Apple Inc. Emphasizes Design Commitment Amidst High-Profile Exits

Apple emphasized its design focus during the iPhone 17 keynote after a wave of departures from its design team, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Since Jony Ive’s 2019 exit, several members of his team have left, some joining his LoveFrom studio while others pursued roles at different firms or launched ventures. The industrial design group is now largely composed of new members, led by Vice President Molly Anderson, with only a few senior figures from the Ive era remaining. Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams, who has overseen design since 2019, will retire at year’s end. Apple is pushing forward with new product launches, an overhaul of its operating systems, and the rollout of the new Liquid Glass design language, underscoring a renewed emphasis on innovation and design.
