00:00We've done this without the president actually ushering this deal over the finish line.
00:04There was some resistance on the Chinese side, but the fundamental thing that we wanted to
00:07accomplish is that we wanted to keep TikTok operating, but we also wanted to make sure
00:11that we protected Americans' data privacy as required by law, both because it's the
00:16right thing to do, but also because it's a legal requirement of the law that was passed
00:19last year by Congress.
00:20So we think that we were able to do that.
00:22Of course, we're going to keep on working at it, but this deal really does mean that
00:26Americans can use TikTok, but actually use it with more confidence than they had in
00:30the past because their data is going to be secure, and it's not going to be used as a
00:34propaganda weapon against our fellow citizens.
00:36We're very excited about it.
00:38We appreciate the cooperation of everybody involved, and it's a big day.
00:42And I think I can say that especially the young people, they really wanted this to happen.
00:47They did not want to have TikTok closed.
00:50And I got a little used to TikTok.
00:53I used it myself during the campaign, and it was very successful because you know how
00:57I did with the young voter.
