Four Bullets Fired: Indian Techie Shot Dead In California

00:07The Santa Clara police claimed he was armed with knives and threatening his roommate following
00:10his kafal when officers intervened and opened fire at him.
00:13He was rushed to a hospital but later pronounced dead.
00:16His roommate who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment.
00:18The Indian techie has been identified as 29-year-old Mohamad Nizamuddin, a software professional
00:23from Mahabab Nagar district.
00:25His father said he learnt of his son's death only through a friend and was formally informed
00:28days later.
00:29In a letter to External Affairs Minister SJ Shankar, he pleaded for urgent assistance
00:33to bring his son's body back to India.
00:36Back home, the family is demanding answers.
00:38They highlight a LinkedIn post by Nizamuddin in which he alleged facing racial hatred, workplace
00:42discrimination, harassment and wage fraud in the US.
00:45He had even written, Enough is enough, white supremacy has to end.
00:49He also alleged poisoning, eviction and constant intimidation.
00:53The family has sought a thorough probe into the circumstances of the shooting and Nizamuddin's
00:56claim of racial harassment.
00:58Meanwhile, Santa Clara Police Chief Corey Morgan has defended the officers' actions, saying
01:02they prevented further harm and saved a life, with two knives reportedly recovered from the
01:07scene.
01:08Nizamuddin's mortal remains lying in Santa Clara hospital as diplomatic efforts are underway
01:12to bring the body home.
