Check out the heart-stopping moment this mountain climber managed to save himself from falling down a cliff face with a last second spike cracked into the ice.
Fenned Gregory, 19, was out climbing on Mount Feathertop, Victoria, Australia, when they were trying to navigate through a sheer snowy mountain face.
Shockingly, Fenned then lost their footing and began to slide down the mountain, falling through the snow.
In a moment of instinct, they managed to stop the fall by cracking their ice pick into the snow, saying they ‘nearly fell to their death’.
Fenned, from Victoria, Australia, said: “I am traversing a steep slope above a cliff in the mountains and I slip, nearly falling to my death.”
