Sabah has called off the state-level Malaysia Day celebrations at Padang Merdeka on Tuesday (Sept 16) in view of the widespread crisis brought about by continuous rain affecting at least seven districts.

00:12Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said in a statement on Monday
00:17that the government had made decision in view of the widespread crisis
00:21brought about by continuous rain affecting at least seven districts.
00:26Hajiji said the government's immediate priority is to manage the crisis,
00:30coordinate recovery efforts, and carry out rescue operations to save communities.
00:36He said he had instructed the State Disaster Management Committee
00:39to remain on full alert and be prepared for prompt action.
00:43The National Disaster Management Agency said as of Monday noon,
00:47a total of 369 flood victims in Penampag and Beaufort evacuated to Temporary Relief Center.
00:56The Sabah Railway Department said its train services from Beaufort to Tenom
01:00have been suspended due to floods at the stations and railway tracks in certain parts of its network.
01:08It said the train service would be restored once its tracks were cleared of floodwaters
01:12and safety inspections were conducted.
01:15Sabah Electricity said they had deployed 27 mobile generator sets
