00:00But let's come over to the match days of the weekend.
00:03Gotham FC versus San Diego Wave.
00:06Gotham FC was able to take home the three points, beating San Diego Wave 2-0.
00:11Esther Gonzalez, an icon of the league, opened the scoring just before halftime in the 45th minute,
00:17giving Gotham this lead.
00:18And after the break, Jaden Shaw, who is a much-publicized debut and transfer Gotham FC,
00:24came in and scored to double their lead in the game.
00:27I think that this really shows the importance of efficiency over dominance.
00:32You know, San Diego held the ball more.
00:34They had more shots.
00:35But at the end of the day, they were just not able to put it away.
00:38And finally, the game that we were all waiting for, Kansas City currents, British's Washington Spirit.
00:43This is first and second in their standings, and it ended in a 0-0 draw.
00:48I said last week that this was not going to be an easy game, and we saw it.
00:51Kansas City dominated the possession in the game.
00:54But Spirit's goalkeeper, Audrey Kinsbury, was able to hold it down in the back.
00:59Kansas City just hit their 50-point mark.
01:02And with that draw, Washington Spirit actually does remain undefeated in nine matches.
01:07And, you know, I think that if they can keep this consistently and push this momentum,
01:10it is going to give them great energy for the playoffs.
01:13But let's move in now to the games to watch you need to see this weekend.
01:17Orlando Pride versus North Carolina Courage.
01:19I mean, North Carolina is really trying to climb out of a rough patch they've been having,
01:24and Orlando is trying to lock off their playoff seedings.
01:27A win for North Carolina could give them momentum, and if Orlando wins,
01:30they could solidify a stronger mid-table spot that they have been really fighting to get.
01:35Now I think we need to focus on a big tournament happening, and it's Women's Champions League.
01:42Yes, absolutely.
01:43I am so excited to talk about Women's Champions League.
01:45You know, these teams are really trying to get out of the qualifying round and into that group stages with your big teams.
01:52Manchester United recently went to Norway and were stunned by Brand losing 1-0.
01:57And although United dominated possession, a topic that we see also in the NWSL,
02:02and created more chances, they just couldn't finish.
02:05And for Brand, it was a statement, a win at home.
02:08And United now have to, unfortunately, turn it around in a return leg at Old Trafford.
02:13Meanwhile, in Sweden, Atletico Madrid played BK Haken in a 1-1 draw.
02:18Atletico started strong, Lowney opened the scoring in the first half,
02:22and it looked like they were cruising an easy win for them.
02:25But Haken rallied late, grabbed the equalizer, and are now headed to Spain with everything on the line to play for.
02:32But let's talk about why do these matches matter?
02:34The winner of these ties go into the group stage, where the giants of this tournament are playing.
02:40Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern.
02:42For clubs like United and Atletico, failure to advance to this would be a major setback,
02:48both financially and in terms of credibility across all leagues.
02:52But what are the matches that you at home need to see?
02:55Make sure to look out to see if Manchester United can flip the script at home,
02:59or will Brand completely take the upset and move on to these group stages?
03:02And second, we have to ask ourselves, will Atletico Madrid steady themselves in Spain and take the win,
03:09or will Haken shock them and send them home?
03:12That's the question we're all asking, but we're just going to have to wait and see,
03:15and that's all the report that I have for today.
