00:20you know my reflection on the game was for 60-70 minutes we were right in this game really
00:27I thought we was outstanding and without the ball with the ball and ask the players to play
00:35with a real bravery and courage today and probably when you when you when you say them
00:40words you you fall back on maybe a desire a passion and don't give up but there's another
00:47side to that where you need to be brave and we needed to show our quality and I thought for
00:52like I said for 70 odd minutes we're right in this game cause cause see some problems the
01:00two goals which can happen here games can quickly go away from you and the two goals were were
01:07obviously hammer blows for us I thought we reacted again in the right way and and showed
01:11an impetus about us and I think it's fair to say that the back end of the game just really
01:15falls away from us and obviously the scoreline reflects the scoreline like it does I don't
01:22feel I didn't feel in game that that that game reflected a 5-1 but the facts are that's what
01:29goes down on print and that that's the reality
01:36Hi Scott I imagine it's quite difficult for the team to play quite well as they have in this game
01:42the Liverpool game the United game and I just wondered what you're saying to the players to
01:47try and keep them up cause it can be really dispiriting to play so well and then just have
01:52late things at the end that I think they're going to be my biggest challenges this year
01:56and us as a group cause I think you're right we've we're coming the seasons fixtures what we've
02:03been produced or what what's been there have been some real real tough fixtures and there's massive
02:10massive positives from them fixtures but you're right we've been we've been given some hammer blows
02:16and some knockout punches in in manual way in the last minute Liverpool and in today as well in terms
02:22of the scoreline I'm saying we was worthy of winning this game today but certainly our performance at
02:27times it was huge positives and it didn't reflect the actual scoreline that's something I'll have to
02:33manage for sure and anyone sitting in my position with us as a team or us what the team we're going
02:38to be this year you know I'm very conscious of that at the start of the season and always reference
02:43that to the players really so we've got real some real core foundations here and a real understanding
02:49maybe what the journey is going to look like at times and I'm often one that takes a lot of
02:54positives can see certain negatives and I can see them in every fixture but we'll keep going and we'll
03:00keep trying to perform like we did here because if we perform like we did today like I said we'll be
03:04hugely competitive this year and I think anyone coming into this stadium today seeing a team that's
03:09just come up from the championship coming into the Etihad with the class the quality of what Man City
03:15possess I think you see a brave team today I think you see a good team at times I think you see a team
03:21that that really can execute an endeavor about them and for that they take massive massive positives from
03:27I just got in lots of what you just said how important is it to have experienced pros like
03:36car walker in the squad to keep the young players heads up definitely yeah end up on the end of a five one
03:43yeah exactly that yeah and um I've I've been here many times watching as a spectator I've played here
03:51as well and I've also managed here and that that game today I've seen it happen to to a lot a lot of
03:58teams really so certainly how the game goes I was immensely proud I stood in that I stood in that
04:04technical box for 70 minutes 60 odd minutes from teams I've coached here looking at a team what I
04:09thought yeah we look we look every bit here we're we're showing some some real signs I thought we
04:16had real real courage about us but you're right them experiences starting with me starting with
04:20with Carl starting with Barnes there's many in that changing room that needs to be really rational in
04:27a world what sometimes isn't rational this is the world we live in um and our egos are dented and
04:32some of them boys in there are bitterly disappointed um we'll um I'll break it down to them and I'll give
04:38them a real understanding of the positives and the negatives
04:40Hi Scott um good news you're not going to be coming back to Manchester again this season at least
04:47um you spoke about the bravery there um how important is that going to be when you are coming
04:52up against a different kind of pressure against games that are a little bit more winnable such as
04:57against a struggling Aston Villa or Leeds United or even the Wolves are you going to need them to
05:01continue to be brave when their onus is on them to try and be a bit more attacking
05:05for sure yeah 100% and I'll probably look we'll probably um highlight our performances
05:12against the fixtures that we're coming out of and if we can recreate that that endeavor that
05:19character that quality then it will give us an incredible foothold an incredible chance to
05:25to try and get results in in them games there's no easy games in the Premier League and like I said
05:31the biggest thing for me my biggest learning over a team like we're going to be is the morale and
05:38these little um jabs that we're having don't um detract from what we need to be and what we're
05:43going to need to to do we can fail for sure and at the end of the season it may be the case we can
05:48lose football matches like we've lost today for sure but there's one thing that you need to always
05:54hold on to and that's a togetherness and understanding a real rational thinking and a constant belief that
06:00you keep improving and you stand up to them challenges and I've got a group here what I know will do that
