00:00Hello, it's a blusterous, boisterous Monday out there.
00:04Some gusty winds, particularly over England and Wales,
00:06where we have a Met Office yellow warning in place.
00:09And quite a wet day for some as well.
00:11Swirl on the cloud across the UK.
00:14A bit of a window out in the Atlantic.
00:17And then more weather systems waiting to come in later this week.
00:21But this is the main feature at the moment.
00:23Quite a deep area of low pressure.
00:25Just crossing out into the North Sea,
00:27leaving behind plenty of isobars and a strong and gusty wind.
00:31And you can see plenty of rain on the radar as well.
00:33We'll continue to feed that rain into northwest England,
00:36North Wales, southwest Scotland and northern Scotland for much of the day.
00:40Showers for Northern Ireland.
00:41Further south, there'll be some showers whizzing through on those gusty winds.
00:46Those winds likely to gust up to 45, 55 miles an hour,
00:49even inland higher than that around coast.
00:52So we do have a Met Office yellow warning in place.
00:54These kind of winds could bring down some branches as they're still in leaf.
00:58It could cause some travel disruption.
01:00So if you are on a journey through the rest of today,
01:02maybe just check the roads or the trains before you set off.
01:06The warning in place until 6 o'clock this evening.
01:10Now, the strongest winds are bringing a cool feel.
01:13With temperatures round or below average for the time of year,
01:16we might squeak up to 19, maybe even 20 Celsius across the southeast
01:21with the help of a bit of sunshine, but it doesn't feel all that warm with those gusty winds,
01:25particularly with these outbreaks of rain continuing to feed in.
01:28You can see feeding around the area of low pressure as it heads out into the North Sea.
01:32We'll continue with rain through the night, heading south across central Scotland,
01:36Northern Ireland, and further rain to come through northwest England and North Wales.
01:40In the south and east, the showers should fade and it will turn a bit drier over much of central
01:45and northern Scotland by the end of the night, allowing temperatures here,
01:48perhaps with a bit of shelter to dip down to single figures.
01:51But mostly we'll start tomorrow morning at double digits, 10 or 11 Celsius.
01:57And tomorrow won't be as lively.
01:58Overall, a calmer day and a brighter day for many too.
02:02Still this feed of cloud with some showers for the north coast of Northern Ireland,
02:06feeding into southwest Scotland, northwest England.
02:08There's some here having a bit of a wet day, but elsewhere, many places much drier than today,
02:13bar the odd shower, most places having a fine day generally.
02:17And the winds will be lighter, still a fairly brisk breeze blowing,
02:20but nothing like the gustiness of today.
02:24And with a bit of sunshine, temperatures getting up to a little bit higher than today's value,
02:28more widely into the high teens, perhaps again, maybe across East Anglia and the southeast,
02:33we might squeak up to 20 Celsius, but say feeling a bit warmer because those winds will be lighter.
02:38Don't get used to that, however, because the cloud already thickening by the end of Tuesday afternoon.
02:43Coming in from the southwest, another area of low pressure, another zone of wet weather.
02:48That'll make its presence felt in South Wales.
02:52Devon Cornwall through the evening, that rain eventually spreading up towards Northern Ireland.
02:56Also notice the winds also starting to pick up.
02:59So, yes, that is another area of low pressure.
03:02This one moving in as we go through Tuesday night and into Wednesday, bringing another bout of wet and windy weather.
03:09So we'll need to watch the rainfall as the totals continue to top up.
03:13Then we've got this wiggling, waving weather front, which always gives, as meteorologists, a few headaches.
03:18The position of that, tricky to pin down at this stage for the end of the week.
03:22But it is likely to bring further outbreaks of rain.
03:25For more on that and day-to-day breakdown of the rest of the week,
03:29you'll want to watch Aidan's full Week Ahead video.
03:33That'll be available on our YouTube channel by Monday afternoon.
