00:21I am in Beijing now, where on the evening of September 19, the Chinese President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with the United States President Donald Trump.
00:34The conversation focused on the bilateral relationship and other topics of common interest,
00:41highlighting the need for a constructive approach to the future of both relations, the Chinese and USA relationship.
00:52Xi, the President of China, remember the shared history of both countries during the Second World War
00:58and the importance of honoring collaboration in difficult times.
01:03He also emphasized the need for mutual respect, peacefully coexistence and beneficial cooperation.
01:12Trump, for his part, applauded China's military parade, marking the 18th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People War of Resistance
01:20against Japanese aggression and the word anti-fascist war.
01:26He expressed his desire to build a long-term positive relationship with China
01:31and stressed the importance of working together for world peace.
01:36The phone call came in the context of a trade tension between the United States and China.
01:43U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Benson and the Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Healy Feng
01:53held a meeting in Madrid last Sunday.
01:56This meeting, which marked the fourth round of negotiations between the both nations,
02:02arised after the impositions of tariffs by the United States on Chinese products,
02:09which led to a tariff war between these nations,
02:13reaching more than 145% of tariffs between both of them.
02:19Today, reduced to 30% on Chinese products and 10% on the products of the United States.
02:27During these discussions, both the importance of constructive dialogue and the need to find
02:33practical solutions to problems, such as the regulations of TikTok in the United States, were highlighted.
