00:00Previously on Project Runway
00:02This is the unconventional materials challenge
00:07Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
00:09A fight's breaking out! Fight!
00:11This is all mine.
00:12Jesus is a little bit bitchy.
00:15Joan, that glitter paper and popsicle dicks?
00:18Are you serious?
00:20I'm really far behind.
00:21There's just one small thing.
00:24The Runway show is happening in the workroom.
00:28This is the first ever in Project Runway history.
00:30What?
00:31This is creativity overload.
00:33Well, Yuchen, congratulations.
00:35You did a nice job.
00:36Now, what did not make the winning grade?
00:38Joseph.
00:39Ms. Jones.
00:40Antonio.
00:41The decision of which designer is going to be out
00:43will be made by all of you.
00:46A twist!
00:47No.
00:48I love everybody, but we have to make the decisions.
00:51Ms. Jones is the worst.
00:52I am not ready to go home.
00:54You have not seen what I can do as a designer.
00:57Joseph.
00:58That circle skirt's an insult.
01:00You look at Joseph McCray, you see Joseph McCray.
01:02Of course, I'm not going to take Antonio out.
01:04I'm not voting for Joseph.
01:06I'm just not.
01:07Splitting up the twins would be so gaggy.
01:09I think I know what to do.
01:13A stake for the winner is $200,000,
01:16a spread in Elle magazine,
01:18and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:21Okay.
01:22This is Project Runway.
01:31Wow, wow, wow.
01:33Okay, guys.
01:34Let's go.
01:35I feel bad for them.
01:37I'd rather be here than making that decision.
01:39I'm so shocked that we need to vote out the designer for this challenge.
01:45This is the Project Runway first.
01:47It's really hard because it feels like you're crushing someone's dreams,
01:52and there's blood in your hands.
01:55But it's Project Runway.
01:57One day you're in, and the next day you're out.
01:59All right, designers.
02:01Can you guys gather in your votes and bring them over to me?
02:10No, man.
02:12This is everybody.
02:13I'm a little nervous that these designers are going to vote me off just to separate my brother and I.
02:20We're powerful together, and they will send their biggest threat home.
02:23Joseph, Joan, Antonio.
02:26Two of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
02:31The first vote is for Joseph McRae.
02:37The second vote is for Miss Jo.
02:43I don't want to go home on a design that didn't speak to who I was as a designer.
02:48I hope the other designers keep me in the competition.
02:52The third vote is for Joseph McRae.
02:56Child do not play.
03:00So that's two votes for Joseph, and another one, and you'll be out, okay?
03:04Oh, my God.
03:05I guess this is when the true competition shows, because do they feel like my look is the worst?
03:11Or is it because I could be the most threat in this competition?
03:17The fourth vote is for Antonio.
03:23My brother might be going home right now, and I'm freaking out.
03:27The next vote is for...
03:32...Joseph McRae.
03:35Daddy.
03:36What is going home?
03:38No.
03:39I'm so sorry, Joseph.
03:42So that means you're out.
03:44I don't know if the vote was strategic, but if it was a game that they wanted to play, I guess the game has been played, so...
03:52It was such a pleasure working with you.
03:55I think you're incredibly talented.
03:58I know who you are.
03:59Yeah.
04:00I can't wait to see more of your clothes.
04:01You will.
04:02I know.
04:03I'm really sad to have my best friend in the competition leave, and I wish that I had stood up a little bit more for Joseph.
04:10I don't know that I could have swayed four people.
04:13Bye, everyone.
04:15No problem.
04:17I love you, too.
04:19As much as I didn't want to go home, listen, don't worry about me, because, baby, I'm about to be famous.
04:26Still iconic, bitch.
04:27Don't forget.
04:28And that's a wrap.
04:30Later, love.
04:31Bye.
04:34Bye.
04:35Say goodbye to Law.
04:36Bye, Law.
04:38Thank you, guys.
04:39Thanks for saving me.
04:40How are you guys feeling?
04:41That was definitely a curveball, and I think we're just, like, all full of emotions.
04:47Malin, you're very shaken up.
04:49I'm angry.
04:52Why?
04:53You have to make tough decisions in this business.
04:55No, I know.
04:56Not like that, though.
04:57No?
04:58I don't think it has to be that personal.
04:59It's hard.
05:00Trust me.
05:01I've been there.
05:02I get it.
05:03But it's a competition, and only one of you wins.
05:05Yeah.
05:06Like, everyone's going home at some point.
05:09It's designed to survive.
05:12And we're gonna go into your next challenge now.
05:18This competition is challenge, runway, one-day challenge, sewing, runway, club, challenge.
05:27No time.
05:28No sleep.
05:31Gaga would not be proud.
05:33Fashion takes inspiration from all kinds of things.
05:36Art, music, even the unconventional.
05:39So, for your next challenge, you'll be creating a runway-worthy version of your unconventional materials look.
05:51Completely made out of fabric.
05:54Runway version.
05:55I know not to use denim.
05:58Wow.
05:59If I had the energy to scream, I'd probably be screaming quite a bit.
06:04I didn't love the look that I made.
06:06And it can't just be a story.
06:08Visual, meaningful, they have to connect.
06:11Because both looks are gonna walk down the runway together.
06:15Wow.
06:16Oh, my God.
06:18Wow.
06:20Head home tonight to do some sketching, get some rest, and then I will meet you at Mood in the morning.
06:25Thank you, Chris.
06:26Good night.
06:27Thank you so much.
06:28Bye.
06:29Bye.
06:30For the next challenge, I'm really gonna step my up because I want to prove to the judges that I am an amazing designer and stylist.
06:37I think the only complaint in my life is a roach.
06:40So, we gotta fix that.
06:41Friction fans are amazing.
06:52Who would have thought that you could erase a fan?
06:55Guys, that was rough.
06:57Miss Joan, how do you feel?
06:59You're back for another week.
07:00Yeah.
07:01Just need to process everything.
07:02Yeah.
07:03I'm gonna put Joan on the runway.
07:05Oh, my God.
07:06This is a great opportunity to show your other side as a tailor.
07:09I've been tailoring for over 20 years.
07:12This is what I do.
07:13I can tailor a suit.
07:15So, this is my opportunity to bring it.
07:18Look, that's sick.
07:19I don't even sketch.
07:21My suits usually tell them what to sketch for me.
07:24I'm jealous of you guys for having brothers.
07:26I think it's an advantage.
07:28No, it's a huge advantage.
07:30It's a huge advantage.
07:31It's a huge advantage.
07:32Because they're going to, no matter what, help one another.
07:34Yeah.
07:35The last challenge was the first individual challenge.
07:37But the twins are still working together.
07:41If that is what it takes to win for y'all, awesome.
07:44But I'm able to beat it up without having family in the room.
07:48Although, I have a question.
07:49Do you think both of you can do one challenge where you're completely separate?
07:55Because you're used to be, like, working each other.
07:57Yeah.
07:58So, maybe it's for this challenge.
07:59Like, just challenge yourself.
08:00Let's not help each other, and let's see what's going to happen.
08:03I think that BJ's smart.
08:05She knows how to play the game.
08:09What's going to be the outcome?
08:10Are you up for the challenge?
08:12As an individual designer, I know I can do it.
08:15I know I'm talented.
08:16I know I'm good.
08:17Let's shut this bitch up.
08:18Let's prove to them this challenge.
08:20Yeah.
08:21I'm excited if they can actually do it.
08:24We will see.
08:25Done.
08:26So, that's completely solo challenge.
08:29BJ, over my dead body that you think you're going to separate Antonio and I.
08:34So, now, it's on.
08:42All right, remember this challenge.
08:47Runway-worthy version to kind of complement your unconventional look.
08:5230 minutes, $350.
08:54Okay, go.
08:55Here we go.
08:56Right now.
09:02Just take a half yard off, and then I can get that.
09:05Keep looking.
09:06You just started.
09:07Put that backpack down and dig through these rolls.
09:09All right.
09:10Oh, we need pins, bitch.
09:11The two boxes.
09:12Of course.
09:13The twins are shopping together.
09:16I am so shocked at the happy twins.
09:20Going gray again.
09:21Mm-hmm.
09:22Boring.
09:23I'm capable of a lot more than when I put down the runway in the last challenge.
09:27However, to turn something that I hated into something that I like is going to take some real work.
09:35You don't want anything iridescent-y?
09:37I think that that's pretty iridescent.
09:39And I'm going to do stuff to it.
09:41My confidant, my best friend here, Joseph McRae, has left.
09:45So I'm definitely feeling that loss.
09:47And I need a solid amount of time to sit with what happened, but I don't have time to do that.
09:54Designer.
09:55Designer.
09:56Designer.
09:57Designer.
09:58Designer.
09:59Oh, this looks like rotten in here.
10:01Oh, it's Miss Jones' dress.
10:03I don't want to see that.
10:05Last challenge, I was so far in the bottom that they had to dig me out the dirt.
10:11It looks like dead vegetation.
10:13Just throw her in a compost.
10:15I have to take inspiration from it.
10:18I'm going to try and redeem myself.
10:20So I'm going to have to show Laura who I am as a designer.
10:24Leave it all on the runway.
10:26I really don't want to look at this all day.
10:28Shumped a bitch in the corner.
10:30No one puts baby in a corner.
10:33However, I need her gone.
10:36One, two, three, four.
10:38Hello.
10:39Hello.
10:41Oh, is that the crotch?
10:45It's a banana hammock.
10:46Oh, wow.
10:49I want to create a cocoon outer shell gown that reveals into like a J-Lo butterfly sexy moment.
10:57Oh, my God, but we have so much to make.
11:00Just two pieces.
11:01Okay.
11:02You can't have her whole butt out, though, like that.
11:04I want about this much crap.
11:08How are they going to connect visually in some way?
11:10I think because these are triangular, they're going to be covering the whole thing.
11:14Oh.
11:17Am I hurting your ears?
11:18Yes.
11:19All right, I'll stop.
11:20You can wait.
11:21I didn't love the look that I made last week.
11:22That's not me.
11:23So I'm making these hard kind of sharp edges into something more soft.
11:29She's going to be feathery.
11:30She's going to be bird-like.
11:32She's going to be awesome.
11:33Happening over here, I want to keep the same silhouette where it's see-through and sexy.
11:38Mm-hmm.
11:39So I want to do a cigarette pant with a corset.
11:41Your corset top needs to be incredible.
11:43It's going to fit well.
11:44Make sure.
11:45I'm trying it right now.
11:46I'm pretty fast.
11:47Okay.
11:48This is a challenge.
11:49I almost got voted off.
11:50But I'm here for another week.
11:51And I'm going to set myself apart from the other designers and my brother.
11:54I want to stand out.
11:55I already do.
11:56Because I'm gorgeous.
11:58Perfection.
11:59Okay, I can break this out.
12:02The look was very rock and cool.
12:05But you're doing like an evening gown.
12:07So it's like, how do you make that feel like edgy?
12:09I wanted to utilize the red instead of doing a front lapel to incorporate a back lapel.
12:15I mean, you have to have the red in some way to visually connect.
12:18Of course.
12:19So it's a gown, right?
12:20Yes.
12:21This is very streetwear, very, I'm going to a bashment party.
12:24Uh-huh.
12:25You know?
12:26Yep.
12:27And this is very, I'm stepping on the runway.
12:28I've never made a dress specifically like this before, but I want to showcase my skills
12:34as far as gown making goes for a curvier woman.
12:38It's a flag dress.
12:40When I think of soccer, I think of World Cup.
12:42All these countries, it's exciting.
12:45My idea is to make this black and white soccer ball bomber jacket with this big flag dress
12:51that celebrates the energy of a soccer stadium.
12:54Edit the colors like you edited those colors.
12:56Yeah.
12:57On that look.
12:58Remember, visually connected.
12:59Yeah.
13:00Wow.
13:01That looks pretty.
13:02For this one, I want the boning to be outside.
13:04Yeah.
13:05I really want to make another structure using the boning.
13:10It's a very meticulous process because boning is something that you need to hand sew.
13:15But I haven't worn yet.
13:17And I want the judges to see my impeccable craftsmanship in all the things that I do.
13:22This is my power.
13:23My hands.
13:24Wow.
13:25This is a beautifully cut suit.
13:27Yeah.
13:28Clearly, you can make clothes.
13:29So I get that you want to do this beautiful, amazing suit.
13:32But I think the connection will still be important, you know?
13:35And that's why I'm trying to still keep the connectivity with the corset tree.
13:39With the corset tree.
13:40I was even thinking of taking the popsicle sticks.
13:43If you do that, I quit right now.
13:45Child.
13:46I just want them to see something here that they didn't see there.
13:54You know, Law really didn't like the stress.
13:56You got to prove them wrong.
13:57Okay.
13:58Law have mercy.
14:00Everyone is a little worried about me, you know, but I got this.
14:04I'm a fighter.
14:05I've been through the hardest fight of my life.
14:09Back in 2020, I made it onto the cast of Project Runway for the first time.
14:16But I also found out that I had breast cancer and I needed to start treatment immediately.
14:23My biggest fear is during that time is, am I going to be strong enough to fight and beat this thing?
14:30But let me tell you, I rang that bell and Mama Joan is four years cancer free.
14:39This is more than just a competition for me.
14:42This is a full circle moment.
14:45To win Project Runway would be such a validation.
14:50I want to show that I can be an inspiration to so many women out there that there is life after, you know, being diagnosed.
14:59Oh, I'm like a walking zombie right now.
15:22I think the one day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because like there is no time to rest.
15:27Like I'm not even like, to be honest, like even like inspired to do this.
15:39Seeing my brother going through all the emotions, that's not usually his persona.
15:43He's usually stronger than I am.
15:47I'm really concerned because I want him to still be in the competition.
15:54No, no, no.
15:57I don't even want to do it, to be honest.
16:00It's a lot.
16:02Should we go home? No. Come on.
16:04I'm really sorry that Jesus is struggling, but so am I.
16:09Like I wish I have my best friend here so that I have someone that I can lean on to.
16:13But you know, I have to do it on my own.
16:15Someone needs to take that sense of comfort from them so that they can realize that this is a competition.
16:22I see everybody keeping an eye on us.
16:24All them bitches want to separate us.
16:26He's my twin brother.
16:27So if you with my brother, then you're going to have two enemies.
16:34You get a model.
16:35You get a model.
16:37Baby.
16:38Let's do it.
16:39I made it a little bit big.
16:41Is it asymmetrical desktop?
16:43Yeah.
16:44Well, it looks kind of like a little bit like a mistake because it's like not enough.
16:48I think you still have to figure out this understructure.
16:50Yeah.
16:51For me, I don't, it doesn't look like anything.
16:54You all right?
16:56You're just so tired.
16:58You're beat down.
16:59You're done.
17:00It's a lot.
17:01It's a lot.
17:02Suck it up.
17:03You've already been here before.
17:04Don't worry.
17:05You're fine.
17:06It looks fabulous.
17:07Get it together.
17:08Yeah.
17:09It's going to be cool.
17:10I like it with just one side.
17:11I do too.
17:12I'm really grateful to have Christian.
17:14I think he sees a vision.
17:15I think he likes my work.
17:17And that just really truly gives me strength.
17:20I'm ready to show the judges exactly what I am made of.
17:27That red stripe on Jesus' gown is looking pretty familiar.
17:33What the ?
17:34Here we go.
17:35I've been working primarily on the outer part.
17:38So I have a lot of finessing to do.
17:40Are you realizing that this doesn't work?
17:42It needs a lot of shajang.
17:43So what are you going to do?
17:45Okay.
17:46Let's try on the other dress.
17:47The dress underneath is not good.
17:49Do you think I should scrap the whole reveal?
17:51I think you have to scrap one of them.
17:53Yes.
17:54That's what I'm saying.
17:55Then you still have one look.
17:56You got to try something.
17:57I think the shoulders could still be more.
18:00Yeah.
18:01This is the only one that I left.
18:02But I think I can elaborate it more.
18:04Hand sewing is a major component to execute that design.
18:09And I don't have a lot of time left.
18:11But I've applied to be in the show since 2012.
18:15I've waited for 13 years.
18:17And now that I'm here, I'm not going to waste any opportunity to show the judges what I can do.
18:23You just dislike it.
18:26This looks really messy.
18:28The frayed edges on this looks very amateur.
18:32Okay.
18:33I really don't want this amateur tag to be put on me.
18:37That's a fear of mine because I taught myself for the most part.
18:41So my construction skills are sometimes behind other people.
18:45I got to figure it out.
18:47Maybe the organza looks a little more refined and beautiful and soft.
18:52And maybe it's that all over in diamond shape.
18:55Yeah, that's helpful.
18:56I'm going for soft, feathery, maybe like a snowy egret.
19:01But I'm seeing a dirty, dirty little pigeon.
19:04That's it, designers.
19:06I'm in trouble.
19:07Say goodbye to your models.
19:09Oh, God.
19:15Oh, I haven't had to pivot this hard at all this competition.
19:19Two dresses is too much.
19:21So the JLo dress is dead.
19:24I'm going to take this cocoon and make an extensive alteration.
19:29Okay, guys.
19:30One hour.
19:31I want my brother here to help me.
19:34They're both really talented.
19:35So am I jealous?
19:36Yes.
19:37And like, I want that.
19:38I have to redo my sleeves because they're ugly.
19:41I have to make the entire skirt.
19:43I'm feeling like this is deeply, deeply undoable.
19:50Good morning, designers.
19:51We have a show to do.
19:52Fashion superheroes, here we come.
19:54They beat!
19:55Be aggressive!
19:56Be aggressive.
19:57Be aggressive!
19:58Be aggressive!
19:59Be aggressive!
20:00Be aggressive!
20:01Yay!
20:02Woo, that's cold.
20:03Dips out.
20:04Superheroes, here we come!
20:06Be aggressive!
20:08Be aggressive!
20:10Be aggressive!
20:12Yay!
20:14Whew, that's cold.
20:16Nips out.
20:18Alania.
20:20Hello. Oh, God. Sorry, didn't mean to scare you.
20:22Yes. Emily's called in sick.
20:24So, what we
20:26are thinking of doing is if we can move
20:28Shanae over to this look
20:30and we'll use the alt model for
20:32your episode 4 looks. Ooh.
20:34She's a lot smaller.
20:36Oh, dear God.
20:38Oh, my brain
20:40is frying.
20:42I made my dress to fit my
20:44size 20 model like a glove.
20:46What are you saying to me right now?
20:48I have three hours to
20:50make this size 20 into
20:52size 14? 12?
20:54I don't know where to start right now.
20:56Model! Model!
20:58Size will be strong.
21:00We're gonna cover her booties.
21:02I had to find another way to use the black
21:04sheer. So, I think having
21:06a little bit of sexy side boot moment and the
21:08scarf will be a little nod
21:10to the original piece.
21:12How are you guys doing? Good.
21:14How are you doing?
21:15Alania, how's it going?
21:16If my hand stopped shaking,
21:18I can sew. You can do it.
21:20I don't know.
21:22Beautiful? Gorgeous.
21:24Thank you for that advice. What would I do
21:26for you in my life?
21:28You're starting to make me have a crush on you.
21:30Everybody has a crush on me. Hello.
21:32What is that little thong?
21:34What in the world?
21:36Marina, I made you a floss.
21:38I am a Latina hooker.
21:40A sexy hooshie mama.
21:42Not everyone can make a thong.
21:44I know it's just a little strange, but
21:46you gotta get the right measurements,
21:48I don't know what that is.
21:50Joe cannot handle the thongs
21:52in the room.
21:54To me, a thong is not
21:56a fashion moment, okay?
21:58That is underwear.
22:00VJ and the designers
22:02are trying to separate Antonio
22:04and I. Well, maybe you two
22:06do need to separate it. You're working on his garment
22:08right now. I'm gonna separate you two.
22:10And then we'll see who wins.
22:12Bitch.
22:14Child.
22:16See? Even Christian noticed it.
22:18What did he say?
22:20He's in the paradise.
22:22She's a little jealous. Oh my God.
22:24Alright designers, we're sending your model
22:26to the Ulta Beauty salon.
22:28The divas.
22:30I think you see what's going on in Glam.
22:32Okay, so let me see. Don't get crazy.
22:34I'm not. How are you feeling about it so far?
22:36You're the best, so I trust you.
22:38We do this every day, you know, at every Ulta Beauty
22:40has a salon that you can walk into
22:42and have a consultation with a hair stylist or a makeup artist
22:44to make your vision come to life. We do the same thing.
22:46So don't even worry. We're gonna make it happen for you.
22:48Perfect. I love Ulta Beauty. You guys are the best.
22:54Oh my God.
22:56It's done? No, it's not done yet.
22:58My hands are really, really tired.
23:00I will add more here.
23:02Are you? Yeah.
23:04I'm scared if I can really finish it on time.
23:06Yeah, you have like an hour.
23:08Mia, can you come here?
23:10God damn it. Are you finished?
23:12Yeah. You need help someone?
23:14Um, just stock this one.
23:16After that, I'm finished. Thank you so much.
23:18BJ, really?
23:20She gives me and my brother such a hard time
23:22because we help each other.
23:24But when she needs help, it's fine.
23:28Miss Madeline, how's your skirt?
23:30My goal was to get it done by the time the models got here.
23:32I am really far behind.
23:34I'm just ruffling around. No.
23:36There's never enough time.
23:38At this point, like, I know I'm gonna hate this look.
23:40What the hell?
23:42But I just need it to be closed.
23:44All right, we're walking in 30 seconds, you guys.
23:52Yay. Hello, designers.
23:54Welcome to the runway.
23:56As I say in fashion, one day you're in,
23:58and the next day, you're out.
24:00For this challenge, you were asked to create a look
24:02inspired by your unconventional materials design,
24:05but made completely out of fabric.
24:07The connection between the two must be visual and meaningful.
24:10All right, let's meet the judges.
24:12CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect,
24:16Laura Roach.
24:18Editor of Elle Magazine, Nina Garcia.
24:22Nina.
24:24And our guest judge for today,
24:26fashion designer and business titan, Jenna Lyons.
24:30Woo!
24:31That's good.
24:33All right, let's start the show.
24:42My looks looks very cohesive together.
24:44The bomber jacket looks so sexy, so hot, so modern,
24:49and the dress is cool.
24:51It's just so amazing.
24:53I feel so good.
24:54Super creative.
24:55Like a superhero.
24:57But this is still unconventional to me.
25:06I'm so nervous, but at the same time,
25:08I'm very, very excited and proud of myself.
25:11It's a representation of who I am as a designer.
25:14You can tell immediately that these two looks
25:17are a labor of love.
25:22It's like there's an actual inspiration here.
25:33I'm not proud of what I put down today.
25:36It's not my best work.
25:37And I'm feeling like I don't want to watch this runway.
25:42Ain't no feeling that you can't break through.
25:45Ain't no limit to what you can't do.
25:48I feel good.
25:49It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy.
25:52It looks presentable.
25:53How did you get it to fit her that well?
25:55You see my fingers bleeding.
25:57The construction isn't bad.
25:59The dress is just ugly.
26:01Turn it up, turn it up now.
26:03Turn it up, turn it up now.
26:05Planting is not enough.
26:06Take it to 11.
26:07Take it to 11.
26:09This is exactly what my vision was.
26:11She is working it.
26:13She's feeling herself.
26:14She feels glamorous.
26:16She feels like a fashion icon.
26:17She feels like a rock star.
26:20Wow.
26:21It's interesting.
26:23Katie.
26:24I'm so excited because I think I nailed the challenge.
26:26They both look cohesive.
26:28I don't think my unconventional garment was that bad.
26:34But definitely this is an elevated version of that.
26:38The previous critique lit a fire under my tail for me to show them what I got.
26:44It's not enough.
26:47Wow.
26:52Pearl.
26:53Anastasia is making this a moment.
26:56The fashion fabric being so close to the original is cohesion.
27:02So I did my job.
27:04I'm proud of my little butterflies and they're flying so, so high.
27:14Wow.
27:15I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
27:17It's so sexy.
27:18The magic word again is cohesion.
27:21She looks so good in that.
27:24I can taste the wind and the tip of my tongue that I've been waiting for.
27:36Hello.
27:37There were some really good looks you turned out.
27:40Obviously we're judging you by your second look, not your unconventional materials look.
27:46We've scored your designs.
27:47Let's find out the results.
27:49Eugene.
27:50Eugene.
27:52Joan.
27:55The two of you are safe.
27:58Joan.
27:59I know I was extremely critical on you about your unconventional look, but you redeemed yourself.
28:07Ethan.
28:09BJ.
28:10Jesus.
28:12You had our favorite looks on the runway today.
28:15Congratulations.
28:19Unfortunately, that means Antonio, Madeline, and Bolania.
28:23You had our least favorite looks today.
28:26You guys can leave with the safe designers.
28:30I'm not surprised, but I'm praying, wishing, manifesting that I don't go home.
28:40Yeah.
28:42Guess who's back.
28:43I know, right?
28:44I know, right?
28:45Back again.
28:46Let's bring out your models.
28:50All right, Jesus.
28:51Let's start with you.
28:52Okay.
28:53I loved your look.
28:54Thank you so much.
28:55It's stunning.
28:56I mean, how you made this, too, that you can sew, like, this impeccably is like crazy,
29:00you know?
29:01Yeah.
29:02It is so chic.
29:03I love the exaggerated hips and that red strip down the back.
29:07As a stylist, I'm thinking, what does it look 360?
29:10You know, when they're calling to the starlet, over this shoulder.
29:13This dress could be on any runway in Paris.
29:17Yeah.
29:18This is really, really, really, really well done.
29:20I'm always thinking about what Law likes it.
29:23Law likes it, so you did a good job.
29:24Thank you so much.
29:25The dress is beautiful.
29:27The shape is beautiful.
29:29But when I saw the red stripe, I was convinced this was Ethan's look.
29:35Yeah.
29:36I thought so, too.
29:37Ethan did that same stripe on the sportswear look.
29:41I mean, called plagiarism in my book.
29:44Yeah, it's a little.
29:45It's a little bit.
29:46It's a little bit.
29:47I'm just saying.
29:49Oh, my God.
29:50Ethan did that same stripe.
29:51Wow, Nina.
29:52Just because there's a red stripe and Ethan did that for a leecher, like, to me, like, I saw no resemblance.
30:05Like, I feel like I did it in a different way.
30:07And, like, I didn't even think of that.
30:09I think they inspire each other a lot.
30:11Yeah, I am all for inspiration.
30:13But why this particular fabric?
30:16I mean, that was never my intention.
30:18That didn't even cross my mind.
30:19I picked the red just to reference from the mini dress.
30:23Plagiarism is a little harsh.
30:25But for Nina to have such an impact from my piece, I think, is an honor.
30:31So, sorry, Jesus, but if I own a red stripe now, maybe let me keep it.
30:38I don't have any history here, so I'm all for the red stripe.
30:40I loved it.
30:41The shape of the Duchess Satin and the way it wraps around her.
30:44Beautifully done.
30:45Thank you, Jesus.
30:47BJ?
30:48If you see what you can make out of a shuttlecock, it's quite amazing.
30:52Every time she says shuttlecock.
30:55I was watching that.
30:56I'm so mad.
30:57Okay, everyone says shuttlecock.
30:58Shuttlecock.
30:59Shuttlecock.
31:00Shuttlecock.
31:01I love shuttlecock for you.
31:02We'll never forget that.
31:03We'll never forget it now.
31:05The fabric that you chose, it's the same feeling of what the shuttlecock is giving us.
31:10And also what you gave here.
31:11Like, you always want to have a lot of interest, you know, around your cleavage and everything,
31:16and it's giving all of that.
31:17It's fragile, but strong, unexpected, really marvelous.
31:24The transparency, the tailoring, everything was really smart.
31:29Yes.
31:30I mean, it's the most perfect side boob I've ever seen.
31:32Jumpsuits are hard to fit.
31:33It's just, I think it's spot on.
31:35Thank you so much.
31:36Ethan, you're next.
31:37What did you stuff into the hips?
31:40What did you put in there?
31:41It's batting.
31:42Ethan is the drag queen, so he knows how to pad a hip.
31:45Oh.
31:46Right, so that, that, he brought that in his little toolbox, you know?
31:49Yeah.
31:50Um, I think the dress is spectacular.
31:53I have to say, I'm kind of obsessed with it.
31:55I think the tailoring is great.
31:56I think you worked that dress like nobody's business.
31:58And the way that the shapes looked behind the screen when she came out, it was just
32:03phantasmical and really stunning, and I'm captivated by it.
32:06Can I see her without the...
32:09I mean, this is all you need.
32:13You didn't need the reveal.
32:15That's it.
32:16Can we just talk about the boobs when you see them on the side?
32:19I love it.
32:20These little cups that are poking out and giving that fabric is so cute.
32:23That little detail is so powerful.
32:26That's your reveal right there.
32:28You've got to understand to edit.
32:31All right, Ethan, BJ, Jesus.
32:35It's time to name the winner.
32:39Congratulations, BJ.
32:43Great job, baby.
32:45You created our favorite look.
32:47Congrats.
32:48How does it feel?
32:49To be here and to...
32:51I'm speechless.
32:52I'm just happy.
32:53I cry when I'm happy.
32:54Yeah, this is Tears of Joy.
32:58You earned it.
32:59You absolutely earned it.
33:00Really beautiful.
33:01Yeah.
33:02Winning this challenge makes me feel a reward for all the things that I've done to create those
33:08two looks, and I'm just really thankful that the judges appreciate my work.
33:12We have a winner.
33:13Winning this gives me the assurance that if I work hard and be innovative, then I can win this whole thing.
33:29Okay, let's bring out the bottom looks.
33:31Oy vey.
33:36Antonio, Madeline, Belania.
33:40Unfortunately, you were all these favorites today.
33:43Let's bring out your models.
33:45Oy, oy, oy.
33:48Oh, my God.
33:50All right, Belania, I'm just so confused by what you've done.
33:54Look at you, and I see a young, clued-in, fashion-forward, modern young woman.
33:59And then I see what you created today, and to me, this looks like a real old-fashioned look.
34:05You are supposed to create for tomorrow.
34:09The fabric looks cheap.
34:12Jersey fabric or something else in another color, this might be acceptable and might be okay.
34:17But with these colors and this fabric...
34:19Acceptable is not winning anything around here, though.
34:21Exactly.
34:22I've seen this dress, a corset with the ruffle bottom, and it's not my favorite.
34:27They're not twins, but they are sisters, Tacky and Jackie.
34:31And do you think this is a good dress?
34:33No, but today my model called out sick, so I had to take in my dress by at least eight inches.
34:40That's not an excuse.
34:43Also, the model, and you had to take it in, that's the strong part.
34:46That's what you did well.
34:48I don't love the really chunky straps.
34:49I know that the person who you had originally put it on might have...
34:52Yeah, she was a size 20.
34:53I couldn't put certain styles on my model, so I said, okay, I will make a beautiful silhouette kind of dress.
34:59Had you presented that as a bathing suit and a sarong cover-up, I think it would have made more sense.
35:05Like, putting her in shorts or pants or even a bathing suit.
35:08You guys probably would have gave me the same comment.
35:11What I don't understand is the body language and the attitude.
35:14Yeah, what is the attitude?
35:15So let's talk, let's back up and let's start there.
35:18You want to say something, but your lips keep trying to...
35:21Well, here's your chance.
35:23I'm just taking back, because there's a lot that happens before you guys see it.
35:27But a lot happens before we see it every runway.
35:30What are these feelings? Because you're coming off really, really rude.
35:35Agreed.
35:36Okay, he wants to fight.
35:42You're coming off really, really rude and like dismissive.
35:46I'm trying to control my emotions because I was trying to make my model feel comfortable and beautiful.
35:55And this is this model or the one that got sick?
35:57The one that got sick.
35:58The one that got sick.
35:59Okay.
36:00I also think like you as a designer have to stay true to yourself.
36:02I don't really see you here.
36:03I think you should always stay true to yourself on what you think you would really want to create.
36:08I think that's really important.
36:10All right, Madeline, I don't see the cohesion.
36:13Here you have Space Girl in silver, shiny, flashy.
36:16And then you go to a somber, sad girl right next to her.
36:20It's like a whole different vibe I'm feeling from this.
36:23I actually like the way that you mimic the hard edges from your unconventional look.
36:29Just because you put some triangles onto the top doesn't make it cohesive for me.
36:34I really don't like the length of the skirt.
36:37The bottom of the skirt looks like a napkin.
36:40Like it's not enough strength.
36:42When you are presenting a runway, it's about the complete polished look.
36:48I think you're demure in your approach to your shapes.
36:51Like the skirt and the proportion of the top are almost the same.
36:54Can you raise the top like?
36:56Yeah, like if it was tiny and the sleeve was tiny and it was a little bit of a crop top.
37:00I just think like you could have gone bigger and pushed that skirt and pushed that shape.
37:04It feels like you're holding back.
37:05Fair enough.
37:07Antonio, I actually was probably the only one that gave this a high score.
37:13I am. They all hated it.
37:15Tattletail.
37:17That's very true.
37:19They look like modern girls of today.
37:21I love that it's sheer.
37:23I love that you see her G-string through it.
37:25I love her wet hair.
37:27It's very now.
37:28We can talk about the top.
37:30Obviously, there's some fit issues here, but...
37:32The top is...
37:33What is the top?
37:34It's a belt.
37:35The top is...
37:36I have a belt like that.
37:37Terrible.
37:38I don't know if it was intentionally asymmetrical, but it wasn't asymmetrical enough.
37:41So I couldn't tell if it was just twisted.
37:42It should have been.
37:43It could have been.
37:45It's not.
37:46I mean, just the wedge.
37:47I can't go...
37:48I can't.
37:49It's problematic.
37:50I'm not mad at it.
37:51I'm not mad at it.
37:52I'm not mad at the pants.
37:53I don't think the pants are bad.
37:54I'm just saying when I see a wedge, my husband always loves a wedge.
37:57When I have jeans on that are like so tight that it's like...
38:00He thinks that's hot.
38:01It's like a really good stripper costume doll.
38:06There is no reason you walk this girl out of here with these incredible glaring errors.
38:13I don't know.
38:14I don't know how you made it this far.
38:16In terms of construction, there's a lot of problems here.
38:21I'm pissed.
38:22She got the nerve to say why I'm stealing the competition.
38:26I feel attacked.
38:27Well, you got the judges really torn.
38:30That was very polarizing.
38:32Which is great.
38:33That's what fashion is about.
38:34I'm sorry.
38:35Madeline, Antonio, Balania.
38:38We have a lot to talk about.
38:40You can leave the runway.
38:41Thank you so much.
38:44Yeah.
38:45What did you hear?
38:46We haven't made the decision yet, right?
38:47No.
38:48Heidi loved my love.
38:50Nina hated it.
38:51She's like, I don't know how you made it this far.
38:53I'm like, whoa.
38:56So, Madeline.
38:57To me, she's making sad clothes.
39:00You know what it is.
39:01It feels sad and poor.
39:03I don't see the cohesion.
39:05Like, the first one, when it came out, I was like, okay.
39:08It had some pop and, like, some fancy, like, sparkle to it.
39:11You also could feel that the model was loving that, too.
39:14It felt like somebody took the air out of it.
39:16Like, I'm not proud of what I put down today.
39:20I don't think it's representative of me as a designer.
39:23I don't want to be putting things out there that are confused and sad girl.
39:29I like Antonio.
39:30I feel like there's stuff in there.
39:32Nina hated it.
39:33I hate it.
39:34I've never saw her hate something so much.
39:36And look, I wrote, like, I wrote, like, my favorite.
39:39No, that was your favorite.
39:41Guys, Antonio is a little bit of smoke and mirrors.
39:45But he was the least offensive of the three.
39:47I don't know if Antonio can really deliver.
39:50I feel like my design wasn't the worst.
39:53Based on the challenge, when you put your heart and soul,
39:56and you work for over 14 hours,
39:59I don't feel like the judges are understanding.
40:01And it's getting to me.
40:05What do you guys think about Blania?
40:06I was so sad to find out that that was her look.
40:09She has this great personal style.
40:12You think that's great personal style?
40:14You know, she's very memorable.
40:17I think Blania got thrown off trying to make someone else happy
40:20as opposed to doing her own thing,
40:21and it feels like that kind of tripped her up, maybe.
40:23I get a sense of personality from Blania.
40:25I think there's spark in there.
40:27She did have to, like, cinch that in a lot, Blania, no?
40:30That's what designers do.
40:32I know, but, like, last minute already they have a problem.
