00:00Welcome everyone. So today we are going to understand what is the value of this x over here.
00:06We have log 5 to the base x equals to 0.5. Now this is very very interesting.
00:12Lot of people think that okay the answer can be 10 because 5 upon 10 gets you 0.5.
00:18That is incorrect. The reason for that is we have a log situation over here.
00:23Okay. So your first very very important thing you need to remember is that see log of a to the base b is equals to c.
00:34So a equals to b raised to c. So I will say 5 equals to x raised to 0.5.
00:42Okay. And now what is 0.5 can be written as what? 0.5 can be written as 5 upon 10 which can be written as 1 by 2.
00:55So basically this is x raised to half and this is still 5.
00:59Now in order to find the value of x we will square both sides.
01:03So I can say 25 equals to x raised to half multiplied by 2.
01:12So this gets cancelled.
01:13So we can say therefore value of x is just 25.
01:18I hope this is very very clear to everyone.
01:22That is it for today. I will see you in the next video.
