05:08millions of people experience on a regular basis.
05:12Painful skin conditions like moderate to severe eczema.
05:15eczema and that may make it difficult to find fashionable clothes that work for them so for
05:20this challenge sponsored by Lily you will be making a look for women and men who struggle
05:26with eczema and the design you're making is for a night out on the town and it should be
05:33comfortable and fashionable and it needs to produce a jaw-dropping reveal on the runway

06:51got this challenge because I actually also had eczema so like yeah well you're coming with like
06:55some inside knowledge then yeah yeah yeah eczema is an immune system disorder I actually have eczema
07:02too in my hands you know and I know how people can build insecurities when they have eczema what do
07:07you feel comfortable like with what you wear are you like allergic to any fabrics or you know if
07:12there's a flare-up that's like sometimes I'd be more conscious of something and I would just avoid
07:16like things that are really scratchy okay perfect you know what I mean well I'm gonna line it but it's not
07:19silk so you're comfortable brilliant like nothing but luxury okay yeah this is a tough challenge we
07:26have to make them feel comfortable but I also have to make him feel like a fashionista I want to make
07:31him feel cool so I'm thinking like really cool pants you know like a jacket and then like a really low
07:38v-shirt it's like a little effeminate for me are you seriously being for real but I also want to
07:44like work with you no no no and then we can play that would that wouldn't be like my first thought
07:48but I also want to take you out of your comfort zone and I want you to make a piece that you're
07:54gonna wear and be like wow that's hard to take me out of my comfort zone I know but that's gonna be
07:58my challenge okay right yeah we talked about the challenge but then all of a sudden like we started
08:03really getting closer and talking of like just life where do you want to get married Mexico for
08:08sure I properly speak Spanish and I know like a lot of Americans say this but oh my god then my
08:14husband are we on a date right now like you speak Spanish that's perfect oh my gosh my ex-boyfriend
08:20is gonna be so jealous hey Suze you need to focus bro come on concentrate concentrate
08:30I want to forget that eczema is a thing right I want to feel so pretty that like my skin is not
08:35even a concern so like show whatever you want because like the outfit is that good that's how I
08:40feel my whole mo with drag queens is creating a gaggy moment but I'm feeling a little daunted because I'm
08:49hoping I can bring my big crazy sensibilities to a real person what would you like to reveal can we show
08:57like show like yeah love those those work my favorite color is white a white is a really good
09:04base that can be revealed into something else so I think we have some fun ideas but okay I don't know
09:10if we have the one I don't have my vision quite yet I have a hundred different ideas in my head you
09:15know I need to decide on the right one the right vibe because I want to make Rachel feel like a boss

10:01lots of apprehension and anxiety I have to deliver for the challenge but at the same time I have to
10:10make my client happy because that's a part of the challenge so what can the reveal be if she
10:15doesn't like anything sparkly or bright so everything jewel is saying might send me home
10:21oh my god I'm so excited listen I've been in the top but I haven't won yet everybody here has won a
10:31challenge I haven't won I've been this close I'm like this is my challenge put in the universe
10:37yes I'm used to working with real clients it's definitely an advantage I need to learn about
10:46Stephanie her personality her sister's style how her skin condition affects her fashion choices where do
10:52you usually get like your breakouts so I usually get them like on my wrist um like in between right
11:00here I'm thinking about like something beaded with a pattern and like structure with the nice
11:05soft lining yeah I think for me it's just like as long as like you said the lining is nice soft yeah
11:12I'm single right now and I'm going on dates I'm thinking we should do an expensive fabric because
11:18you're expensive and you want an ex a boyfriend that can afford you amen to that I'm designing the
11:26cocktail beta dress with the princess line flare coat with sleeves with a cape I totally trust you I
11:34love your vibe so Jayden can you tell me more about your skin condition it flares up a lot when
11:39like I'm like hot or like sweaty like my face sometimes flares up I don't want that skin reaction
11:47or skin condition to affect your confidence because we're gonna make this work so what's your
11:52personal style like courtesos like this I wear all the time okay if you are going on a night out where
11:59do you usually go you know we like to dance a lot you know look for girls what's the color that you
12:06like to wear blue black or green okay perfect Jayden is a really cool guy and confidence is a very
12:13important power that someone should have an eczema sometimes takes away confidence from you so I am
12:21designing pants and a jacket with zipper details and also a quarter zip sweater I trust you yes we're
12:30gonna win we're gonna win this all right make sure you pick the right fabrication to make them feel
12:40comfortable confident sexy and a special reveal okay go my girl is getting laid in this dress I know I
12:49can nail this challenge and win but fabric choice is very tricky here I wanted to look expensive but I
12:56wanted to feel really good on my girl Stephanie's skin that green is pretty I have expensive taste right
13:02hmm I need like a sweater ish material I choose a soft wool for the sweater because it's a natural
13:12fabric and denim because it's 100 cotton so I know that it will not irritate Jayden's skin does he
13:21like a beaded tweed coat he's going to oh it's like a little effeminate for me hmm because Jared style is
13:30very simple I want to push him and make him look more fashionable and modern I find this really
13:36amazing tweed that has a little bit of sequin and it has like really amazing texture and I love the color
13:41I want to make Jared happy but this is also a design competition and it's the final five I have to make
13:48sure that I inject my DNA into this design where is the double-faced wool please okay I specifically
13:57am looking for a double-faced brushed wool because usually wool fabric fibers are poking your skin and
14:03making you itch but when it's brushed they're going horizontally against your skin and it's softer not
14:09mad at this can you pull this out a little bit so I can see it more jewel does not like prints but I
14:16find a nice plaid print choosing this fabric meets both of our needs she could wear it on the plaid or she
14:22wear it on the solid 20 minutes the reveal part is really important so I'm thinking crystal the beauty
14:31within there is a way you have to use it to make sure that doesn't irritate the skin so I'm considering
14:36that it's a risk but it's just so beautiful

15:46lame yeah that's a reveal fat yeah I feel like it's very important for my reveal to have a wow moment
15:53so my look is a reveal in a reveal it's a trench coat that opens up into a top that turns into a dress
16:01I am not effing around about the reveal I really want to prove to you that this tweet could go really
16:09like modern and grunge and cool I do have a little bit of inside knowledge of how certain fabrics can
16:14trigger flare-ups but I'm not too concerned because I'm planning on lining my coat with silk so I know
16:20that that's gonna feel really good against Jared's skin I will say like my mom does have a coat just
16:24like this like the whole reveal is gonna be when he takes the coat off I have this beautiful collar
16:33beaded collar beaded collar and then he has this beautiful LV my job I feel with this challenge is to
16:40like make make him feel comfortable make him feel comfortable okay you know and something cool and
16:43edgy thank you Antonio I want to do three reveals I like that you're whispering you don't want anybody
16:51to know I'm trying to be quiet because you know people there's top five that tries to my ideas
16:56so I'm doing a cape over this so she can take her hands out and the cape drops and then she has this
17:03dress and then takes out and then takes it off mid front way and then she has to beat it you should
17:08do it but you have to really do it and this has to be fabulous too yes of course oh lord you have so
17:14much to do I do have a lot of work to do oh my god my whole goal for this week is to win I'm coming
17:21from being on the top twice it's so close the reveal is a green sweater I saw this fabric and I'm like
17:33oh lord my uncle's Christmas sweater that he wore for 30 years I think that sweater is giving me
17:39nightmares I know well I need to make it a little more interesting because it's the review I can give
17:45them a crazy reveal 100% but my client is not outrageous my client is a young straight dude as long as my
17:55client likes it then I'm all good what are you doing I'm gonna do this little bustier top with all
18:02all these crystals we're gonna do this mesh beaded all on her skin oh and you picked hospital white
18:10this feels super mod and like not this this makes me really nervous it's like white cape with this bra
18:20I don't know I'm like why can't it reveal into a white mini dress yeah I'd have to do a hard pivot
18:29it's tough it's tough with the amount of time I know I'm annoyed changing it now is gonna be so
18:37difficult yeah it's overwhelming yeah I'm running out of time it's the final five and I cannot trip up
18:45now what are you thinking I think I have to do a hard pivot he doesn't like the two together at all
18:55he thinks the white's too sterile I got all the supplies to do the Rorschach take the black and
19:00incorporate it on you know what I mean I could paint the shit out of this follow your intuition and don't
19:06waste time I am pivoting to art and doing a Rorschach design where it takes the beauty of the patterns
19:15of eczema on the skin and turning it into an ink flop hello hello you're like my boyfriend
19:26how do you feel in this yeah I don't know about the silver and I probably wouldn't pair the dress
19:39with shorts so but I believe in her I want you to love it babe I am nervous about Jewel not being on
19:48board with the silver fabric so I'm highly concerned about myself this is your coat wow do you love it I
19:59I I don't it's not the colors I thought it was going to be it's not like anything else I have in my
20:08closet I can say that it's a bit effeminate we might need to like take it up a little bit yeah I'm also
20:14curious like what it would look like as like a mid dive I think that looks good there I'm getting
20:19annoyed because he's fighting me on a couple things that I have to do on the design but I know that it's
20:24going to look great at the end Jesus obviously you're not listening to what your client wants but I am not
20:31surprised I just don't think someone young and cool wants to wear this jacket right now like I would
20:38never buy that jacket or wear it all right and I'm young and cool your hardest clothes me I would wear

21:37yeah this is a graduation gown in white I decided to scrap this beautiful crystal fabric and now I'm
21:46really struggling it's really hard for me to keep bending to other people's whims it's a delicate balance
21:54of adapting my drag sensibilities while appeasing myself but also my client do you think I'm being
22:02tough law will go crazy no I'm not letting this happen okay we're not going to happen whatever
22:09changes this man is suggesting that's what we need to do because I will not get tore up under these
22:14bright lights you love the fabrics how they feel originally she wanted sleeves but if we can show

24:33didn't have this part in the bottom and it wasn't like totally bedazzled all the way through there's
24:37not much time and Jared has a lot of notes but it is a real client's challenge so I have to make sure he
24:43likes the look if not my ass is going home hi slick do your magic make her feel like a million bucks
24:52glam you're not going to unzip the things I'm getting nervous Vijay's look it's a beautifully
24:59constructed garment but no reveal you didn't do the challenge

25:10hello designers the final five crazy as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day
25:21you're out for this challenge you were asked to design a look for men and women who struggle
25:26with eczema not only should the outfit be comfortable and fashionable for a night out
25:31it needed to produce a jaw dropping reveal on the runway so let's meet the judges CFDA award-winning
25:39stylist and image architect Laura Roach one of my favorite designers out there Harris Reed
25:48oh my gosh gag everybody knows him for the iconic look he did for Demi Moore for the Megala so I'm
25:57really excited for him to be our guest judge and comedian and my twin Nikki Glaser oh my gosh thank
26:05you Nikki Glaser is hot right now she's killing it in the comedy world I'm like oh my god is she
26:11roast us on stage let's stop this show wow Stephanie feels confident she's killing it I am so happy she
26:26I feel like she feels good in that yeah she loves it I'm so proud of my client I love her so much I know she wants to win as much as I do the great little jazz her man is at the end of the runway take me out with you baby and I think this is my time to win can I pick that up
26:48seeing Jaden walk on that runway I feel so accomplished there's a balance of simplicity and intricacy and he looks expensive I met the jacket was really well made jacket yeah
27:11that was quite a reveal if you want the drama with that jacket off you know he looks so amazing that it's like oh I don't need that reveal because he actually looks like a celebrity walking in that runway where was the reveal isn't that the point of the challenge
27:34girl seems to be walking very fiercely the jacket looks absolutely amazing on her
27:50with that being said this look is a product of me trying to appease my client it's not feeling good it's not looking good
28:03is it a dress it would be a total pity if I went home off of this challenge because this look does not reflect who I am as a designer
28:16work I'm loving this beautiful cover-up and then pow it opens up into this beautiful ink blot motif
28:32making my own print was a really strong choice but I'm so glad I did that
28:37I like how confident she feels in that though you don't question that she loves it

28:54I think Jared is feeling very confident on the runway he's feeling himself he's feeling the look he feels fashionable
29:01I think the reveal went really well I see the appliques look really shiny on the runway I'm happy
29:09that's a little messy though that shirt it's giving magician however the judges they look confused now I'm
29:18starting to feel nervous maybe I should have listened to Jared more I could be in trouble

29:44I love it I really do I think what I wanted most of all was something that was so striking that like my skin was not in the conversation
29:52and so like I'm extremely happy
29:54love what did you think about this look?
29:56I think that you could have done a better job with the placement of her breast you know my thing I wish you would have snatched that waist in a little bit more
30:04but I loved it her reveal was an actual reveal because I thought I was like oh she's so demure you know and then she came out I was like oh she's a whore which I love

30:18you are confident my only thing is I kind of wish the pattern was on the outside of the cape as well I think it would have really kind of brought the whole thing home
30:25I love the design I love that it's an inkblot the Rorschach like what I'm getting from it is that my mom is apologizing to me

30:39for me this coat is beyond bad

30:43to me it looked like a lab coat when she had this on so I feel like it needed to be a little bit longer

32:20I think that this is a really well executed piece and leather is such a difficult thing to sew
32:24the jacket is tailored to perfection
32:26and then you know to have the panels of the leather in the pan makes everything more elevated

33:16it's definitely a piece that's different from everything else in my closet
