00:00After watching the ending of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3,
00:03even though I was happy that Belly and Conrad ended up together,
00:06I was still shocked that the wedding was not shown.
00:09It felt a little disappointing for me, because Jenny Han removed the biggest moment.
00:14But at the end, we did get the Christmas flashback and Jenny's letter.
00:18At that time, it didn't really strike me,
00:20but later, when the movie announcement came, everything started to make sense.
00:25And with the movie announcement, I knew a lot of you would have the same question.
00:30What is it going to be about?
00:32And will we finally see the wedding of Belly and Conrad?
00:35We probably have answers for these questions in this video.
00:38And Jenny Han even gave us a small update about when it will be released,
00:42and also about the wedding, which we will be seeing too.
00:46So make sure to watch till the end to know all the details.
00:49When Jenny Han was asked if the movie will feature the wedding of Belly and Conrad,
00:53she said,
00:54I can say there's another big milestone for Belly, so we'll continue with that journey.
00:58If you had already read the third book, We'll Always Have Summer,
01:02you might understand what that milestone is.
01:04It is the wedding of Belly and Conrad.
01:07In the book, we only got to read a short four-page epilogue about them being married,
01:12but the movie will give us that moment in a bigger way.
01:15That is why the wedding was missing in the season three finale,
01:18because Jenny Han wanted to save it for something more special.
01:21Also, when speaking about the release date, Jenny Han said,
01:26it's still a little too soon to say.
01:28But she also shared that she has already finished a draft for the movie.
01:32Later, she told that the release date will not be next year.
01:35If we look at the past filming pattern of the previous seasons,
01:39every season took almost exactly one year to release after filming started.
01:43For example, season three filming began in May 2024 and was released exactly one year later.
01:50The same happened with the earlier seasons as well.
01:53Considering Jenny Han has already prepared the draft for the movie,
01:56I think the filming will begin around May 2026,
01:59and then we can expect the release around July 2027.
02:03So it looks like we will have to wait around two years for the movie.
02:07But before we get to the wedding,
02:08the movie can also cover the big moments from the books that were missed in the show.
02:12One of the biggest ones is the Valentine's Day flashback.
02:16In the book, this was a very important memory
02:18because it showed Belly and Conrad's relationship in a softer, sweeter way.
02:23Conrad actually gave Belly a silver heart locket for Valentine's Day.
02:27It was thoughtful and meaningful.
02:30Not flashy, but something deeply personal.
02:33Belly cherished it because it showed that Conrad was thinking about her in a real, serious way.
02:39This moment stands out in the books
02:40because Conrad often struggled to express his feelings directly,
02:44but on this day, he made the effort to show Belly how much she meant.
02:48This scene was never shown in the series,
02:50but the movie can bring it back as a memory.
02:53It can show Conrad's romantic side,
02:56his nervousness,
02:57and Belly realizing once again that Conrad always loved her
03:00even if he did not always say it out loud.
03:03Another moment missing from the show
03:04is more of the Christmas memories.
03:07In season three, we only got Christmas flashback with Belly in Paris,
03:10but in the books, Christmas was a special time that tied the families together.
03:14Belly and Conrad had memories of cousins during Christmas,
03:17and those scenes gave their story a warm, timeless feeling.
03:21In the movie, we could get more of these Christmas moments,
03:24maybe even Conrad and Belly planning their own Christmas as a married couple,
03:28or Belly remembering how Susanna loved Christmas
03:31and how happy she would have been to see them together.
03:33And of course, the biggest missing part is the marriage itself.
03:37In the book, the epilogue told us that Belly and Conrad got married,
03:40but it was very short.
03:42The series skipped it completely.
03:44This is the perfect chance for the movie to finally show the wedding in full detail.
03:49We will be able to see the proposal,
03:51maybe Conrad planning it quietly,
03:53and Belly being surprised but happy.
03:55Then the movie can show the planning,
03:58the families coming together,
03:59Taylor helping Belly with dresses,
04:01Stephen giving his emotional speech as the big brother,
04:04and Jeremiah standing there,
04:06showing that even though he once had feelings for Belly,
04:09now he has accepted everything and is there as family.
04:12The season three ending also gave hints of what we can see next.
04:15Belly and Conrad reunited in Paris,
04:18had their honest talk,
04:19and then drove back to cousins together.
04:21This shows that they are ready to start their future.
04:24The movie might start with Conrad living in San Francisco,
04:27where Stephen, Taylor, and Denise are also beginning new parts of their lives.
04:31We could see Stephen and Taylor working on their relationship,
04:34Denise finding her own path,
04:36and all of them staying close like a family.
04:39Most of all, the story could show Belly and Conrad in San Francisco,
04:43growing together in a more adult way.
04:45Later, like in the books,
04:47Conrad might move to California for medical school or a job,
04:50and Belly would go with him.
04:52This would show how they begin their married life together,
04:55and adjust to the new changes side by side.
04:58Jeremiah's role is also very important.
05:00Some fans worried that he might be left out,
05:02but the movie can show that he has moved on in a healthy way.
05:06Just like in the books,
05:07where Jeremiah has a date by his side at Belly and Conrad's wedding,
05:11we could see him with Denise as his date.
05:13That would be a beautiful sign of how things have changed.
05:15It would show that even though Jeremiah once had hopes for Belly,
05:19he has now found his own happiness while still fully supporting his brother.
05:23This balance is important,
05:25because the story was never only about Belly choosing between Conrad and Jeremiah.
05:29It was also about family and growing up.
05:32Having Jeremiah at the wedding with Denise by his side
05:35would give closure and peace to his journey.
05:38One of the most emotional parts the movie could include
05:41is Susanna's wedding letter to Belly.
05:43Just like in the books,
05:45even though Susanna is not there to see Belly marry Conrad,
05:48her words could make it feel like she is still part of their love story.
05:52Susanna had always dreamed of this day,
05:54and in her letter,
05:55she could tell Belly how proud she is,
05:58and how happy she feels,
05:59knowing Belly has chosen a love that will last forever.
06:02The wedding itself will be the heart of the movie.
06:05We will finally see the ceremony,
06:07the decorations,
06:08the vows,
06:09the first dance,
06:10and all the emotions that come with it.
06:12Belly walking down the aisle,
06:14knowing that after all the years of confusion,
06:17heartbreak,
06:17and choices,
06:19she is finally marrying the boy she always loved
06:21will be the perfect ending.
06:23Conrad standing there waiting for her,
06:25maybe with a smile we rarely see from him,
06:28will be the final proof that this is where the story was always meant to go.
06:32Their vows will probably mention Susanna,
06:34the beach house,
06:35the summers that brought them together,
06:36and the promise of many more summers in the future.
06:40By turning the wedding into a movie,
06:42Jenny Han can expand what was only four pages in the book into a full two-hour story.
06:47She can add flashbacks,
06:49moments of doubt,
06:50funny wedding planning chaos,
06:52touching speeches,
06:53and of course,
06:54the final happy ending.
06:55For those who were disappointed that the wedding was missing in the finale,
06:59the movie is going to more than make up for it.
07:02It will not just be a small scene,
07:04it will be the main story,
07:05giving us everything we wanted and more.
07:08Belly and Conrad's marriage will finally be shown in full,
07:11with all their friends and family around them,
07:14and with the feeling that this is forever.
07:16I know that some of you already have your own ideas about what the movie is going to be about,
07:21so don't forget to share those thoughts in the comments.
07:23I'd also love to hear what you think about the things we've talked about today.
07:27From the Valentine's flashback to the Christmas memories,
07:30Jeremiah's journey,
07:31and of course,
07:32Belly and Conrad's wedding.
07:34Do you think Jenny Han will give us all of that in the movie?
07:37And most importantly,
07:38are you ready to wait almost two years to finally see it happen on screen?
