00:00I ask you about Joe Burrow, because Doc, I thought this was going to be a great season for the Cincinnati Bengals, and Joe Burrow was injured.
00:06And you guys did an incredible job. While the world is reporting three months, you're letting them know, eh, that's really optimistic.
00:15Give me an idea, though, Doc. Let's say Cincinnati makes the playoffs. January, good to go.
00:21Let's say they're in the Super Bowl. February, good to go. What's the full outlook here for this superstar?
00:27First of all, if the Bengals make it to the Super Bowl, win the AFC with Jake Browning, are you really going to make a switch at that point in time?
00:37I'm just saying, okay? I know it's Joe Burrow, so that's the first part of it.
00:42Let me tell you this. Two years ago, I was on SportsGrid saying Aaron Rodgers had a chance to return from the Achilles from the Jets.
00:50This was the day it happened, and right after it happened. And that didn't come true because the Jets didn't get there.
00:57But I was more confident on that than I am on Joe Burrow with the turf toe.
01:02The surgery, the bottom of the foot, it's a difficult deal here.
01:07And the only thing he has going in his favor is it's his front foot, so maybe it's not the push-off foot.
01:13But think of it. This is surgery to the bunion joint on your toe.
01:17And it's on the bottom of your toe where you push off. Everyone knows someone who's had a bunion surgery.
01:24Were they good to go at three months? No, they were not. And this is NFL football.
01:29Minimum three months is not inaccurate, but emphasis on minimum.
01:33Let's then take this game here today where it's Cincinnati and Minnesota.
01:37And the saving grace for Minnesota, Doc, when you go through the six score here, is Minnesota's pretty banged up.
01:45Minnesota doesn't have their starting quarterback. And J.J. McCarthy, it's Carson Wentz.
01:48I'm so fascinated. You always do a great job letting us know with the Delta, where it's not just the guys out.
01:54But, you know, what is a J.J. McCarthy versus Carson Wentz comparison for you guys in the room?
01:59Take us through this matchup.
02:01Well, from a football perspective, we prefer Jake Browning as the backup, who's completed over 70% of his passes when he's played.
02:09Meanwhile, Carson Wentz is new to the team. He got there not even a month ago, right before the start of the season.
02:15And it's all over the place that he's playing. He's starting his sixth for the six new teams.
02:21Six seasons, six new teams, six starts.
02:24Look, Jake Browning's been in Cincinnati basically that whole time.
02:28So there's continuity on that side there.
02:30Derrissaw is back, but he's sort of being forced into service because his backup is out as well as the center.
02:37Yes, Van Geekle back helps him some. Harrison Smith back.
02:41But by injuries, it's still Cincinnati that's favored.
02:45And really, maybe the under with the quarterbacks, but also Cincinnati has O-line issues as well.
