00:01Scrafty, do you want to kick us off?
00:05Yeah, really proud of the group, Matt.
00:09I think probably as an element, we were a little bit frustrated,
00:12missed a massive chance at the end there,
00:14maybe could have been a little bit different,
00:15but overall couldn't have asked much more from the group really.
00:22We probably let ourselves down the weekend with the result we had
00:25after coming off the back of a brilliant result away at Crystal Palace
00:28and the noise intensified at that moment.
00:32But again, the players have shown a real resilience again today,
00:37going to go down so early at a place like this
00:39and the level and quality we were playing against.
00:41We stayed in the game and grew stronger into the game,
00:45certainly in the first half, and then managed to get the equaliser.
00:48Like I said, probably a little bit frustrated back in
00:51that we couldn't manage to get the three points.
00:54Yeah, great confidence, yeah.
00:58Brilliant quality and I think a real set-play specialist, James,
01:04much more to his game than just that, of course.
01:07But when you want to deliver a ball, you know where it's going,
01:10and that's the key, absolute key.
01:13You can come up with all the set-play coaches
01:16and come up with all the best drills or the best blocks or the best runs,
01:21but fundamentally what you need is the ball to go in the area where you want it to go.
01:26And the two deliveries he's put in at that moment is pretty easy
01:30because you know if you make the runs and the ball's on the money like it is,
01:33then you've got a chance and that was proven there.
01:38Yeah, we have, and Matt honestly made that never be in question.
01:43As long as I sit in this chair, it will never be in question.
01:47It will never be in question in any of my teams, really.
01:49We've had a big challenge this year, of course we have,
01:52and at times we've fallen a little bit short in terms of levels or in terms of the quality.
01:57We've come into a big league and at times we've just fallen a little bit short on that.
02:02The one thing we have not fallen short on is the resilience that this group has shown tirelessly, tirelessly and
02:08tirelessly.
02:09This pressure has increased tenfold at times where it's come on top,
02:15and for such a young group they bounced back.
02:17Ten days ago, going away to Crystal Palace, every single person watching that game,
02:22there in the stadium, watching from afar, seeing it on a text message
02:26that Burnley have gone 2-0 down after 20 minutes.
02:29No one would have ever thought Burnley would have came back,
02:33and that's down to, we seem to be able to dust ourselves off,
02:37we keep fighting, we keep coming, and they get exactly the same today.
02:40So I'm immensely proud of the boys, and yeah, they deserve that.
02:48Yeah, he was struggling a little bit with a bit of his stomach,
02:52so decided that it was best to bring him off.
02:58Yeah, there's been some illness.
03:00Lesley as well, he missed training on Thursday due to it,
03:03so there's been a little bit of illness in the camp.
03:05Bash as well reported last night at the hotel that he was struggling.
03:09So yeah, there has been a little bit, but yeah, we got through that.
03:14Hi Scott, I'm sure you've spent Chelsea, obviously,
03:17but they dropped the most points at home, it seems, at many points.
03:21Was that something that you played on with the players,
03:24that you said there was a possibility to do something,
03:27if not before the game at half-time?
03:29Not really.
03:30Obviously, he studied Chelsea in terms of how we went about it today,
03:33and I did think, I thought overall today, in terms of the players executing the game plan,
03:41was spot on.
03:43Chelsea are really dominant through the middle of the pitch,
03:45they're always trying to get the Palmers and Fernandeses and play through the middle,
03:50and I thought we protected the middle really well,
03:52had to slow the game down in terms of slow their tempo down.
03:56But I thought what we was really good at today,
03:58which we wanted us to be, was aggressive in certain states,
04:00where we could lift from certain positions, and I thought we did that very well.
04:05But yeah, look, Chelsea are an unbelievable team,
04:08quality players and a very good team.
04:10We just, we did very well today and managed to get points.
04:16There's always a big question about when you go down to how you defend the league,
04:21or something for being a special attack.
04:22They ended up with five defenders, four of whom are normally centre-halves.
04:28Is that, is that an invitation to you as a manager?
04:32You would have attacked either way of us.
04:33Yeah.
04:34But how did, how did that change it for you, to the way they changed their shape and point there?
04:39You just, you're just, you're working at that moment, quickly working.
04:42I was, I was ready to make two subs before the sending off.
04:45And at that moment, you're just, you're trying to process and trying to stay in a sort of a calm
04:50state
04:50to see what, what the reaction is from Liam's side, really, because at that moment,
04:55they're always going to change.
04:56And then you're trying to react from that, really.
04:58And from their shape or from, from how they go about things, you can quickly work out,
05:03or hopefully you work out exactly what you need to do.
05:05We made changes.
05:06We, we, we, we changed our structure, went more aggressive, put Larson as a,
05:09as a fullback to bring more attackers onto the pitch, put Marcus Edwards inside the pitch,
05:14and, and went more two up front, served down the sides of them a little bit and stretch them.
05:18And so, yeah, but look, I think it's also fair to say when you're coming to a team like Chelsea,
05:23and we've seen it many times down to 10 men, that sometimes you never,
05:26you don't see the dominance of that, that they still stay in it, 10 men do.
05:30I thought our intent going down to 10 men was superb, really.
05:33I thought we took the game to them, was more aggressive in our positioning.
05:36And I think the subs helped with that as well.
05:38Did you actually change it?
05:39You were going to bring on Florentino, yeah.
05:43Why did you change it?
05:44Just in terms, at that moment, you know,
05:46Tino's probably more of a defensive-minded player,
05:50and just thought we needed to, we've got to get something out of this game.
05:53We're now in a position, us as a, as a team, where we need to,
05:56we need to get something out of the game.
05:57So it just changed it, really.
05:59It was going to bring Hannibal off, but at that moment, Hannibal's a ball player,
06:02can, can dribble, can take you up the pitch.
06:04And although he was, he was, he was tiring,
06:07and just felt that we needed to keep them players on the pitch,
06:09and just be more aggressive on the side.
06:11So that's, that's the plan.
06:13Okay, thanks, guys.
06:14Cheers, guys. Thank you.
