00:00It's a heartbreaking way to win the game.
00:13Yeah, I think that's really heartbreaking the way the game finishes for us.
00:18Two weeks on a row now that it's in the dying minutes,
00:22obviously two penalties that decide the game.
00:25We don't manage to get the result really.
00:29Yeah, pretty disappointing.
00:32How pleased and proud were you?
00:35Both pleased, proud, came into today's game with a plan,
00:41playing against an incredible team that over the course of the last two,
00:48three, four years have seen that.
00:51You can't open space against Liverpool, you open space, then they're deadly.
00:55They want space, they want you to speed up their attacks.
00:58And we came in with a plan today to not do that.
01:01And I think, well, for the majority of the game we did that very well.
01:05There were bits where we did speed up their attacks and there were problems.
01:09But I thought the players really produced the performance,
01:13was everything we've worked on this year, organised this week, organised, diligent.
01:18Yeah, I'm just gutted for them really.
01:21I'll be honest with you, that's what I'm gutted.
01:23Look, I'm 44 years of age, I've had some ups and downs.
01:27I've had some disappointment in professional sport and in life really.
01:30And I suppose it's these nuggets sometimes in life that, for the group,
01:35would have been a real powerful moment.
01:37But there was a lot to be proud of today.
01:41How hard is it, looking at the four games,
01:43so much to be happy with the competitive and the last two performances as well.
01:46The three defeats, it's so harsh, isn't it?
01:48It is harsh and that's this league.
01:51Listen, you can lose football games in this league and certainly the team we are,
01:56sometimes you can lose football matches.
01:58You want to see improvement, you want to see us be competitive.
02:02And I see every bit of that today and I've seen every bit of that
02:06over the last couple of performances, gone to Old Trafford away,
02:09in the dying minutes, conceded a penalty, Liverpool today.
02:13But yeah, we're competitive and that pleases me.
02:17Your thoughts on the penalty itself?
02:19Yeah, it's probably a penalty, but I've got no issues with Hannah.
02:26It's two yards away, three, four yards away.
02:30The ball's coming at 80 miles an hour.
02:32He's turned as he's turned.
02:33Obviously, a natural reaction is your arm does come out.
02:35If anyone wants to try to turn a little bit,
02:38the disappointment is maybe you could just front it up.
02:41I think probably the learning from it from us,
02:43or certainly from me as a coach,
02:45we probably need to train defenders to put their arms behind their back,
02:49which is brand new technique.
02:55I've never seen it in football,
02:57but I think you're probably going to have to see defenders
03:00with their arms behind their back.
03:02And we'll probably have to work something like that.
03:05Your thoughts on the red card as well for Leslie?
03:07I've not seen it, Matt, to be honest with you.
03:09It looked a little bit second yellow.
03:11I've probably got no complaints on that.
03:13It looked a bit like it looked that.
03:15So yeah, no complaints there.
03:17Can I have a plan on Florentino Luiz,
03:19Debbie for him?
03:20He looked like the player.
03:21Yeah, he did.
03:22He was brilliant when he came on.
03:23I was really pleased with Tino.
03:25I thought he was top when he came on.
03:27Experience.
03:28The guy that comes into the arena,
03:29you can see that he's been in and around it.
03:31He's got vast experience through.
03:33He helped us immensely,
03:34and I'm really looking forward to working with him.
03:36He just struggled.
03:39He came back from international duty
03:41with a bit of a sore heel.
03:44He trained yesterday,
03:46but was a bit uncomfortable with that,
03:48and it was probably just a little bit too early.
03:50I didn't want to risk that.
03:52Any more?
03:53No, thank you.
03:54Cheers, guys.
