00:00A day after Kyiv struck one of Russia's top oil refineries, Moscow launched several attacks
00:08across Ukraine, according to local media. Four firefighters that were tackling a blaze were
00:14injured and taken to the hospital after they were targeted by a Russian drone attack in the
00:19Chernihiv region. Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, at least 12 people were injured,
00:24one of whom is in critical condition when missiles struck an agricultural field.
00:28Another nine people were wounded in Kramatorks in the Donetsk region after Russia struck
00:34the city center with three guided bombs.
00:36The most effective sanctions, which are faster, are the fire on Russian oil companies,
00:45on their terminals, in the oil stations. They were relatively limited to the Russian oil
00:52range, and this is relatively limited to the war.
00:56A day prior, Ukraine struck one of Russia's largest oil facilities. Several media reported
01:02oil prices rose on Monday as a result of the attack. On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump
01:08had also called on NATO allies to stop purchasing Russian oil and claimed it weakened the alliance's
01:13negotiating position. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Israel's planned expanded
01:22operations in Gaza as well as the controversial strikes on Qatar as he spoke in a joint press
01:27conference with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Netanyahu repeated Israel's demands to secure an end to
01:35the war, the release of all hostages, and the destruction of Hamas. He also urged civilians living in the northern
01:42city to heed Israeli advice and follow evacuation orders to, quote, get out of harm's way.
01:48The Israeli premier accused Hamas of allegedly preventing civilians from leaving the city to use
01:54them as human shields. He also stated, without presenting evidence, that Hamas militants are
01:59shooting them in the legs to force them to stay in combat zones. The Israeli Prime Minister also defended his
02:06country's attacks in Qatar last week, which much of the international community slammed as illegal.
02:11Netanyahu asserted that it's enshrined within international law to protect yourself, even beyond
02:17your borders, to eliminate threats harbored in other countries.
02:21You don't have such sovereignty when you are effectively giving
02:27a base to terrorists and a place where they can ply their gruesome trade. So it's the right of every
02:35country under international law to defend itself beyond its borders against those who would kill
02:40their citizens, murder them en masse. He also criticized the wave of condemnation, stating that Israeli
02:47attacks in Europe in the 1970s did not generate, quote, a great cry of wrongdoing to these countries.
02:59UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned what he called dangerous comments made by Elon Musk at
03:04Saturday's anti-immigration rally in London. Musk addressed the crowd at the Unite the Kingdom
03:09demonstration organized by far-right campaigner Tommy Robinson. He told protesters, quote,
03:15violence is coming to you and you either fight back or you die. Police said 26 officers were injured,
03:23four seriously, as protesters tried to breach lines separating them from a smaller anti-racist
03:28counter-demonstration. Ed Davey, who leads the Liberal Democrats, the third largest party in
03:34parliament, urged Starmer and Conservative opposition leader Kemi Badenoch to join him in condemning
03:40Musk's attempt to sow discord and incite violence. This is not the first time Musk, a former ally of
03:47U.S. President Donald Trump, has supported far-right figures in Europe, including Robinson and the
03:53alternative for Germany party. British royals are set to receive U.S. President Donald Trump,
04:01who is visiting the United Kingdom this Tuesday for a historic second state visit. The visit will
04:08include a state banquet hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle and a bilateral meeting with
04:15Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Trump and First Lady Melania are expected to arrive on Tuesday evening
04:21and depart Thursday in what will see the U.K. deploy one of its biggest security operations.
04:29Their visit comes after an invitation was formally extended in February to Trump, with Starmer presenting
04:36a signed letter from King Charles. During the visit, Trump will inspect the Guard of Honor and pay a
04:43private visit to the grave of late Queen Elizabeth II, who received him during his first state visit in
04:50June 2019. While the U.S. leader will be wined and dined by the royal family, senior officials on both
04:57sides will be fleshing out matters on bilateral issues and cooperation behind the scenes. The U.S. and U.K.
05:04are expected to announce agreements on technology and civil nuclear energy.
05:13The final stage of the Spanish Vuelta cycling race was abandoned on Sunday after pro-Palestine
05:19demonstrations repeatedly interrupted proceedings. Protestors knocked down barricades and occupied
05:25the roads at several points across the course. Clashes erupted between protesters and the more
05:31than 1,500 police officers deployed to secure the event. The protest forced riders to disembark their
05:38bikes ahead of a mostly ceremonial ride into the capital, Madrid. Speaking at an event in Andalusia
05:44prior to the final stage taking place, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez weighed in on the
05:50matter and expressed his support for the protesters. The Spanish Premier was heard saying, quote,
05:56our admiration and respect should be with the people who mobilize for just causes like that of Palestine
06:01and Gaza. Protestors say they took to the streets to oppose the participation of an Israeli team at the
06:07event, while a genocide perpetrated by their government unfolds in Gaza. They demanded an immediate
06:14end to the assault on the enclave, which according to the latest figures, has claimed the lives of just
06:19under 65,000 people. Protestors are also demanding an increase in the flow of aid and medical supplies to
06:26the Strip to alleviate the horrid humanitarian crisis. The protests come as the Israeli army launched a
06:32fresh offensive on Gaza City, which seeks to occupy the city. Danish cyclist Jonas Wingegaard of the Jumbo
06:39Visma team, who was leading by over a minute, was crowned champion of the event.
06:50A decision on the 2040 climate targets will be delayed, diplomats have said. 27 environment
06:56ministers are set to meet in Brussels on Thursday, but according to EU officials, member states need
07:02more time to mull the issue. The European Commission is proposing a 90 percent reduction in CO2 emissions,
07:09but France is pushing for the decision to be taken in October by the heads of state and government.
07:15However, several experts warn for the consequences of delaying the decision.
07:20Certainly we see that for now France is in a camp with a lot of Eurosceptic governments,
07:25notably Hungary and Slovakia, that just use indeed the European Council and the unanimity to blackmail on
07:32their demands. And some of the demands might go beyond the climate debate even. It could then go into the
07:38rule of law, it could go into more money that they need, and then it becomes really a dangerous game.
07:45On paper, adoption by the 27 ministers should be straightforward, requiring only a qualified
07:51majority. Germany and the Netherlands back the objective, while France, Italy and several
07:56central European countries remain more cautious. However, this is not just a political matter,
08:02but also an industrial one, as companies urgently need a clear and predictable path forward.
08:08What we need to do is agree the direction and decide how we are going to get there. What are
08:13the right policies to do that? How can we really drive the acceleration and the scale-up of the
08:18technologies that we need? At this point it shouldn't be a fight over the targets, it should be a real
08:23discussion on what are the right enabling policies to unlock the investment that Europe needs. And
08:28fundamentally, this is a conversation about investment. The EU's credibility as a global
08:35leader in climate action is on the line. Any delay on European level would send a concerning
08:40signal to international partners ahead of COP30, set to take place in Brazil in November.
08:53So, change the society and the way of living and the way of working. On the other hand,
09:08sustainability is one of the main issues. We are also proven in tests that you can transport on
09:16very low energy consumption. And on the other hand, implementation of a Hyperloop, as you probably know,
09:24it's much more easier to build a Hyperloop system, spatial-wise, in a crowded environment than you do,
09:33for example, high speed rail or highways.
09:46We are also shifting our attention a little bit from the more fundamental questions to the more
10:03commercial questions, really making sure that those technologies are not just fit for technical
10:09feasibility, but they also become optimized for commercial feasibility and certified products that
10:15we can really travel in, you and I, as real passengers. That's the next plan.
10:31The 15-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest male actor to win an Emmy Award for his performance
10:50in Adolescence, a show that brought home a total of eight Emmys. It was not the only record-winning
10:57moment at the 77th edition of the Emmy Awards on Sunday. The studio made Emmy history with its 13
11:03wins. The series came into the evening having won nine Emmys already during last weekend's creative
11:10arts ceremony. On Sunday night, it added four more, which all went to Seth Rogen.
11:16And the pit took the top drama prize, beating Severance, with Noah Weil claiming his first
11:22Emmy for lead actor. The evening also brought wins for Jean Smart, winning her fourth Emmy for Best Actress
11:30in a Comedy for Hacks and seventh Emmy overall, as well as Stephen Colbert, who took home an award for
11:37the first time for Best Talk Show.
