00:00The Summer I Turn Pretty saga is finally over.
00:03Or, is it?
00:04Well, based on the final episode of season 3 that we just watched,
00:08one thing is for sure, the jury is still out.
00:10And yes, we still have a lot of unanswered questions.
00:13So, let's talk about it.
00:15Finally, Conrad is in Paris, to surprise Belly, of course.
00:18In the end, he is the one who is surprised though.
00:21Because Belly is doing fine.
00:23Yes, that lipstick is not her shade at all.
00:25But clearly, it makes her feel confident and happy.
00:28Like, this is the most confident we have ever seen Belly.
00:31So good for her.
00:33She is even somewhat annoyed to see Conrad there.
00:35It's not exactly the over-the-top welcoming that he was hoping for.
00:39That's for sure.
00:40He was hoping deep down that Belly would be over the moon to see him.
00:43And yet, she is truly trying to move on.
00:46Which means Conrad has no place for him in this life.
00:48Like, she doesn't even let him to her house.
00:51This man came all the way from America through a 10-plus hour flight.
00:55Perhaps he needs to freshen up a bit.
00:56Go to toilet or something, I don't know.
00:58Like, how can you not ask him if he needs anything?
01:01Anyway, still, Belly says she has time to show him around until her birthday party in
01:05the evening.
01:06And this is where the real fantasy begins.
01:09Because somehow, Belly manages to take Conrad to Champs-Élysées, the Louvre Museum, and
01:13Versailles all in one day.
01:15Like, are you kidding me?
01:16If you have ever been to Paris, you know that it takes basically an hour-long train ride
01:21to go to Versailles, which is in its own town that is outside of Paris.
01:24And that palace is huge.
01:26It takes at least two hours to go through the Louvre.
01:29And when you add Versailles on top, there is no way that your feet would feel remotely
01:32okay to take a single step more.
01:34Let alone having an entire birthday party.
01:37I know, they are young.
01:38But this is simply crazy to me.
01:40Before going to the party, Conrad finally gets the chance to get into Belly's lovely
01:44home.
01:44How did she get such a good home with that waitress income of hers in a crowded city like
01:48Paris is still unknown to me.
01:50But still, that's a nice home for sure.
01:52When Belly is getting ready, Conrad looks around and quickly realized that Belly has
01:56a brand new friend group and a potential new boyfriend.
02:00And when they go to the party, he also realizes that Belly is a completely different person
02:04here.
02:05She is a grown woman who wears red lipstick and smokes m****.
02:08Like, what happened to our lovely Belly?
02:10Well, she has grown up.
02:12That's for sure.
02:12In the dinner, we witness the stereotypical directness of the French people, as they do
02:16not even hesitate to bring up the most uncomfortable subjects ever.
02:19By basically questioning Conrad on his love for Belly.
02:23Personally, I found it comfortable to even watch.
02:25But Conrad and Belly seem to handle it quite well.
02:28There, we also learned that Belly left his Enrique Iglesias-esque boyfriend six weeks ago.
02:32Now they are just friends.
02:34This allows Conrad to get closer to Belly.
02:36There are clear sparks around them.
02:38But this time, it is not that childish love that is so innocent and lovely.
02:42Number.
02:43This time, they have the sexual chemistry and desire that is amplified by the bohemian and
02:47romantic atmosphere of Paris nights.
02:49Naturally, the night ends with them being intimate in the most romantic way possible.
02:54Like, I can't be the one who basically cried out loud when seeing them together like that,
02:58right?
02:58Unfortunately though, the night ends with Belly basically regretting this intimacy.
03:03She says Conrad that she has a life here, and she doesn't understand what was he expecting
03:07when coming here.
03:08She basically implies that they are not together as a couple, just because they had slept together.
03:12Which is fine.
03:13I get her.
03:15The part I don't get is, how can Belly expect to sleep with the person whom she has such
03:19a messy past with, right after he flew across the globe for her, and then expect him to
03:23feel basically nothing?
03:25Like, I also don't get completely what was Conrad expecting, but I also don't get what
03:29was Belly expecting when she was being with Conrad.
03:32She clearly did not learn anything about her past mistakes, and I am kind of mad about it.
03:36She never gives any of her romances a chance to develop slowly.
03:39I don't know about you guys, but all I see is a young woman jumping from one relationship
03:43to another without a second thought about anything.
03:46Which can be fine, but if two of the three people you have dated are brothers, then the
03:50problem starts.
03:51Like, yes, you have been away for a while, which is good, but you haven't been away that
03:56long to move from one romance with one brother to yet another romance with the other brother,
04:00even if that brother is Conrad, whom, as you know, I stan hard.
04:04Anyway, after she basically kicks Conrad out, she gets her own Bridget Jones enlightenment
04:08as she realizes she was in love with Conrad all along.
04:11So, she basically runs after him, gets on the train, and declares her love.
04:15And it is cute, okay?
04:17It is extremely cute.
04:18Like, I know I keep criticizing them, but I can't help it.
04:21I find these two very adorable together.
04:23And I am a sucker for these sex and the city or Bridget Jones type last minute meetings.
04:28So, no complaints there.
04:29Still, I can't help but feeling rushed into this conclusion.
04:32I mean, in the book, four months after Belly moves abroad, Conrad starts sending her letters.
04:37And after a while, she starts writing him back.
04:40And then, from that point on, they rebuild their relationship.
04:43I takes a few years for them to get married, meaning that they clearly take their time to
04:47fall in love again, and this time build a romance that is based on a solid ground.
04:51On the show, however, they basically jump into a new relationship only a few months after
04:56Belly was just about to marry Jeremiah.
04:57And now, she says she was always in love with Conrad.
05:01Girl, then what were you doing with Jeremiah for the past four years?
05:04Like, are you okay?
05:06And even more importantly, are you even serious?
05:09For her credit, she also acknowledges that she is the villain in this story.
05:12And even though I respect this self-reflection, I have to say that this ending shows me that
05:16she did not change her villain-esque tendencies at all.
05:20But I also have to applaud her for finally realizing that they have been going through all this
05:23shit because of Susanna.
05:24I mean, may her rest in peace, but, like, she basically messed up those children's minds
05:29completely by constantly saying that they will be together one day.
05:32And that's not okay.
05:33When all these happening, by the way, Jeremiah somehow started dating Stephen's colleague.
05:37Like, what?
05:38Why?
05:39How?
05:39When?
05:40I'm truly buffled.
05:41This girl's was just flirting with Stephen a couple of episodes ago.
05:45How come she became the love of Jeremiah?
05:47To me, it feels like a very last-minute decision to just to make us feel better for Jeremiah.
05:52And I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.
05:53And if Jeremiah genuinely feels okay about Conrad and Belly being together, and is ready
05:58fall for yet another girl already, shame on him too because it means he basically stole
06:03the lover of his brother all those years ago for no reason.
06:06And I hate that.
06:07Jesus, I am in my ranting mood today.
06:09But I doubt I am the only one who felt such complicated feelings for this final episode
06:13of the series.
06:14And now, all that is in mind is whether we will get a fourth season or not.
06:18The thing is, the book ends with the wedding of Conrad and Belly, where Belly reads Susanna's
06:23letter for her.
06:24And it is a great conclusion for the series.
06:26I don't know about you guys, but to me, this ending of the series felt so rushed.
06:30So, personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they would come up with not a fourth season
06:34per se.
06:35Perhaps.
06:35But a movie to end the story in a way that is more suitable to the books.
06:38Like, we didn't even get Jeremiah's reaction to Belly and Conrad's romance, or we don't
06:43know how their parents will respond at all.
06:45And all these lead me to believe that we will get an Amazon Prime movie special very soon,
06:50as the very last chapter that will conclude this story for good.
06:53Or perhaps, this is my wishful thinking, because things still feel very much incomplete to me.
06:58But, let me know what you think.
07:00In the case of such an announcement though, we can expect it to be out around August 2026.
