00:00So what Judge Ryan did yesterday, in agreeing with our position, our ultimate position,
00:08and ending, for now, unless they keep appealing this, the meritless motion that the Menendez
00:14brothers filed, he basically said that the evidence alleged here is not so compelling
00:22that it would have produced a reasonable doubt in the mind of at least one juror.
00:30That is how deficient, how meritless, how baseless the evidence that has been presented by the
00:39Menendez brothers has been in this habeas motion.
00:43So Judge Ryan has put a full kibosh on the habeas motion here.
00:49So now we have the resentencing slash parole course has not resulted in the Menendez being
00:55released.
00:56The next parole hearing is scheduled for three years, although the parole board could
01:00advance it.
01:01We have the habeas petition now that has ended, the Menendez's could always appeal it if they
01:07so choose.
01:08And I trust that the appellate courts will reach the same result that Judge Ryan has reached
01:13here and find it utterly meritless.
01:16And then there's that clemency path that the Menendez's have always had in which the governor
01:21can grant them clemency if he so chooses any day he remains in office.
01:26Yes?
01:26Have you spoke to the extended family of the Menendez's since the ruling?
01:30I have not.
01:32Yes?
01:32Hi.
01:32So you said the governor at any time could give like clemency to the brothers so they
01:36could pretty much get out any time.
01:38Why do you think it's taking so long, even though the public wants this to happen?
01:43Curious.
01:44Well, whether the public wants it to happen or not, Governor Newsom has had this on his
01:50desk for a long time.
01:52Remember, he's been governor since 2019.
01:54At any point, any day he could wake up in the morning, sign a piece of paper, and the Menendez
02:00would be out that afternoon.
02:01He's chosen not to do so, but it's his choice for whatever reasons he wants to give for it.
