00:00And the Guardians, give them credit.

00:02They never really quit on the season.

00:04You know, got rid of some pieces there at the trade deadline.

00:09One of the best closers in Major League Baseball has been suspended in a gambling probe,

00:15one of their starters also.

00:17And yet here they are with an opportunity at home to really put the nail in the Tigers'

00:24season.

00:24I can't believe it, but they got Scooble versus Williams today.

00:28Are the Guardians just going to keep rolling here?

00:32Scooble hadn't been great down the stretch here.

00:36I don't think so.

00:37I don't think so tonight anyway.

00:39That doesn't mean the Guardians aren't going to keep rolling, overtake the Tigers at some

00:43point in time.

00:44I just don't think tonight is the night.

00:46I think ultimately, you know, Tariq Scooble is a guy that obviously we expect to win the

00:51Cy Young Award by a pretty good margin over Garrett Crochet.

00:55So if you're going to do that, how about play like it?

00:57There's been inconsistency in Scooble's game.

01:00You know, last time out, the one run against the Guardians, these same Guardians that he's

01:04about to face over six frames.

01:05He was excellent.

01:07Game before in Miami gets roughed up.

01:09Before that, it's a shutout.

01:11Back-to-back seven-inning shutouts, as a matter of fact, against both the White Sox and the

01:16Royals in the AL Central.

01:19And so, you know, here it's just Scooble needs to be Scooble.

01:23This is a guy who has an ERA barely above two.

01:26Again, he's been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball, Joe, here, obviously.

01:31And your stopper needs to be your stopper.

01:34This is six straight losses.

01:35And, you know, say what you want about how well the Guardians have been playing.

01:40And they've been exceptional.

01:42I mean, they are a team that deserves to be in the postseason.

01:46But by the same token, it has been a monumental collapse out of the Detroit Tigers, really

01:52going back to the All-Star break.

01:54This has not all happened just in the last couple of weeks.

01:58This team has been really bad or very inconsistent and downright not good for a stretch of months

02:05at this point in time.

02:06So I like the minus 150.

02:10I know it's a lot of juice, but I like the minus 150 on Detroit to win this game tonight.

02:15And for, again, the Tigers' best pitcher to be their best pitcher and to just stop the bleeding,

02:21get the win, allow themselves to refocus a little bit.

02:24What happens after that, we'll see.

02:26You don't have anybody else in the rotation that rivals Scooble, obviously.

02:29But I like him to get the job done.
