00:48has been on the year cantillo i thought finished the year a bit stronger than cicconi did i was a

00:55little surprised but then i thought about it and i thought back to what you said peter about

01:00cantillo having postseason or having a bullpen experience and cicconi not necessarily having

01:05bullpen experience if it turns into an all hands on deck game two or game one cantillo could be around

01:12for two innings there so i came around on that idea but i do feel like cantillo is their third best

01:19starting pitching option arm how do you feel like cleveland's rotation shook out is this the right

01:25way to go about it with gavin bivy cicconi yeah it's interesting because i think for them the way

01:31they probably look at it is okay cantillo as you alluded to has the bullpen experience and you know

01:35if you start him then the tigers could stack their lineup a certain way whereas you start cicconi like

01:41you can then deploy cantillo in the exact spot of that lineup that you want and go you know lefty heavy

01:48make sure he sees carpenter make sure he sees green and and really maximize those six or eight or nine

01:55outs that you get there um so i think you're you are going to see the all hands on decks i think the

02:00hope is too that you're going to get a lot of length from byby and from gavin williams and i think those

02:06are the guys that are really elevating this this team here and in this situation and i think making it

02:12a little bit more viable to go short leash game three i think it couldn't be better timing given that

02:17gavin is throwing the ball as well as he has all year and you could argue maybe as well as he has in

02:21his career and byby is looking like the tanner byby that you know earned that extension over the last

02:27several starts so i think having those two guys where they're at now i i think really sets them up

02:33nicely gotcha looking at uh the reason that they probably put cicconi in there instead of joey cantillo

02:41is the tigers are the second best team in baseball this season against left-handed pitching

02:46wow 114 wrc plus which you'd never expect with carpenter and green being their two big boppers i know

02:52but then you look at some of the righties that they're able to deploy like when so perez

02:57andy abanez even justin henry malloy like even going deep down to the bench and then a lot of their

03:03righties in the lineup of heavy heavy splits where riley green and carrie carpenter those two

03:10are really helping them against righties but the majority of the lineup would prefer to face

03:17a left-handed starter so i understand why they go cicconi because at the same time i agree with you

03:23jack cantillo ended the season the strongest watching all of them pitch he has looked like the best

03:29pitcher but cicconi also ended the season pretty damn strong and when you look at the splits and

03:36with the guardians they can just mix and match in this bullpen like the tigers they're known for chaos

03:42the guardians have the best fielding independent pitching in the bullpen this season even over the

03:48san diego padres when you said this bullpen was historically bad three months ago that's unbelievable

03:53to me arm is just putting words in my mouth that aren't even real he's just putting words in my

04:21was last year casey mize was has just been wildly inconsistent all year and on the shelf the way

04:29the tigers win this game is you got to win the scoobal start you got to and then you have to hit your

04:37way to wins which is a really tough ask against tanner bybee against cicconi and then this bullpen

04:44that's going to be ready to go cleveland at home this series is a pick'em price hard not to lean cleveland
