00:00Hello everyone, in this video I will show you how to add a satellite image texture
00:04to a side topography model DTM in Rhino 3D. First, let's download a satellite image and
00:11a toposurface that perfectly match each other from topoexport.com. I choose the area I want
00:16and then I select both satellite image and the 3D model. I can check the information is correct,
00:23then I click download. Next, I open the file topoexport modeling in Rhino.
00:29I switch the default view to render mode which allows us to display textures.
00:36Then, in the command bar, I type textures. I click the plus button, choose bitmap texture,
00:45then select the satellite image that matches my toposurface and click open.
00:52The texture is now added to my palette and now I can drag it onto the toposurface. At this point,
00:58the image is projected onto the surface but it's not scaled correctly. To fix it, I select the 3D
01:06surface, then go to properties, texture, apply plano mapping. I select the entire toposurface in the 2D view.
01:16Press enter and that's it. The texture is now perfectly projected onto the ground. As you can see,
01:29the buildings are aligned and the texture follows the 3D terrain shape. Thanks a lot for watching this
01:38video. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more Rhino tutorials.
