00:26least 10 people and injuring 55 others.
00:30Norway's Labour Party, led by Prime Minister Jonas Garstoré, has won a second term in the
00:36Scandinavian country's general election on Monday.
00:40The Labour Party scored a narrow but clear win, confirming the centre-left bloc's hold
00:45on power.
00:47The bloc, comprised of four parties, holds a majority of 89 seats, surpassing the 85-seat
00:52threshold.
00:54Together they beat the anti-immigration Progress Party, which saw a record surge in power with
00:59its best ever result.
01:01The election is expected to be followed by weeks of negotiations to build a coalition government.
01:08Storé has promised to retain Norway's wealth tax, which applies strict levies on the ultra-rich.
01:13The Progress Party, bolstered by a strong social media campaign, have argued that the tax should
01:19be scrapped.
01:24France is thrown into fresh political crisis this Monday.
01:27Prime Minister François Bayrou and his minority government have collapsed after losing a crucial
01:33confidence vote in the country's lower house of Parliament.
01:37Bayrou, who had been in office for less than a year, took the unprecedented step of calling
01:42the vote himself, betting that lawmakers would back his controversial plan to cut 44 billion
01:49euros in spending next year.
01:52Instead, he was handed a stinging defeat by an absolute majority of 364 votes out of a
01:59total of 558, forcing his resignation.
02:03At the heart of the political crisis are the country's fragile finances.
02:09Last year's deficit was nearly double the EU's accepted rules.
02:15That leaves French President Emmanuel Macron scrambling to find his fifth prime minister
02:20since the start of his second mandate in 2022.
02:24But outside the corridors of power, anger is growing.
02:28Pass-routes groups have already announced nationwide strikes this Wednesday.
02:34And France's main unions also have planned mass protests at the end of the month to protest
02:42against these budget cuts.
02:45Sophia Katzenkova reporting from Paris for Euronews.
02:52It's a signal that speaks volumes about Europe's intentions in the Arctic region.
02:58Last week, the European Commission proposed doubling its financial support for Greenland
03:02as part of the next European budget.
03:05This area around the North Pole has become a focal point of global commercial and geopolitical
03:10interests.
03:11The melting of the ice caused by global warming is reshuffling the political landscape and could
03:17bring Europe closer to Asia.
03:19Trade route in the north is much more convenient from Beijing to Rotterdam rather than the classic
03:24one that passes through the Malacca Strait and the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Aden, which
03:30is, of course, like 30 to 50 percent longer.
03:34It takes 14 to 20 days more than the Arctic route.
03:38But this route is not as open as it seems.
03:4153 percent of this northern sea route runs alongside Russia, which is seeking to extend its exclusive
03:47economic zone.
03:48Additionally, this region is home to the Russian northern fleet.
03:52Since the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine, tensions in the Arctic have escalated significantly.
03:58In order to defend its interests, the EU therefore cannot solely rely on member states in the region.
04:03Think about underwater infrastructure such as fiber optical cables.
04:09It's easy to understand why being present in the region is so important.
04:14And think about Greenland or other territories in the regions as platforms that make it possible
04:20to establish the so-called system of early warnings or even to deploy aerial, naval or even robotics units directly in the Arctic.
04:32The EU is seeking to strike a balance between commercial openness and strategic protection.
04:38But access to the Arctic's hydrocarbons is also at stake for the bloc.
04:42According to estimates, the region holds 13 percent of undiscovered oil reserves and 30 percent of gas reserves.
04:49In a development that appears to end the family drama that served as an inspiration for HBO's succession,
04:58Rupert Murdoch's family will have reached a deal on who will control the Media Mogul's empire after his death.
05:04Murdoch's media empire controls Fox News, the most popular network for U.S. President Donald Trump and fellow Republicans.
05:11The deal creates a trust establishing control of Fox Corporation for Lachlan Murdoch, Rupert's chosen heir.
05:17Alongside his sisters Grace and Chloe, Lachlan Murdoch's three older siblings gave up claims to controlling Fox in exchange for a stock reportedly valued at $33 billion.
05:27The three older siblings are known to not be as conservative as their father, with the court fighting kicking off when Rupert and Lachlan sought to change the terms of an established trust.
05:39The trust, which no longer applies, gave Rupert Murdoch's children equal say in his media holdings after his death.
05:46A freight train slammed into a double-decker bus at a crossing near Mexico City, killing at least 10 people and injuring 55 others.
05:59The incident is currently under investigation, but a video circulating on social media shows the bus in heavy traffic, slowly moving across the train tracks when the fast-moving train suddenly appeared out of frame, ramming the bus at its midpoint.
06:14It's very unfortunate, because wanting to win the train, they are lives. My sister, for example, survived.
06:23I answer, I say, well, Chaparrita told me, he had an accident, he robbed us the train. After that, I couldn't speak.
06:36According to a recent report from Mexico's Rail Transportation Regulating Agency, accidents at grade-level crossings are the most common and have been on an upward trend in recent years.
06:49The local report revealed that last year there were 800 accidents compared to 602 in 2020. The document did not include how many victims were involved in the accidents.
07:02South Korea will repatriate 300 of its citizens this week after they were detained in a massive immigration raid at the Hyundai plant in Georgia.
07:15U.S. immigration agents arrested 475 people at the site last week, most of whom were South Korean.
07:22U.S. officials said the arrested workers were suspected of living and working in the city.
07:41It is, however, unclear what type of visa those arrested had or whether any of them overstayed it.
08:00Over the weekend, Seoul and Washington reached an agreement over the repatriation of the detainees.
08:05The South Korean Foreign Ministry said it did not want its citizens to be deported but to leave the country voluntarily, meaning that they could potentially re-enter the U.S. at a later date.
08:17Which European country has the most reckless drivers?
08:22Latvia has been ranked as having the EU's most reckless drivers. The main reasons for this include high road fatality rates, which are at 75 per million every year and an alarmingly high phone usage while driving.
08:40That's according to a new study that analyzed six key metrics including road fatality rates, drunk driving, spitting on freeways, driving while sleepy, phone use while driving and not wearing a seatbelt.
08:53Austria is in second place with 22.1% of drivers admitting to driving after having consumed alcohol.
09:01Greece rounds out the top three with almost 28% of drivers not wearing seatbelts, the highest rate in the EU.
09:08Finnish drivers have also showed some concerning behaviors, with over 40% talking on handheld phones while driving, the highest in any of the countries in the study.
09:19In Luxembourg, nearly 4 in 10 drivers admit to driving after consuming alcohol.
09:25By contrast, Sweden has the lowest road fatality rate in Europe at just 22 deaths per million inhabitants, closely followed by the UK with 25 deaths per million,
09:35both significantly below the European average.
09:39Despite these results, the European Commission recently announced that 2024 saw a 3% drop in EU road fatalities compared to 2023.
09:49I don't know how to cook, just open the door, put it inside and then close the door.
10:05You see the camera here is the, this is the garlic buttercream.
10:09Just put here and one more button, start cooking.
10:13I speak Chinese, I speak English, I speak a little bit German but not much.
10:28And I cannot understand everybody, right?
10:30But with this glass, I will be able to talk to everybody, talk to also the local people, you know, for many, many different companies as well.
10:37Longvity and of course AI, sustainability are topics that are coming up more and more.
10:56world and that leads to the fact that we had to adapt these trends early in advance and that is
11:02also a change that we are more flexible in looking what will be important in the future
11:07and therefore our claim this year is imagine the future
11:21it must be a cultural moment an event that is visible in the whole city of berlin
11:26and not only during the show also during the whole year so there have to be spots that are focusing
11:33on this big event and therefore we are adding a lot of cultural things like the summer garden
11:39and big stages for diverse entertainment that is important for eva as well
