00:00This is Project Runway.
00:09Wow, wow, wow.
00:11Okay, guys, let's vote.
00:13I feel bad for them.
00:15I'd rather be here than making that decision.
00:17I'm so shocked that we need to vote out the designer for this challenge.
00:23This is the Project Runway first.
00:25It's really hard because it feels like you're crushing someone's dreams
00:30and there's blood in your hands.
00:33But it's Project Runway.
00:35One day you're in and the next day you're out.
00:38All right, designers, can you guys gather in your votes and bring them over to me?
00:47No, man.
00:51This is everybody.
00:51I'm a little nervous that these designers are going to vote me off
00:56just to separate my brother and I.
00:58We're powerful together, and they will send their biggest threat home.
01:01Joseph, Joan, Antonio.
01:04Two of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
01:09The first vote is for Joseph McCray.
01:15The second vote is for Miss Joan.
01:19I don't want to go home on a design that didn't speak to who I was as a designer.
01:26I hope the other designers keep me in the competition.
01:30The third vote is for Joseph McCray.
01:35Child, do not play.
01:38So that's two votes for Joseph, another one, and you'll be out, okay?
01:41Oh, my God.
01:44I guess this is when the true competition shows, because do they feel like my look is the worst,
01:49or is it because I could be the most threat in this competition?
01:55The fourth vote is for Antonio.
02:01My brother might be going home right now, and I'm freaking out.
02:05The next vote is for Joseph McCray.
02:13Got it.
02:14What is going on?
02:16No.
02:16I'm so sorry, Joseph.
02:20So that means you're out.
02:22I don't know if the vote was strategic, but if it was a game that they wanted to play,
02:28I guess the game has been played, so.
02:31It was such a pleasure working with you.
02:33I think you're incredibly talented.
02:35I know who you are.
02:36Yeah.
02:36I can't wait to see more of your clothes.
02:38You will.
02:39I know.
02:40I'm really sad to have my best friend in the competition leave,
02:44and I wish that I had stood up a little bit more for Joseph.
02:47I don't know that I could have swayed four people.
02:50Bye, everyone.
02:53No problem.
02:54I love you, too.
02:56As much as I didn't want to go home, listen, don't worry about me,
03:00because, baby, I'm about to be famous.
03:04Still iconic, bitch.
03:05Don't forget, and that's a wrap.
03:07Later, loves.
03:09Bye.
03:11Say goodbye to law.
03:13Bye, love.
03:14Thank you, guys.
03:15Thanks for saving me.
03:17How are you guys feeling?
03:19That was definitely a curveball,
03:21and I think we're just, like, all full of emotions.
03:25Mylon, you're very shaken up.
03:26I'm angry.
03:29Why?
03:30You have to make tough decisions in this business.
03:32No, I know.
03:33Not like that, though.
03:34No?
03:34I don't think it has to be that personal.
03:37It's hard.
03:37Trust me.
03:38I've been there.
03:39I get it.
03:40But it's a competition, and only one of you wins.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Everyone's going home at some point.
03:46It's designed to survive.
03:48And we're going to go into your next challenge now.
03:55This competition is challenge, runway, one-day challenge, sewing, runway, club, challenge, no time, no sleep.
04:07Gaga would not be proud.
04:10Fashion takes inspiration from all kinds of things, art, music, even the unconventional.
04:17So, for your next challenge, you'll be creating a runway-worthy version of your unconventional materials look, completely made out of fabric.
04:31Runway version.
04:33I know not to use denim.
04:34Wow.
04:38If I had the energy to scream, I'd probably be screaming quite a bit.
04:42I didn't love the look that I made.
04:44And it can't just be a story.
04:46Visual, meaningful, they have to connect.
04:48Because both looks are going to walk down the runway together.
04:52Wow.
04:53Oh, my God.
04:55Damn.
04:57Wow.
04:58Head home tonight, do some sketching, get some rest, and then I will meet you at Mood in the morning.
05:03Thank you, Chris.
05:04Good night.
05:04Thank you so much.
05:06Bye.
05:06Bye.
05:08For the next challenge, I'm really going to step my up because I want to prove to the judges that I am an amazing designer and stylist.
05:15I think the only complaint in my life is a roach.
05:18So we've got to fix that.
05:28Friction pens are amazing.
05:30Who would have thought that you could erase a pen?
05:33Guys, that was rough.
05:35Miss Joan, how do you feel?
05:36You're back for another week.
05:38Yeah.
05:38Just need to process everything.
05:40Yeah.
05:40Okay.
05:40Yeah.
05:40I'm going to put Joan on the runway.
05:42Oh, my God.
05:44This is a great opportunity to show your other side.
05:46I said, Taylor.
05:47I've been tailoring for over 20 years.
05:50This is what I do.
05:51I can tailor a suit.
05:53So this is my opportunity to bring it.
05:56Look, that's sick.
05:57I don't even sketch.
05:59Jesus, usually I would tell him what to sketch for me.
06:01I'm jealous of you guys for having brothers because if I have my brother here.
06:05I think it's an advantage.
06:06No, it's a huge advantage.
06:08It's a huge advantage.
06:09Because they're going to, no matter what, help one another.
06:12The last challenge was the first individual challenge.
06:15But the twins are still working together.
06:19If that is what it takes to win for y'all, awesome.
06:22But I'm able to eat it up without having family in the room.
06:26Although I have a question.
06:27Do you think both of you can do one challenge where you're completely separate?
06:33Because you're used to be, like, working each other.
06:35So maybe for this challenge, like, just challenge yourself.
06:38Let's not help each other and let's see what's going to happen.
06:41I think that BJ's smart.
06:43She knows how to play the game.
06:44What's going to be the outcome?
06:48Are you up for the challenge?
06:50As an individual designer, I know I can do it.
06:53I know I'm talented.
06:54I know I'm good.
06:55Let's shut this bitch up.
06:56Let's prove to them this challenge.
06:59I'm excited if they can actually do it.
07:02We will see.
07:03Done.
07:04So that's completely solo challenge.
07:07BJ, over my dead body that you think you're going to separate Antonio and I.
07:12So now it's on.
07:14All right.
07:24Remember this challenge.
07:25Runway-worthy version to kind of complement your unconventional look.
07:3030 minutes.
07:31$350.
07:32Okay, go.
07:33Right now.
07:33Ah!
07:38Ah!
07:40Just take a half yard off and then I can get that.
07:43Keep looking.
07:43You just started.
07:44Put that backpack down and dig through these roles.
07:46All right.
07:47Oh, we need pins, bitch.
07:49The two boxes.
07:50Of course.
07:51The twins are shopping together.
07:53I am so shocked at the happy to wear.
07:58Going gray again.
07:59Mm-hmm.
08:00Boring.
08:01I'm capable of a lot more than when I put down the runway in the last challenge.
08:05However, to turn something that I hated into something that I like is going to take some real work.
08:13You don't want anything iridescent-y?
08:15I think that that's pretty iridescent and I'm going to do stuff to it.
08:19My confidant, my best friend here, Joseph McRae, has left.
08:23So I'm definitely feeling that loss.
08:25And I need a solid amount of time to sit with what happened, but I don't have time to do that.
08:32Oh, this looks like rotten in here.
08:38Oh, it's Miss Jones' dress.
08:40I don't want to see that.
08:43Last challenge, I was so far in the bottom that they had to dig me out the dirt.
08:48It looks like dead vegetation.
08:51Just throw her in a compost.
08:53I have to take inspiration from it.
08:56I'm going to try and redeem myself.
08:58So I'm going to have to show Laura who I am as a designer.
09:01Leave it all on the runway.
09:03I really don't want to look at this all day.
09:06Jumped a bunch of the corner.
09:08No one puts baby in a corner.
09:11However, I need her gone.
09:14One, two, three, four.
09:16Hello.
09:17Hello.
09:17Hey.
09:18Oh, is that the crotch?
09:23It's a banana hammock.
09:24Oh.
09:26Wow.
09:27I want to create a cocoon, outer shell gown that reveals into like a J-Lo butterfly sexy moment.
09:35Oh my God, but you have so much to make.
09:38Just two pieces.
09:39Okay.
09:39You can't have her whole butt out though like that.
09:42I want about this much crap.
09:46How are they going to connect visually?
09:48I think because these are triangular, they're going to be covering the whole thing.
09:52Oh, yeah.
09:53Oh, yeah.
09:53Wait.
09:53Am I hurting your ears?
09:55Yes.
09:56All right, I'll stop.
09:57You can wait.
09:57I didn't love the look I didn't love the look that I made last week.
10:00That's not me.
10:01So I'm making these hard, kind of sharp edges into something more soft.
10:07She's going to be feathery, she's going to be bird-like, she's going to be awesome.
10:11What's happening over here?
10:13I want to keep that same silhouette where it's see-through and sexy.
10:15Mm-hmm.
10:16So I want to do a cigarette pant with a corset.
10:19Your corset top needs to be incredible.
10:21It's going to fit well.
10:22Make sure.
10:23I'm trying it right now.
10:24I'm pretty fast.
10:24Okay.
10:25Last challenge, I almost got voted off, but I'm here for another week and I'm going to
10:29set myself apart from the other designers and my brother.
10:32I want to stand out.
10:33I already do because I'm gorgeous.
10:37Perfection.
10:38Okay, I can boot-fader this out.
10:40The look was very rock and cool.
10:42Yeah, so I want it.
10:43But you're doing like an evening gown, so it's like how do you make that feel like edgy?
10:47I wanted to utilize the red instead of doing a front lapel to incorporate a back lapel.
10:53I mean, you have to have the red.
10:54Yeah, of course.
10:54In some way to visually connect.
10:57So it's a gown, right?
10:59This is very street wear, very I'm going to a bashment party.
11:02Uh-huh.
11:03You know?
11:03Yeah.
11:04And this is very, I'm stepping on the runway.
11:06I've never made a dress specifically like this before, but I want to showcase my skills
11:12as far as gown making goes for a curvier woman.
11:16It's a flag dress.
11:18When I think of soccer, I think of World Cup.
11:20All these countries, it's exciting.
11:23My idea is to make this black and white soccer ball bomber jacket with this big flag dress
11:29that celebrates the energy of a soccer stadium.
11:32Edit the colors like you edited those colors on that look.
11:35Remember, visually connect it.
11:37Wow.
11:38That looks pretty.
11:39For this one, I want the boning to be outside.
11:42Yeah.
11:43I really want to make another structure using the boning.
11:47It's a very meticulous process because boning is something that you need to hand sew, but
11:53I haven't worn yet and I want the judges to see my impeccable craftsmanship in all the
11:59things that I do.
12:00This is my power.
12:01My hands.
12:02Wow.
12:03This is a beautifully cut suit.
12:05Yeah.
12:05Clearly, you can make clothes.
12:07So I get that you want to do this beautiful, amazing suit, but I think the connection will
12:12still be important, you know?
12:13And that's why I'm trying to still keep the connectivity with the corset tree.
12:18I was even thinking of taking the popsicle sticks.
12:21If you do that, I quit right now.
12:25Child!
12:26I just want them to see something here that they didn't see there.
12:32You know, Law really didn't like this dress.
12:34You gotta prove them wrong.
12:35Okay.
12:36Law, have mercy.
12:38Everyone is a little worried about me, you know, but I got this.
12:42I'm a fighter.
12:43I've been through the hardest fight of my life.
12:47Back in 2020, I made it onto the cast of Project Runway for the first time, but I also
12:55found out that I had breast cancer and I needed to start treatment immediately.
13:01My biggest fear is during that time is, am I going to be strong enough to fight and
13:07beat this thing?
13:09But let me tell you, I rang that bell and Mama Joan is four years cancer free.
13:16This is more than just a competition for me.
13:20This is a full circle moment.
13:22To win Project Runway would be such a validation.
13:28I want to show that I can be an inspiration to so many women out there that there is life
13:34after, you know, being diagnosed.
13:45Oh.
13:45I'm, like, a walking zombie right now.
13:59I think the one-day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because, like, there
14:03is no time to rest.
14:04Like, I'm not even, like, to be honest, like, I've been, like, inspired to do this.
14:16Seeing my brother, they're going through all the emotions.
14:19That's not usually his persona.
14:21He's usually stronger than I am.
14:25I'm really concerned because I want him to still be in the competition.
14:28I'm really sorry that Jesus is struggling, but so am I.
14:47Like, I wish I have my best friend here so that I have someone that I can lean on to.
14:51But, you know, I have to deal it on my own.
14:53Someone needs to take that sense of comfort from them so that they can realize that this
14:59is a competition.
15:00I see everybody keeping an eye on us.
15:03All them bitches want to separate us.
15:04He's my twin brother.
15:05So if you with my brother, then you're going to have two enemies.
15:08You get a model.
15:13You get a model.
15:15Baby, let's do it.
15:18I made it a little bit big.
15:20Is it asymmetrical, this top?
15:22Yeah.
15:22Well, it looks kind of like a little bit like a mistake because it's, like, not enough.
15:26I think you still have to figure out this understructure.
15:28For me, I don't, I just don't look like anything.
15:32You all right?
15:33You're just so tired.
15:35You're beat down.
15:36You're done.
15:37It's love.
15:38It's a lot.
15:39Suck it up.
15:40You've already been here before.
15:41Don't worry.
15:42You're fine.
15:43It looks fabulous.
15:44Get it together.
15:44Yeah.
15:45It's going to be cool.
15:47I like it with just one side.
15:48You do too.
15:49It's kind of fab.
15:50I'm really grateful to have Christian.
15:52I think he sees a vision.
15:53I think he likes my work.
15:55And that just really, truly gives me strength.
15:57I'm ready to show the judges exactly what I am made of.
16:04That red stripe on Jesus' gown is looking pretty familiar.
16:08What the f***?
16:11Here we go.
16:12I've been working primarily on the outer part, so I have a lot of finessing to do.
16:18Are you realizing that this doesn't work?
16:20It needs a lot of shajang.
16:21So what are you going to do?
16:23Okay.
16:23Let's try on the other dress.
16:25The dress underneath is not good.
16:27Do you think I should scrap the whole reveal?
16:30One of them.
16:31Yes.
16:31That's what I'm saying.
16:32Then you still have one look.
16:34You got to try something.
16:35I think the shoulders could still be more.
16:38Yeah.
16:38This is the only one that I love, but I think I can elaborate it more.
16:42Hand sewing is a major component to execute that design.
16:47And I don't have a lot of time left, but I've applied to be in the show since 2012.
16:53I've waited for 13 years, and now that I'm here, I'm not going to waste any opportunity
16:58to show the judges what I can do.
17:02You just dislike it.
17:04This looks really messy.
17:06The frayed edges on this looks very amateur.
17:10Okay.
17:11I really don't want this amateur tag to be put on me.
17:15That's a fear of mine because I taught myself for the most part.
17:19So my construction skills are sometimes behind other people.
17:23I got to figure it out.
17:25Maybe the organza looks a little more refined and beautiful and soft, and maybe it's that
17:31all over in diamond shape.
17:33Yeah, that's helpful.
17:34I'm going for soft, feathery, maybe like a snowy egret.
17:38But I'm seeing a dirty, dirty little pigeon.
17:42That's it, designers.
17:43I'm in trouble.
17:45Say goodbye to your models.
17:47Oh, God.
17:53I haven't had to pivot this hard at all this competition.
17:57Two dresses is too much.
17:59So the J-Lo dress is dead.
18:02I'm going to take this cocoon and make an extensive alteration.
18:06Okay, guys, one hour.
18:09But I don't do it big, right?
18:11No, I don't do it big because it's big.
18:13I want my brother here to help me.
18:16They're both really talented.
18:18So am I jealous?
18:19Yes.
18:19And like, I want that.
18:22I have to redo my sleeves because they're ugly.
18:27I have to make the entire skirt.
18:29I'm feeling like this is deeply, deeply undoable.
18:37Good morning, designers.
18:39We have a show to do.
18:41Fashion superheroes, here we come.
18:43They be aggressive.
18:45Be aggressive.
18:47Be aggressive.
18:48Be aggressive.
18:49Yay.
18:51Woo, that's cold.
18:53Nips out.
18:53Hello, Amia.
18:57Hello.
18:58Oh, God.
18:58Sorry, Damien is scary.
18:59Yes.
19:00Emily's called in sick.
19:02So what we are thinking of doing is if we can move Shanae over to this look, and we'll use
19:08the alt model for your episode four looks.
19:11Oh, she's a lot smaller.
19:14Oh, dear God.
19:16Oh, my brain is frying.
19:20I made my dress to fit my size 20 model like a glove.
19:24What are you saying to me right now?
19:26I have three hours to make this size 20 into size 14, 12.
19:32I don't know where to start right now.
19:33Model.
19:34Model.
19:36Side boobie showing.
19:37Yes, we're going to cover for boobies.
19:39I had to find another way to use the black sheer.
19:42So I think having a little bit of sexy side boob moment and a scarf will be a little nod
19:47to the original piece.
19:49How are you guys doing?
19:51Good.
19:51How are you doing?
19:52Lania, how's it going?
19:54My hand stopped shaking.
19:55I can sew.
19:56You can do it.
19:57I don't know.
19:59It's beautiful.
20:00I'm gorgeous.
20:01Thank you for that advice.
20:02What would I do without you in my life?
20:04You're starting to make me have a crush on you.
20:06Everybody has a crush on me.
20:07Hello.
20:10What is that little song?
20:11Marina, I made you a floss.
20:15I am a Latina hooker, a sexy hushie mama.
20:18Not everyone can make a thong.
20:19I know it's just a little string, but you got to get the right measurements because you
20:23don't want to see a camel toe with the floss.
20:26I don't know what that is.
20:28Joe cannot handle the thongs in the room.
20:32To me, a thong is not a fashion moment, okay?
20:36That is underwear.
20:37DJ and these designers are trying to separate Antonio and I.
20:43Well, maybe you two do need to separate it.
20:45You're working on his garment right now.
20:46I'm going to separate you two.
20:48And then we'll see who wins.
20:50Bitch.
20:51Mm-mm.
20:52Ciao.
20:53See?
20:54Even Christian noticed it.
20:56What did he say?
20:58He's inseparated.
20:59He's a little jealous.
21:00Oh, my God.
21:02All right, designers.
21:03We're sending your model to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
21:05The divas.
21:07I need to see what's going on in Glam.
21:09Okay, so this is...
21:10Let me see. Don't get crazy.
21:11I'm not...
21:12How are you feeling about it so far?
21:13You're the best, so I trust you.
21:14Oh, my God, no, Chris.
21:15We do this every day.
21:16You know, every Ulta Beauty has a salon that you can walk into
21:19and have a consultation with a hairstylist or makeup artist
21:21to make your vision come to life.
21:23We do the same day out, so don't even worry.
21:25We're going to make it happen for you.
21:26Perfect. I love Ulta Beauty.
21:27You guys are the best.
21:30Yes.
21:31Oh, my God.
21:33It's done?
21:34No, it's not done yet.
21:35My hands are really, really tired.
21:38I will add more here.
21:40Are you?
21:41Yeah.
21:42I'm scared if I can really finish it on time.
21:44Yeah, you have like an hour.
21:45Mia, can you come here?
21:47God damn it.
21:48Are you finished?
21:49Yeah.
21:50Do you need help someone?
21:51Um, just stock this one.
21:53Okay.
21:54After that, I'm finished.
21:55Thank you so much.
21:57BJ, really?
21:58She gives me and my brother such a hard time
22:00because we help each other.
22:01But when she needs help, it's fine.
22:05Miss Madeline, how's your skirt?
22:06My goal was to get it done by the time the models got here.
22:09I am really far behind.
22:10Not you shuffling around.
22:11No.
22:12There's never enough time.
22:14At this point, like, I know I'm going to hate this look.
22:17What the hell?
22:18But I just need it to be closed.
22:21All right, we're walking in 30 seconds, you guys.
22:29Yay.
22:30Hello, designers.
22:31Welcome to the runway.
22:32As I say in fashion, one day you're in,
22:34and the next day you're out.
22:36For this challenge, you were asked to create a look inspired
22:40by your unconventional materials design,
22:42but made completely out of fabric.
22:44The connection between the two must be visual and meaningful.
22:47All right, let's meet the judges.
22:49CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Laura Roach.
22:57Editor of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
23:00Nina.
23:02And our guest judge for today,
23:04fashion designer and business titan, Jenna Lyons.
23:11All right, let's start the show.
23:19My looks looks very cohesive together.
23:21The bomber jacket looks so sexy, so hot, so modern,
23:26and the dress is cool.
23:28It's just so amazing.
23:30I feel so good.
23:31Super creative.
23:32Like a superhero.
23:34But this, it still looks unconventional to me.
23:43I'm so nervous, but at the same time,
23:45I'm very, very excited and proud of myself.
23:49It's a representation of who I am as a designer.
23:52You can tell immediately that these two looks are labor of love.
24:00It's like there's an actual inspiration here.
24:10I'm not proud of what I put down today.
24:13It's not my best work.
24:15And I'm feeling like I don't want to watch this runway.
24:26I feel good.
24:27It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy.
24:29It looks presentable.
24:31How did you get it to fit her that well?
24:33You see my fingers bleeding.
24:35The construction isn't bad.
24:37The dress is just ugly.
24:38Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:40Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:4210 is not enough.
24:44Take it to 11.
24:46This is exactly what my vision was.
24:48She is working it.
24:50She's feeling herself.
24:52She feels glamorous.
24:53She feels like a passion icon.
24:55She feels like a rock star.
24:57Wow.
24:58It's interesting.
24:59Katie.
25:00I'm so excited because I think I nailed the challenge.
25:03They both look cohesive.
25:05I don't think my unconventional garment was that bad, but definitely this is an elevated version of that.
25:16The previous critique lit a fire under my tail for me to show them what I got.
25:21And it's not enough.
25:22Wow.
25:23Take it up to 11.
25:24Don't settle for no less.
25:25Girl.
25:26Anastasia is making this a moment.
25:28The fashion fabric being so close to the original is cohesion.
25:34So I did my job.
25:35I'm proud of my little butterflies and they're flying so, so high.
25:41Wow.
25:42I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
25:43It's so sexy.
25:44The magic word again is cohesion.
25:47She looks so good in there.
25:48Hmm.
25:49I can taste the wind on the tip of my tongue that I've been waiting for.
25:52Hello.
25:53There was some really good looks there.
25:54Oh, wow.
25:55Wow.
25:56Wow.
25:57I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
25:58It's so sexy.
25:59The magic word again is cohesion.
26:00She looks so good in there.
26:01Hmm.
26:02I can taste the wind on the tip of my tongue that I've been waiting for.
26:08Hello.
26:13Hello.
26:14There were some really good looks you turned out.
26:18Obviously, we're judging you by your second look, not your unconventional materials look.
26:23We've scored your designs.
26:25Let's find out the results.
26:28Yujin, Joan, the two of you are safe.
26:35Joan, I know I was extremely critical on you about your unconventional look, but you redeemed yourself.
26:43Ethan.
26:44BJ.
26:45Jesus.
26:46You had our favorite looks on the runway today.
26:49Congratulations.
26:51Unfortunately, that means Antonio, Madeline, and Bolonia.
26:57You had our least favorite looks today.
26:59You guys can leave with the safe designers.
27:01I'm not surprised, but I'm praying for you.
27:04I'm praying for you.
27:05I'm praying for you.
27:06I'm praying for you.
27:07I'm praying for you.
27:08I'm praying for you.
27:09I'm not surprised, but I'm praying, wishing, manifesting that I don't go home.
27:16Yeah.
27:18Guess who's back?
27:20I know, right?
27:21Back again.
27:22Let's bring out your models.
27:24All right, Jesus.
27:25Let's start with you.
27:26Okay.
27:27I loved your looks.
27:28Thank you so much.
27:29It's stunning.
27:30I mean, how you made this, too, that you can sew like this impeccably is like crazy,
27:31you know?
27:32Yeah.
27:33It is so chic.
27:34I love the exaggerated hips and that red strip down the back.
27:41As a stylist, I'm thinking, what does it look 360, you know, when they're calling to the
27:47starlet over the shoulder.
27:48This dress could be on any runway in Paris.
27:51Yeah.
27:52This is really, really, really, really well done.
27:55I'm always thinking of what Law like in my-
27:56Law likes it, so you did a good job.
27:57So much.
27:58The dress is beautiful.
27:59The shape is beautiful.
28:00But when I saw the red stripe, I was convinced this was Ethan's look.
28:12Yeah.
28:13I thought so, too.
28:14Ethan did that same stripe on the sportswear look.
28:18I mean, called plagiarism in my book.
28:21Yeah, it's a little.
28:22It's a little bit.
28:23It's a little bit.
28:24Yeah.
28:25I'm just saying.
28:26Oh, my God.
28:31Ethan did that same stripe.
28:35Wow, Nina.
28:36Just because there's a red stripe and Ethan did that for a feature, like, to me, like,
28:41I saw no resemblance.
28:42Like, I feel like I did it in a different way and, like, I didn't even think of that.
28:46I think they inspire each other a lot.
28:48I am all for inspiration, but why this particular fabric?
28:53I mean, that was never my intention.
28:55That didn't even cross my mind.
28:56I picked the red just to reference from the mini dress.
29:00Yes.
29:01Plagiarism is a little harsh, but for Nina to have such an impact from my piece, I think,
29:08is an honor.
29:09So, sorry, Jesus, but if I own a red stripe now, maybe let me keep it.
29:16I don't have any history here, so I'm all for the red stripe.
29:19I loved it.
29:20The shape of the duchess satin and the way it wraps around her.
29:22Beautifully done.
29:23Thank you, Jesus.
29:25BJ?
29:26If you see what you can make out of a shuttlecock, it's quite amazing.
29:30Every time she says shuttlecock.
29:33I was watching that.
29:34I'm so mad.
29:35Okay, everyone says shuttlecock.
29:36Shuttlecock.
29:37Shuttlecock.
29:38Shuttlecock.
29:39I love shuttlecock for you.
29:40We'll never forget that.
29:41We'll never forget it now.
29:42The fabric that you chose, it's the same feeling of what the shuttlecock is giving us.
29:47And also what you gave here.
29:49Like, you always want to have a lot of interest, you know, around your cleavage and everything,
29:53and it's giving all of that.
29:55It's fragile, but strong, unexpected, really marvelous.
30:01The transparency, the tailoring, everything was really smart.
30:06Yes.
30:07I mean, it's the most perfect side boob I've ever seen.
30:09Jumpsuits are hard to fit.
30:11It's just...
30:12I think it's spot on.
30:13Thank you so much.
30:14Ethan, you're next.
30:15What did you stuff into the hips?
30:17What did you put in there?
30:19It's batting.
30:20Ethan is the drag queen, so he knows how to pad a hip.
30:23Oh.
30:24Right, so that...
30:25He brought that in his little toolbox, you know?
30:27Yeah.
30:28I think the dress is spectacular.
30:30I have to say, I'm kind of obsessed with it.
30:32I think the tailoring is great.
30:34I think you worked that dress like nobody's business.
30:36And the way that the shapes looked behind the screen when she came out,
30:39it was just phantasmical and really stunning,
30:42and I'm captivated by it.
30:43Can I see her without the...
30:47I mean, this is all you need.
30:51You didn't need the reveal.
30:53That's it.
30:54Can we just talk about the boobs when you see them on the side?
30:56I love it.
30:57I love those little cups that are poking out and giving that fabric.
31:00It's so cute.
31:01That little detail is so powerful.
31:04That's your reveal right there.
31:06You've got to understand to edit.
31:09All right, Ethan, BJ, Jesus, it's time to name the winner.
31:17Congratulations, BJ.
31:19Oh, my God.
31:21Good job, baby.
31:23You created our favorite look.
31:25Congrats.
31:26How does it feel?
31:27To be here and to...
31:29I'm speechless.
31:30I'm just happy.
31:31I cry when I'm happy.
31:33Yeah, this is tears of joy.
31:36You earned it.
31:37You absolutely earned it.
31:38Really beautiful.
31:39Winning this challenge makes me feel a reward for all the things that I've done
31:45to create those two looks.
31:47And I'm just really thankful that the judges appreciate my work.
31:50We have a winner.
31:57Winning this gives me the assurance that if I work hard and be innovative,
32:05then I can win this whole thing.
32:07Okay, let's bring out the bottom looks.
32:12Oy vey.
32:14Antonio, Madeline, Belania.
32:17Unfortunately, you were all these favorites today.
32:20Let's bring out your models.
32:23Oy, oy, oy.
32:26Oh, my God.
32:28All right, Belania.
32:29I'm just so confused by what you've done.
32:31I look at you and I see a young, clued in, fashion-forward, modern young woman.
32:37And then I see what you created today.
32:39And to me, this looks like a real old-fashioned look.
32:42You are supposed to create for tomorrow.
32:45The fabric looks cheap.
32:48Jersey fabric or something else in another color.
32:52This might be acceptable and might be okay.
32:55But with these colors and this fabric...
32:57Acceptable is not winning anything around here, though.
32:59Exactly.
33:00I've seen this dress.
33:01A corset with the ruffle bottom.
33:03And it's not my favorite.
33:05They're not twins, but they are sisters.
33:07Tacky and Jackie.
33:09And do you think this is a good dress?
33:11No.
33:12But today, my model called out sick.
33:14So I had to take in my dress by at least eight inches.
33:18That's not an excuse.
33:20Also, the model and you had to take it in, that's the strong part.
33:24That's what you did well.
33:25I don't love the really chunky straps.
33:27I know that the person who you had originally put it on might...
33:29Yeah, she was a size 20.
33:30I couldn't put certain styles on my model.
33:33So I said, okay, I will make a beautiful silhouette kind of dress.
33:37Had you presented that as a bathing suit and a sarong cover-up,
33:41I think it would have made more sense.
33:43Like putting her in shorts or pants or even a bathing suit.
33:46You guys probably would have gave me the same comment.
33:49What I don't understand is the body language and the attitude.
33:52Yeah, what is the attitude?
33:53So let's talk, let's back up and let's start there.
33:56You want to say something, but your lips...
33:59You're trying to not...
34:00Well, here's your chance.
34:01I'm just taking back because it's a lot that happens before you guys see it.
34:05But a lot happens before we see it every runway.
34:08What are these feelings? Because you're coming off really, really rude.
34:13Agreed.
34:14Okay, he wants to fight.
34:19You're coming off really, really rude and like dismissive.
34:23I'm trying to control my emotions because...
34:28I was trying to make my model feel comfortable and beautiful.
34:33And this is this model or the one that got sick?
34:35The one that got sick.
34:36Okay.
34:37I also think like you as a designer have to stay true to yourself.
34:40I don't really see you here.
34:41I think you should always stay true to yourself on what you think you would really want to create.
34:45I think that's really important.
34:47All right, Madeline, I don't see the cohesion.
34:50Here you have Space Girl in silver, shiny, flashy.
34:54And then you go to a somber, sad girl right next to her.
34:57It's like a whole different vibe I'm feeling from this.
35:00I actually like the way that you mimic the hard edges from your unconventional look.
35:06Just because you put some triangles onto the top doesn't make it cohesive for me.
35:12I really don't like the length of the skirt.
35:14The bottom of the skirt looks like a napkin.
35:17Like it's not enough strength.
35:19When you are presenting a runway, it's about the complete polished look.
35:25I think you're demure in your approach to your shapes.
35:28Like the skirt and the proportion of the top are almost the same.
35:31Can you raise the top like?
35:33Yeah, like if it was tiny and the sleeve was tiny and it was a little bit of a crop top.
35:37I just think like you could have gone bigger and pushed that skirt and pushed that shape.
35:42It feels like you're holding back.
35:43Fair enough.
35:44Antonio, I actually was probably the only one that gave this up.
35:48I am. They all hated it.
35:52That is true.
35:54That's true.
35:55That's very true.
35:56They look like modern girls of today.
35:59I love that it's sheer.
36:00I love that you see her G-string through it.
36:02I love her wet hair.
36:04It's very now.
36:05We can talk about the top.
36:07Obviously, there's some fit issues here, but...
36:09The top is, what is the top?
36:11It's a belt.
36:12The top is...
36:13I have a belt like that.
36:14It's terrible.
36:15I don't know if it was intentionally asymmetrical,
36:17but it wasn't asymmetrical enough, so I couldn't tell if it was just twisted.
36:20It should have been.
36:21It could have been.
36:22It's not.
36:23I mean, just the wedge, I can't go...
36:26I can't.
36:27It's problematic.
36:28I'm not mad at it.
36:29I'm not mad at the pants.
36:30I don't think the pants are bad.
36:31I'm just saying when I see a wedge, my husband always loves a wedge.
36:34When I have jeans on that are, like, so tight that it's like, he thinks that's hot.
36:39It's like a really good stripper costume, though.
36:43There is no reason you walk this girl out of here with these incredible glaring errors.
36:50I don't know.
36:51I don't know how you've made it this far.
36:53In terms of construction, there's a lot of problems here.
36:58I'm pissed.
36:59She had the nerve to say why I'm still in the competition.
37:04I feel attacked.
37:05Well, you got the judges really torn.
37:08That was very polarizing, which is great.
37:10That's what fashion is about.
37:11I'm like, sorry.
37:12Madeline, Antonio, Balania, we have a lot to talk about.
37:17You can leave the runway.
37:19Thank you so much.
37:20Yeah.
37:21What did you hear?
37:22We haven't made the decision yet, right?
37:24No.
37:25Heidi loved my love.
37:27Nina hated it.
37:28She's like, I don't know how you've made it this far.
37:31I'm like, whoa.
37:33So, Madeline.
37:35To me, she's making sad clothes.
37:38You know what it is.
37:39It feels sad and poor.
37:41I don't see the cohesion.
37:43Like, the first one, when it came out, I was like, okay.
37:45It had some pop and, like, some bands of, like, sparkle to it.
37:49You also could feel that the model was loving that, too.
37:52It felt like somebody took the air out of it.
37:54Like, I'm not proud of what I put down today.
37:57I don't think it's representative of me as a designer.
38:00I don't want to be putting things out there that are confused and sad girl.
38:06I like Antonio.
38:07I feel like there's stuff in there.
38:09Nina hate it.
38:10I hate it.
38:11I never saw her hate something so much.
38:14And look, I wrote, like, I wrote, like, my favorite.
38:17No, that was your favorite.
38:18Guys, Antonio is a little bit of smoke and mirrors.
38:22But he was the least offensive of the three.
38:24I don't know if Antonio can really deliver.
38:27I feel like my design wasn't the worst.
38:31Based on the challenge, when you put your heart and soul,
38:34and you work for over 14 hours, I don't feel like the judges are understanding.
38:39And it's getting to me.
38:40What do you guys think about Belania?
38:44I was so sad to find out that that was her look.
38:47She has this great personal style.
38:49You're right.
38:50That's great personal style.
38:51You know, she's very memorable.
38:54I think Belania got thrown off trying to make someone else happy as opposed to doing her own thing.
38:58And it feels like that kind of tripped her up, maybe.
39:00I get a sense of personality from Belania.
39:02I think there's spark in there.
39:04She did have to, like, cinch that in a lot, Belania, no?
39:07That's what designers do.
39:09I know, but, like, last minute, already they have problems.
39:12That's what designers do.
39:13It was Carmen Miranda without fruit on her head.
39:16It is a literal prom dress.
39:17Yeah.
39:1880s prom dress.
39:19Bad 80s prom dress.
39:20Yes.
39:21Ah, Belania.
39:22Why did you do this?
39:23I feel misunderstood because I tried to make something that I thought the judges wanted
39:29to see, but that was an epic fail.
39:32So if I stay in this competition, I am not listening to what anybody else has to say.
39:38I'm going to listen to myself.
39:40It's a toss.
39:41So who's the worst?
39:42It's a toss.
39:43Hi-yi-yi.
39:44Next time on Project Runway, for your next individual challenge, we're going straight.
39:57This is literally your challenge.
39:59Like, what are you doing?
40:00If I don't do this right, I will .
40:02Ethan.
40:03Come on.
40:04Let's put it on a monkey.
40:06Things are not working out as well as I thought they would.
40:09You have to get it together.
40:10Don't forget BJ's a silent killer, everyone.
40:13I've just focused on my work.
