00:00Transport Minister Lok Sufouk has warned that there will be no compromise with taxi touts at KLIA,
00:07saying such activities tarnish Malaysia's image.
00:10This follows the arrest of a driver at KLIA Terminal 2 yesterday
00:14after he allegedly charged a foreign tourist RM836 for a ride that was initially agreed at RM60.
00:22Lok said the car and its driver were detained following a covert operation at KLIA
00:27after he had instructed the road transport department to track down the vehicle.
00:32He said the car was immediately seized and an investigation paper has been opened for further action.
00:38In a viral video, a tourist claimed she was lured by a tout at KLIA Terminal 2
00:43while looking for a bus to her hotel in Kuala Lumpur on September 15.
00:48The tourist, who was traveling with a friend, said they were initially quoted RM60.
00:52However, upon reaching the hotel, the driver allegedly diverted them to a secluded area
00:58and demanded RM836.
