Skipper with broken wrist rescued from boat in rough seas

00:00A 41-year-old man was safely rescued from his catamaran boat

00:04after it started taking on water in rough seas.

00:10The skipper and sole occupant was travelling south from New South Wales

00:14and encountered rough seas when he attempted to enter Lake's entrance

00:17just after 11pm on October 12.

00:20While trying to gain control of his 6.6-metre catamaran,

00:24he sustained a broken wrist as it began taking on water.

00:30He contacted emergency services and water police officers winched him to safety.

00:36He was taken to the hospital with mild hypothermia and treatment for his wrist.

00:41Water police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
