CRK Stable's Lee Searing joined us as this week's Gainesway Guest of the Week on the Writers' Room to discuss the impressive Grade I win by Baeza in the Pennsylvania Derby. Baeza's sire is none other than McKinzie, who stands at Gainesway Farm.

00:00Welcome in now, our Gainesway Guest of the Week. It's Lee Searing. What a tremendous weekend they had winning the Pennsylvania Derby with Baeza.

00:08You know, besides rooting hard, once he took the lead, I knew that he was a winner.

00:14Berrios knew that nobody's going to beat me today, and the horse was very strong.

00:20Evidenced by, I turned and said, this race is pretty fast. I said, I don't know what it is, but this race is pretty fast.

00:33And boy, does that tie in nicely. Guess who the sire of Baeza is?

00:37Yes, McKenzie. It was his second Grade 1 winner of the year, and his three Grade 1 winners so far,

00:43and five Grade 1 performers lead all of the second crop sires.

00:47That on-track success for offspring of McKenzie was evident in the sales ring this week.

00:53McKenzie yearlings were in demand. He sold a pair.

00:56A pair of $650,000 Colts and a pair of $625,000 Colts.
