams.
17:55Coverage starts with DNF
17:57tonight at 7 p.m.
17:58Eastern, only on Prime.
18:00Thanks for watching the State
18:01Farm Halftime Show.
18:03Seattle gives the ball to start
18:04the second half.
18:05We'll see it post-game.
18:06Enjoy the second half.
18:07There we go.
18:23The Cardinals take the field
18:24against the Seattle Seahawks
18:26on Thursday night's football.
18:28Oh, it's picked at the 32-yard line.
18:33And the ball is loose from the 16.
18:36The protection man opened for
18:38touchdown.
18:39Well, one of the big stories in the
18:53first half here at State Farm Stadium
18:55in Glendale, Arizona.
18:57for the score of 14-3 is that Seattle defense.
19:02Three points allowed, two picks, two sacks,
19:05and given up just 107 yards on 34 plays.
19:11Plays of 10 or more yards.
19:13Hawks with 10.
19:14Cardinals with only three.
19:16There's your quarterback comparison.
19:18And that's what John DeGannon talked to
19:21to Kaylee about walking off the field.
19:23The explosive.
19:24They really try to pride themselves
19:26on taking explosives away.
19:27And been tough in that first half
19:29against Darnold, that group of receivers
19:31and backs.
19:33So Seattle will get the ball
19:36to start the second half here.
19:38Chad Rylan who sends it down
19:39towards George Helani.
19:40and Derrick A. Young.
19:51And off we go third quarter.
19:58Derrick Young brings that out
20:01to the 33 moments ago.
20:03Kaling on the field with Mike McDonnell.
20:07Mike, what has your defense done best
20:09to keep the Cardinals offense out of rhythm?
20:12We're playing really hard.
20:13We're communicating really well.
20:14We're on one accord.
20:16Some things we want to attack.
20:17Let's go.
20:17Let's get the ball now
20:18when it hits our hands.
20:19Yeah, we just saw your offense
20:20in the end zone.
20:21Now you get the ball back.
20:22How do you keep that momentum going?
20:24Well, this is a great opportunity
20:25to double them up at the end of the half.
20:27It's a big series for us.
20:28It's a great opportunity
20:29to step on the gas.
20:30Thanks, Mike.
20:31All right, thank you.
20:32See if they can step on the gas here.
20:33Yeah, Kenneth Walker is the running back.
20:36He's back in.
20:37Charbonnet did all of the heavy lifting
20:39on the last touchdown drive.
20:40The fake look out from behind.
20:42Ball is out.
20:44But the Hawks are right there to recover.
20:45It's a Darnold good.
20:47Clipped from behind by Josh Sweat.
20:51Well, we talked about him
20:52maybe on a loaf
20:53where if he finished the play,
20:54maybe he keeps Charbonnet
20:56out of the end zone.
20:58But here,
20:59this is what he's known for,
21:00obviously,
21:01the ability to use those hands,
21:02get around the left tackle, cross,
21:04and then finish on the play
21:06using that right club
21:07to knock the ball away.
21:09Cards had their chance.
21:10That's exactly what they needed,
21:12but a good heads-up play by Barner
21:13to get that ball back.
21:15One of the tight ends.
21:16Eric Saubert
21:16with the recovery.
21:18Second down and 11 now.
21:20Smith and Jigba
21:21will take the toss.
21:22So he hasn't caught a pass,
21:24but a nice run here
21:25close to a first down.
21:28Yeah,
21:28we were talking at halftime.
21:31Let's take a look at our next-gen stats.
21:32We'll take a look at them in a second.
21:34But one of the things we talked about
21:35is we're surprised.
21:36They're up 14-3
21:37and their top receiver,
21:39JSN,
21:40has not had an opportunity
21:41to get his hands on the ball
21:42until that.
21:43That's one way.
21:45Instead of worrying about
21:45trying to force the ball
21:47into the coverage,
21:49it's very complex and complicated.
21:51And they're really determined
21:53to take him away in this game.
21:55Just pitch it to him
21:56and let him make some positive yards.
22:00Third down one.
22:01Charbonnet is the back.
22:05Rolling against the grain.
22:07Goes across his body
22:08and that's a first down.
22:10A.J. Barner scored a touchdown
22:11in the first half.
22:12Makes that catch.
22:13And now we'll take a look
22:14at our next-gen stats
22:14powered by AWS.
22:16We just talked about
22:17how they have really done
22:18a good job of squeezing him
22:20with leverage.
22:21He is the focal point
22:22on this Arizona defense.
22:24Inside and outside.
22:25Whether they're bracketing,
22:26anything they can do
22:27to take him away.
22:28In this case,
22:28you take him away.
22:29Watch the defense.
22:30watch 27 White
22:31kind of slide outside with him.
22:33Then the tight end releases.
22:34So the defense is so cognizant
22:37of what he's doing
22:38it opens up other options.
22:40A first down.
22:42Chase.
22:44And finally Walker
22:45out of bounds
22:45right into the Arizona bench.
22:48Second and 18-2.
22:49I bet nobody on this team
22:51feels more upset
22:52than Walker.
22:54Something you just don't see
22:55him losing his cool.
22:56I've watched him
22:57at Michigan State.
22:58Before that,
22:59he was a weak force.
23:00I never in my life
23:00had watched him play
23:01where a guy grabbed his foot
23:03in the first half
23:04if you missed it.
23:05They were in full field goal range.
23:06He was going to be
23:06about a third and two.
23:08And he lost his cool
23:09and threw the ball at him.
23:10It cost him 15 yards.
23:11Now it's a third and 18.
23:12They're out of field goal range
23:13and I'm sure he wants
23:15to make up for that
23:16at some point tonight.
23:18Walker, nine carries
23:19for 48 yards
23:21to this point.
23:22Second down and eight.
23:25To the outside.
23:26And a couple yards shy
23:27of the first down.
23:29Barnard.
23:30He makes the catch here.
23:32It'll be third down
23:32and two for the Seahawks.
23:34Let's just not take for granted
23:35Sam Darnold
23:37and where this guy was
23:38in his career
23:39in New York and Carolina
23:41and for all intents
23:42and purposes
23:43I think a lot of folks
23:44in the league
23:45looked at him
23:45as basically damaged goods.
23:47He's done.
23:48He talked this week
23:50with Al and I
23:50and Kaylee
23:51about how his stop
23:52in San Francisco
23:53we were like
23:53of course Kyle Shanahan
23:54Brock Purdy
23:55the younger quarterback
23:57he points to
23:58as a guy
23:59that's really helped him
24:00turn his career around.
24:02First time I ever heard
24:02something like that
24:03where a younger guy
24:04after Charbonnet
24:05picks up the first half
24:06we're always talking
24:07to the quarterbacks
24:08hey who's the most influential
24:10and it's always some
24:11older coach
24:12Josh McCown.
24:13Well yeah you go back
24:14you go back to Mike Shanahan
24:15you go back to a lot of people
24:17and then all of a sudden
24:18Brock Purdy
24:19and he said
24:20he helped me learn
24:21what it takes
24:21in paying attention
24:22to detail
24:23in preparation
24:24and then he goes
24:26to KO
24:27in Minnesota
24:28and we know
24:29what happened
24:29we talked to Earl
24:30about that
24:30and I think
24:31he's just resurrected
24:32he's confident
24:33and now Clint Kubiak
24:34has him playing
24:35in rhythm
24:35with these play-action passes
24:36yep right there play-action
24:38in trouble
24:39down he goes
24:40at the 40 yard line
24:41but the one thing about
24:42Darnold
24:43it's such a parallel here
24:45with him and with Baker Mayfield
24:48that's Darius Robinson
24:49who celebrates at the moment
24:51Darnold now is a timeout here
24:53because he's an injured
24:54Cardinal down on one knee here
24:57so that's the reason for the break
24:59he won't go back
25:02to that QB class
25:03in 2018
25:04Baker Mayfield
25:06is number one
25:07Cleveland
25:07he's going to be
25:08the guy
25:10who goes on for years
25:12he's the next
25:12Donald Graham
25:13or whatever
25:13Darnold
25:15third
25:15Josh Allen
25:16had that work out
25:17Josh Rosen
25:19gets picked by Arizona
25:20lasts only a year here
25:21and then the last pick
25:23in that first round
25:24Lamar Jackson
25:26so it's fascinating
25:27when you look at this
25:28Mayfield and Darnold
25:30are the guys
25:30both damaged goods
25:32neither makes it
25:33I mean
25:33Darnold's seeing ghosts
25:35right
25:35he'll never live that
25:37that way
25:37you know
25:37in New York
25:38you got Baker of course
25:40and the two of them
25:42wind up in Carolina
25:43together
25:44together
25:45and then of course
25:46with Mayfield
25:47he goes to Los Angeles
25:48all you need is 48 hours
25:50with Sean McVay
25:51and that turns
25:52there you go
25:53that turns your career
25:54around on a Thursday night
25:55and meanwhile
25:56with Sam
25:57he goes to Minnesota
25:58he's gonna be
25:59he's gonna
26:00he and McCarthy
26:01will battle for
26:02the top spot
26:03but he's a placeholder
26:04and I think you can say
26:06Baker Mayfield
26:07in the first three weeks
26:08of the season
26:08their games have come down
26:10to the last couple minutes
26:12and it's been Baker Mayfield
26:13needing to make a play
26:15and he's making these plays
26:16so
26:17yeah
26:17he and Darnold
26:18great examples
26:19of going through
26:20some really tough times
26:21and coming out
26:22on the other end
26:23better for it
26:24Dennis Walker
26:25yeah we were going through
26:26all the storylines
26:27we wanted to talk about
26:28tonight
26:28in our meetings
26:30and going
26:30all roads lead
26:31to Baker Mayfield
26:32he's involved in everything
26:33I mean Kyler Murray
26:34played with him
26:35at Oklahoma
26:36yeah
26:36and somehow
26:37some way
26:38it seems to come back
26:39to him
26:39but
26:39what a job
26:41and you see at the bottom
26:42there
26:42led the game
26:43winning drive
26:43in each of these
26:44first three games
26:45so
26:45and then he's got
26:46a little bit of a touch
26:47after the game
26:48like he just when he gets
26:50in that zone
26:50he is
26:51so much fun to watch
26:53undefeated are the Bucs at
26:56this point
26:56Darnold meanwhile third and
26:58eleven here
26:58early third quarter
27:02Seahawks up 14 to three
27:04play clock at three
27:05in the pocket
27:08protected well
27:09caught
27:10and
27:11scrambling
27:12in the 25 yard line
27:13goes Charbonnet
27:14so that'll be fourth and
27:17well
27:19fourth and one
27:20maybe
27:20so do they
27:22lead the offense out
27:23every coach these days
27:24is leading the offense out
27:25actually the kicker's
27:27coming out
27:27yeah
27:29I guess they're looking
27:30at the big picture
27:31could be
27:31maybe the ten point swing
27:33you know
27:34the touchdown before the half
27:35he just said to Kaylee
27:36how important this series is
27:38and instead of risking it
27:39get the three points
27:41and look at a ten point swing
27:43it's a 44 yard attempt
27:45for one of the best
27:46in the league Jason Myers
27:48and Myers kick is good
27:55with 8 56 left in the third
27:59Seahawks trying to get to
28:01three and one on top 17 three
28:03in Glendale
28:04Phoenix
28:09almost the
28:12Diamondbacks trying to get into the playoffs
28:15they sure are
28:15chasing those red legs
28:17and Mets
28:17Suns
28:18formerly the home of the Coyotes
28:21now the Utah Mammoth
28:22Arizona State plays CCU tomorrow
28:25are you all over there you go
28:26here comes Dorch
28:30to the 35 yard line
28:35oh
28:36if you're a Cardinals fan
28:37you've got to be asking yourself
28:39when is Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison
28:41going to get on the same page
28:43we saw a big drop last week
28:45one of the things I'm recognizing
28:47is just
28:47not only are they not in sync
28:49I think it's Marvin Harrison's not playing with the confidence that you'd expect him to play with here
28:55it cost him an interception
28:56in fact two interceptions tonight
28:58he's thrown six when targeting Harrison over the last two years
29:01that's a fourth most
29:02when a quarterback targets one receiver
29:05so he's trying to get him the ball
29:07and I think it's got to be frustrating for the quarterback
29:10and especially frustrating for young receiver
29:13that has so much potential
29:15he comes in here
29:18they expect him to be the next Larry Fitzgerald
29:20yeah
29:21fourth pick overall
29:22you better be
29:23right
29:23Benson
29:24congratulations to Larry
29:26he was named
29:27a guy that will be considered
29:30of course he's out five years
29:31so if you want to bet
29:33that he'll get in
29:35the first on the first ballot
29:36he bet a thousand dollars to win one dollar
29:39I mean he's in
29:40he's in
29:40that's a lot
29:41breeze as well obviously
29:45second down and eight
29:47deep downfield
29:52he grabbed on his arm
29:54right
29:54Michael Wilson trying to find it
29:56as he was going downfield
29:58gets interfered with
30:00and a big break here
30:01coming up
30:01for the Cardinals
30:03I just love to see
30:04they're trying to stretch the defense
30:06there have not been a lot of shots downfield
30:08haven't had any success
30:09at least here they get the interference
30:12pass interference
30:13defense number 27
30:15ball is placed in the spot of the foul
30:17automatic first down
30:18you know you brought up
30:20you know you brought up a great point with Harrison before
30:21as did
30:22Gannon here's the
30:23yeah Chris grabs
30:24grabs the arm right there
30:26and obviously impacts Wilson
30:28from trying to get to his spot on that fade
30:30but with Harrison
30:32you
30:32you talked
30:33and Gannon even mentioned
30:34this
30:34sometimes you think too much
30:36it's paralysis by analysis
30:38well yeah
30:38and I think anything in life
30:40is about confidence
30:40and feeling good about yourself
30:42he had an abundance of that
30:43in college at Ohio State
30:44just knew he's the best player on the field
30:45and right now he's still searching to find that in the NFL
30:48little things like the way he comes off the ball
30:52at the line of scrimmage
30:53the way he runs a route
30:55it just looks like a guy
30:57I mean in times
30:58when I was watching film this week
30:59watching him coming into this game
31:00I thought
31:01is he hurt
31:02like he just doesn't look like a guy that's playing
31:05they challenged him this year
31:07they wanted to play at a thousand miles an hour
31:09play physical with that size
31:12second and eight
31:14Murray
31:15flag is in here
31:18they got a hold there on the left tackle
31:20Paris Johnson
31:21holding
31:27offense number 70
31:2910-yard penalty
31:30second down
31:31Johnson there
31:34top pick out of Ohio State
31:36third year in the league
31:38yeah
31:40you know he's coming off
31:42an injury missed last week
31:43and it's all about his feet
31:45when his feet are in position
31:47that he's able to
31:48be able to like any tackle
31:50that gets out there
31:51isolated against a really good edge
31:53pass rusher
31:54and that left arm gets up around the neck
31:56right in front of the referee
31:57moves him back to a second and 17
32:03back at their own 44-yard line
32:05here
32:08Murray
32:09drops it underneath
32:11bench in
32:12tackle by the ankle
32:15great promise with the tackle
32:18Kaley
32:18Seattle's defensive line is not getting Demarcus Lawrence back tonight
32:23he came out of the locker room at the half in sweats
32:25he gave me a nod said I'm okay
32:28it's the quad
32:29it comes with the territory
32:30as it does in year 12 guys
32:32well the one good thing for him
32:34you get the mini bias so he doesn't have another game for 10 days
32:38and the Wusu getting healthier allows him to be able to get seven into the game for him
32:43which is great to see him healthy and helps him get some depth there
32:47their next game against Tampa Bay
32:51undefeated at the moment
32:5330-14
32:54Murray getting chased and Murray just has to fling that one
32:58halfway to Mesa so
33:00fourth down
33:01Booz will rain down
33:03again folks this is a combination
33:15of an offense that's reeling
33:18they don't have their best back and their leader
33:21you're not seeing a young receiver making plays not in sync
33:24you got a frustrated quarterback
33:26but make no mistake it's a combination of an offense fine trying to find itself
33:31and a really really really good Seattle defense
33:35Blake Gillikin this will be his fourth punt
33:40first three have averaged 54 yards
33:44fair catch call for here
33:47at the 13 yard line by Torrey Wharton
33:50six and a half remaining in the third
33:53Seahawks up
33:54514
33:56Well few in the NFL have moved around as much as Clint Kubiak and Sam Darnold in recent years
34:05Seattle is Kubiak's fifth stop in five seasons
34:07his third is offensive coordinator in that span
34:10and Darnold
34:11he's just the third quarterback to start a game for five different teams before turning 30
34:16the pair have overlap before 2023 in San Francisco
34:19and Cooper Cup told me there is an art to melding different experiences
34:24and he feels Darnold and Kubiak have done an unbelievable job at it guys
34:28well no question about that through the first three games and
34:31this is a fascinating story behind this too
34:34because Kubiak gets the job before they get Darnold
34:37and McDonald brings him in to coach Geno Smith
34:41right
34:42right and Geno Smith opts to go to to Las Vegas
34:45right to be back reunited with Pete Carroll and they went out and said let's go get Sam Darnold
34:49right
34:51well
34:52it's you know they made Smith an offer he didn't like it
34:55so off he went to the
34:57Nevada desert is
34:59Smith and Jigwood gets tackled behind the line
35:01scrimmage
35:02second down
35:03but that
35:04it's kind of crazy that you bring you bring a coordinator in to work with one guy
35:08and then he winds up working with another guy and there's John Schneider who's the
35:12long-time general manager of the Seattle Seahawks
35:15it is you're right it is funny but I love how quickly they had to respond to Geno going another direction and they they went out and said who's out there that fits what we want to do and after the year Sam Darnold had in Minnesota they said that's our guy and he fits our system
35:30let's go pay him and let's move on
35:34so far so good second and eleven
35:37to the outside
35:39reaching up his Cooper cup and nowhere to go he's covered there by
35:42Zabin Collins third and ten it is pretty remarkable to think about five teams that he starts with and
35:51the guy is 28 years old
35:54think about what he's been through and he's only 28 years old in his eighth year in the league I mean think about what's ahead of him
36:02one of the great in the great tradition of USC quarterbacks
36:10he's 28
36:15he's talking about the parallel with Baker Mayfield Baker is 32 years older Donald fires
36:22and that's incomplete
36:24and then their professional Arizona defense makes its best stand of the night Max Milton when the coverage is worth out
36:31but we saw two corners on this series make big plays
36:35we saw key trail make a play against control Clark against the run now this time you see 16 Melton with a quick reaction
36:42anticipation where the sticks are and he's able to work back to Cooper cup thinking that that ball may come out and use that right arm
36:49to be able to swat that away with his length great play great series by the Cardinals defense to get the ball back for sure here's Dixon's
36:56third punt
36:58angles it to the far sideline and bounces out of bounds somewhere around the 35 or so
37:09it's Thursday night in the Arizona desert Seattle leading 17 to three
37:17all right time now for driven for more presented by Hyundai and we're going to talk about this Seattle defense we talked
37:23really at the outset of the broadcast how dominant this front can be and we've seen that on display
37:29good job of playing zone in the back end allows him to keep eyes on football
37:33here they actually bring Devin Witherspoon on a on a pressure on that last series to get the Cardinals off the field but
37:39Mike McDonald in his second year as a head coach second year calling this defense
37:43much more familiar with what his guys can do the guys are more familiar with the scheme
37:47and this defense is playing as fast and it's connected as any defense in the NFL
37:53an offense that's gained only 115 yards to this point
37:57and McBride makes that catch
37:59so this will be coming up the
38:0239th play of the night
38:05the 40th 40th play of the night for Arizona coming up their longest needs 17 yards
38:09and if you look at this seven of his 16 completions have been behind the line of scrimmage only thrown
38:16it twice over 20 yards we knew that coming in they talked about this being a space game
38:21we've got to be able to find ways to get our guys in space and then make people miss
38:26with some yards after the catch it's just been tough sledding against this defense
38:30on second and six
38:36slings it to the outside that's a first down
38:39trey benson coming out of the backfield
38:42two of the sticks with four minutes to go in the third
38:46defensively mike mcdonald especially now working with this lead but he's doing he's been doing it all game
38:52sitting back with with his safeties and
38:55allowing the front four to create the pressure and
38:57you have five guys underneath just waiting to make take tackles
39:02to the sideline and that's going to be harrison
39:06who holds it in right kind of a mock cheer coming out from the crowd reeked one
39:12on the coverage and how about the ball by murray it's a back shoulder fade he's adjusting back to
39:17the ball woolen never really sees that he's in pretty good position he just doesn't get his head
39:23turned around until it's too late and good awareness into footwork there
39:27by harrison to get those feet down for a nice positive game harrison caught a pass on arizona's
39:33first offensive play tonight his second grab right here
39:38to the 32
39:41flea flicker look out that didn't fool anybody
39:45two hawks came in including josh joe
39:49to take him down trickery of the seat will get you nowhere sometimes could not have come in at any
39:55worst time they brought the all-out blitz on the edge witherspoon here joe here on the other side
40:01and watch joe up at the top doesn't give up on it witherspoon's there
40:05as well
40:06good job of keeping their eyes on the football knew exactly where they needed to go to take murray down
40:11not food at all but a little razzle dazzle there on on first and ten seven yard loss second down 17
40:23and again just a four-man rush but a big rush murray signals downfield
40:29and just has to take it himself just about back to the line of scrimmage third down and long
40:34well one of the things with murray especially against a front that can get in and penetrate this
40:39quickly is when he gets out he needs help and let's see how the receivers do here it's right now you
40:46got to respond let's see if anybody works with him not really until marvin harrison turned and went
40:52on field but they had him they had two defenders on him there's just nowhere for murray to go with the
40:57football tonight it's a combination of good coverage downfield they're sticky but also the
41:02receivers got to do a better job of trying to work to find some space got to get to the 22 yard line
41:08it just goes on and on this time it's dorch starting to look upfield fourth and 17. by the way on third
41:16and 17 and just flipping it out there because the respect you have for the pressure trying to get that
41:22that tunnel screen set up but even if he catches that that's about a two or three yard game this defense
41:29flies too well as a unit to think that you're going to be able to pick up enough yards to even try to get
41:34field goal range but they're still going to bring him out 57 yard attempt here chad ryland
41:42missed a 57 yarder in the loss to san francisco last week this time from 57 the kick is good
41:52so at least he set up for three in this 11-point game well we knew now coming in trey mcbride is
42:04is the go-to man is tied in but the question i think we all had was between marvin harrison and the other
42:11who's going to help him out especially when it comes to scrambling and just trying to make plays
42:16he's going to be under a lot of duress he's going to be looking to try to keep some plays alive
42:20what i see is a lot of guys standing around nobody's really trying to play with some urgency
42:26out at that wide receiver position it's almost like i'm supposed to run to this point i'm running my
42:31route they turn around and murray's running for his life and by the time they try to react he's
42:36either out of bounds or or down from the pressure yeah they came into this game only a third of the
42:42pass completions for murray went to wide outs and tonight he's completed 18 almost all of them short
42:49passes and only seven have gone to wide outs 11 to others the tight ends and running backs
43:0117 six
43:05so rylan after that 57 yarders sends this one to the one
43:10salani some room back to the 33 yard line he goes for the minute and a half to the end of the third
43:23well one thing you don't have to worry about is the cardinals defense coming out and playing with some
43:27energy and jonathan gannon has these guys flying around it's one of the more complicated schemes that
43:33you'll see i mean you sit there and watch film you're rewinding it second time third time fourth time
43:39there's nick ralas the defensive coordinator who calls the defense they do a great job they get a lot
43:44of hybrid players meaning guys that can do a lot of different things which creates confusion because
43:49you have a hard time id-ing buda baker and what his job might be post snap so it puts a lot on the quarterback
43:57from pre to post snap but these guys play with fire despite being down in this game down eleven
44:05walker well that's pretty much gannon got the job because he was next very on his defensive coordinator
44:11in philadelphia for two years and then he gets the job he knows he's got the job there was a little
44:16bit of tampering involved too when they taught him and they shouldn't have before the super bowl
44:21but the interesting thing was he comes in it should be the most exciting day of at least your
44:26professional life and he comes in after giving up 38 points to kansas city in the super bowl in this
44:31stadium tough one yeah you said he brought up another one was a kyle shannon yeah right after three our guy
44:37right after the 23 loss yeah then he takes the job that's dead right yeah yeah already preordained
44:44second and six and that is incomplete intended for smith and jig buttons and a silent night
44:51third and six he's run 17 routes and that's the first time that they've targeted cardinals part of this
44:57defense they they can do so many different things the first thing that they think about is this defensive
45:03staff is what did they do well what do we want to try to take away is it the scheme is it a player
45:10tonight it's been let's take away jsn and let's make them beat us in other areas now to the credit
45:16the seahawks they put 17 points up but it's been a quiet night for number 11.
45:27going to the outside and the minute you say it's a quiet night
45:31it gets a little noisy first out they brought the heat there they really dialed it up brought one more
45:37more than this the offensive line in the back can handle they got seven so sam donald knows
