00:00Celtic managed to come out
00:014-0 winners against Partick Thistle
00:03at Furhill in there
00:04last 8 clash in the Premier Sports Cup
00:07and it tees up a tie
00:09with Rangers in the semi-final
00:11stage for a chance to play
00:13Motherwell or St Mirren
00:15in December's showpiece final
00:17again you lose you were at
00:19Furhill for the Celtic
00:21game another day
00:22met with protests against the
00:25board there seemed to be
00:27sort of wee banners and sort of
00:30bits of paper against Michael Nicholson
00:31in particular who was on
00:33his phone as that was unveiled
00:35literally right in front of him
00:37the game took place
00:39just about 48 hours on from Celtic
00:42releasing their annual accounts
00:43in the year ending June 30th
00:46of this year, they went into the
00:48summer transfer window with 77
00:50million of
00:51cash assets
00:53if you want to add the 0.3 million
00:55at the end as well, they posted a
00:57total profit of 33.9
00:59million after tax
01:01revenue was up 15.2%
01:04to 143.6
01:06million and Peter Lawwell
01:07did say in those
01:09accounts as well that the first team
01:11wage bill had risen to the highest
01:13levels in the history of the club
01:15obviously there's been a lot of
01:17discussion about Celtics finances
01:19about lack of spending in the
01:21transfer market
01:22as we mentioned you were there
01:24Lewis, you were there
01:25against Kilmarnock as well, what was the
01:27sort of vibe from those protests
01:29to the protests you see on
01:31Sunday?
01:33I think the kind of general
01:34feeling is that these protests
01:36aren't going to go away anytime
01:37soon then to be honest
01:39you know I think this is going to
01:42kind of fester on the minds of
01:43Celtic supporters until the January
01:45window comes around in all
01:47honesty and obviously
01:49another protest at the weekend
01:52probably not as
01:54as big as the one perhaps
01:58at Kilmarnock
02:00obviously that was a kind of late
02:03entry protest wasn't it
02:04they didn't make their way to the
02:06seats until the 12th minute
02:07and were particularly vocal about
02:10certain individuals throughout
02:11throughout this one was just
02:13kind of
02:13took place
02:15before kick-off
02:18mugshots of
02:19Michael Nicholson
02:20and Peter Lawwell
02:22predominantly
02:22from the angle I
02:25grasped
02:25they were the kind of
02:26that the Celtic fans
02:29are really keen to
02:30see removed
02:31from their current position
02:33there was another protest
02:37in the second half
02:38wasn't there
02:38directed towards
02:39Peter Lawwell's failings
02:41particularly
02:41whilst he's been in post
02:43I think it was kind of a list
02:44of all the
02:45European games that Celtic
02:47have lost over the years
02:48to so-called lesser opposition
02:50so again
02:52I think this is kind of
02:54rankling
02:54with fans
02:55but for the time being
02:57and I don't see it going away
02:59any time soon
03:00to be honest
03:01I think
03:01don't get me wrong
03:03I think over time
03:04if results on the pitch
03:06do start to pick up
03:07then
03:07I think naturally
03:09you know
03:11we'll still have
03:12the Green Brigade
03:12and supporters
03:13chanting for
03:14you know
03:15the board
03:15to be sacked
03:16etc
03:17but I don't think
03:18there'll be
03:18kind of demonstrations
03:20if you like
03:20that are currently
03:21taking place
03:22at this moment in time
03:23obviously
03:25positive
03:26wasn't it
03:27from the financial
03:28standpoint
03:29to emerge from that
03:30with
03:32in profit
03:33once again
03:34obviously
03:34Michael Nicholson
03:36said in the statement
03:37they took full responsibility
03:38for their Champions League
03:40exit
03:40which was
03:42totally unacceptable
03:44early in the campaign
03:46and
03:47don't get me wrong
03:48I think
03:49whatever they say
03:50at this stage
03:51the majority of Celtic fans
03:53don't really care
03:55what they've got to say
03:56if you like
03:56nowadays
03:57I think
03:58you really feel
03:59it's time for change
04:00and the damage
04:01has already been done
04:02so
04:04time will tell
04:05I guess
04:05I can't see anything
04:06changing personally
04:07but
04:08as long as Celtic
04:10are continuing
04:10to be successful
04:11on the pitch
04:12but yeah
04:15no
04:15I don't
04:16I don't think
04:16that it'll disappear
04:17anytime soon
04:18these protests
04:19it certainly
04:21seems that way
04:22it's a busy week
04:23for Celtic
04:24they take on
04:25Red Star
04:26Belgrade
04:27in the Europa League
04:28this week
04:29before
04:30matters turn again
04:31to
04:32domestic scene
