00:00On Saturday morning an 8.4 metre catamaran left the Clarence River at Yamba and was meant to
00:07travel north with the destination of the Gold Coast. Unfortunately it never made that destination
00:13and part of the reason it didn't make that destination it was a very underpowered,
00:18it was poorly maintained and should not have proceeded to sea. We did eventually find them
00:23alive and well late last night after using some triangulation off a Telstra tower which gave us
00:29position to send marine rescue to and we found that vessel adrift, no power, no navigation lights,
00:36no safety equipment. However two men were alive and well. Marine rescue towed that vessel in in the
00:43early hours of the morning and that came and returned to Yamba at first light this morning
00:48about 7 a.m. These two men are lucky to be alive. These two men probably should have perished at sea
00:54if it wasn't for the quick actions of police, AMSA and marine rescue in saving their lives.
