Will Dundee's injury woes pave the way for an easy Celtic victory?

Martin Simpson and Ali Gordon look ahead to this weekend's Scottish Premiership matches, starting with Celtic's trip to Dundee. With potential absences of key players like Simon Murray and John McCracken for Dundee, the panel discusses whether Celtic's heavy favourite status is now unshakeable. They analyze Dundee's possible strategies and chances against a potentially vulnerable Celtic side.

The experts explore how Dundee can draw confidence from past performances, even without their star players. They assess the impact of the game's atmosphere and Celtic's recent form on the potential outcome.

00:05We're going to be looking ahead to this weekend's Scottish Premiership matches after the latest international break.
00:12Let's go kicking off in reverse order from what will be the last game of the weekend, Ali.
00:16That's Celtic's trip to Dundee.
00:20Celtic obviously already going into that as heavy favourites, you would expect, given Dundee's form this season as well.
00:25And then we've had the news today that Dundee could potentially be without starman Simon Murray and also first-choice goalkeeper John McCracken.
00:36So if you weren't already predicting a Celtic win in this one, I don't know.
00:39Does that just reaffirm what you were already thinking?
00:43I think 100%, yeah. Any chances they would have had would have been completely on Murray.
00:48He's the X Factor. He's a starman with McCracken as well.
00:52He's popped up with a few good saves in big games like that before.
00:55So it's going to be surely a relatively easy Celtic win, you would assume, especially after hearing that.
01:03This is probably the worst one. I was going to say the worst possible game for them.
01:06Second, maybe, to actually go into Parkhead or potentially go into Tynecastle, to be honest.
01:11But yeah, I mean, if Dundee are to get anything out of this one, I mean, how can you see it?
01:17What are they going to need to do?
01:19Well, as I said, without Murray, they'll struggle.
01:22But I mean, they've got to look back to their Ibrox performance.
01:25I know that they could maybe take a wee bit of confidence from that.
01:29But I think Celtic playing at Denz, it's going to be a different sort of different atmosphere.
01:36And I can't see anything.
01:38If they were to maybe get one on the counter, Celtic aren't.
01:42Even though they've nailed a result against Motherwell recently, they're not firing on all cylinders either.
01:47So they could try and take advantage of that in some way and unrest in the crowd, etc.
01:52But I just can't see it happening.
