00:00A little bit of an update on the Chinese knife. I hated the sheath. The ferro rod is useless
00:21with a rounded spine. So I ordered a leather sheath for it. It is literally a perfect fit.
00:31Fits much nicer. Much nicer belt loop. Rides much better. Leather sheath. Game changer.
00:42Alright. This is a Hung Fu or something. It's a copy of a Benchmade whatever. But it is branded Hung Fu, thank goodness.
01:02It's one thing to copy something. It's another thing to try and BS everyone on the planet.
01:09Ok. It is a convex edge. And I've got to say that I don't like it. I already did a little bit of work on wood.
01:27I've also ground the spine to make it crispy. It's supposed to be a bushcrafty knife.
01:35If it doesn't have a crispy spine in my books it's not bushcrafty.
01:40A convex edge is not my speed. But that's about as good a convex edge as I can do.
01:48And this one is basically a flat grind until you get to the shiny bit there. And that's where the convex is.
01:57It's not very good. It wasn't very good on wood. The normal edge is better than this. Or this convex I should say.
02:09So after this test I'm probably going to grind a normal edge on that. I am not happy with convex at all. Don't like it.
02:19It works on the other one. But on this one I don't know. I just absolutely hated it on the wood. The other one was alright. This one's rubbish.
02:28So let's see what it does on the rope. It's mystery steel. I don't think it's any way or shape or form S90V. I don't think so.
02:38Probably CRMOV of some type. But let's see how it goes.
02:44Okay. Not super flash on the rope. I think that convex is a bit too small. It's such a small convex basically. It's a bit like a dull edge actually I think.
03:10You've got to have more convex. Longer. Like if the convex started another 3mm back it might be good. Maybe. Maybe. I don't know.
