00:00From an entertainment aspect, I would like to see the captains be able to play a little chess match because because it's random, you just wonder about, all right, how much how much is there as far as like how much weight do we put on this as far as the importance of captaincy?
00:18You know, if these guys can't really actually plan out who these guys are going to play, there's there's no strategic moves besides it's a it's a little bit of luck.
00:27You know, you just need your guys to play good and hope you're not, you know, hope your best guy isn't playing their best guy.
00:32And I don't know. Right. Yeah.
00:35Well, I mean, Graham had great thoughts on that and that your conversation with him of just like, why are we there?
00:42There have definitely been some captaincy failings in recent years, but the level at which I think we react to those and assign blame to the captain for those is like, well, they're not hitting the golf shots.
00:53Right. They're definitely a part of bringing the team together and strategizing.
00:56But like, that's really the biggest factor in this whole thing.
01:00So I, I, I will say, though, it just in terms of the lineup thing, kind of like you're saying, making it more strategic, increasing the value of the captaincy and the decision making there.
01:11That's the one thing I'd love to see them borrow from the President's Cup.
01:14You know, again, if we're starting this with talking about product, what's the most blockbuster match we want to see?
01:19That's just free content.
01:20Like, why can we not just sit down and do a draft?
01:23I mean, you could, you could do it on, on Thursday night, right?
01:28You know, the same way they're, they're announced their first pairings, but like, you know, kind of drafted back and forth.
01:32And then you could do it again on, on Saturday night for the full singles lineup, you know, and the rest would kind of go out during the day.
01:38But I mean, I think that would be phenomenal content to have, you know, Luke and Keegan and there's unveiling who, who's going to go against who.
01:46And, and, and if one of those matches is Scotty or, or Bryson against Rory, I think we'll all be very happy when it comes to Sunday in Bethpage.
01:54I'm just, I'm just ready to get the week, week going.
01:56We need to see these guys on the golf course.
01:59I saw that Bryson, it seemed like he was maybe one of the few guys on site at Bethpage.
02:05He looked like he was doing some work out there, getting ready.
02:09Meanwhile, I saw that the Europe team, they were actually out and about playing at Friars Head.
02:13I mean, I doubt they're going out and playing Shinny, but Friars seems like a pretty good place to go and kind of get ready.
02:20That's all that.
02:21Let's see.
02:22I think it was Shane, Rasmus, Rory, Hatton, and Rom playing a little wolf game.
02:29That's so good.
02:30And I think that actually speaks to where they're at mentally.
02:34You know, it's like, hey, we're not going to, we can play fall golf in Long Island or in New York area.
02:40We're going to go ahead and do that while we're here.
02:42Even if it means we're not spending those hours optimizing strategy and picking our lines off the tee of Bethpage.
02:49So I love that for them.
02:50And I think, I think they do feel, it seems to be more comfortable than any other away team entering a Ryder Cup.
02:57And they have reason to do this is basically the same team.
02:59So.
