00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03Antonio, you're in.
00:05Casey, that means you're out.
00:07Ethan, as the winning designer,
00:09you're gonna have an opportunity to swap.
00:11I'm going to swap Jesus with Madeline.
00:16I'm happy Ethan let go Jesus
00:19because I don't need drama.
00:22Each house must create an activewear capsule collection.
00:25I'm gonna tear it up.
00:27But what if your team doesn't?
00:29Ethan, I think you knew that you had a great look
00:31and you didn't give a about the other people on the team.
00:34Jesus, you were our favorite look. Congratulations.
00:37You shut me up.
00:39But I do have to tell you, Antonio,
00:41yours was our least favorite in the winning team.
00:44It sucks.
00:45Angelou, you really need to bring in a sense of drama.
00:49Step it up.
00:50I think it kind of looks like a tampon.
00:53I mean, this is unwearable.
00:55I love a corset.
00:56At the sauna.
00:57Guys, the story has to match.
00:59You cannot piss on me and tell me it's raining.
01:04A state for the winner is $200,000,
01:07a spread in Elle magazine,
01:09and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14Angelo, Alex, and Vijay, you're all disappointed this week.
01:27I know that my work is better than the both of them,
01:30so they need to go home first before me.
01:33Vijay, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
01:37Oh, my God. Thank you for the sanctions.
01:47Alex, your construction left a lot to be desired,
01:50and you missed the mark.
01:52I adore Angelo, but I have a lot more to offer.
01:56I don't want to go home.
01:58Angelo, in this competition, you have to remember that showmanship is just as important as craftsmanship.
02:08All I'm thinking is I need this for my daughter. I cannot go home this early.
02:13Alex, Angelo, one of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
02:23Angelo, you're in. You can leave the runway.
02:35Thank you, Gus.
02:37I'm sorry, Alex, that means you're out.
02:41Auf Wiedersehen.
02:43It was lovely to meet all of you.
02:45Good luck.
02:46Well, it's not fun to be the second person going home.
02:50That's for sure.
02:53No, I deserve it. I really do.
02:55It's not...
02:56No.
02:57It's not a good example of my work at all.
02:59Is it going to be like this each week?
03:01this shit.
03:02Yeah.
03:03off.
03:05You know, I don't disagree with the feedback that the judges had.
03:09This is an incredible, fun experience that I've been able to have.
03:13Alex! Alex! Alex!
03:16Wow.
03:18What's next is we're going to go home.
03:20We're going to have a sauna, and life will continue on.
03:29You guys ready to get pushed a little harder?
03:31Yeah.
03:32We're ready.
03:33I think until now, there really hasn't been any clear leaders in either challenge.
03:39So I think we're going to blow it up.
03:41Uh-oh.
03:42So Ethan and Jesus, for winning the first two challenges,
03:46each of you are going to become the leaders of your own house.
03:51Yes, sir.
03:53Versus.
03:54Ring it.
03:55Oh, my God.
03:56Ring it.
03:57Oh, my God.
03:58Another team challenge.
04:00I don't want to be on either team.
04:02I just can't wait to work by myself without thinking about other people.
04:08Ah.
04:09You'll be picking your team shortly, and choose wisely.
04:13I'm so excited.
04:15Good luck!
04:16See you soon!
04:18The tea is hot a.m.
04:21Yes!
04:22I always wanted to start my own house.
04:24This is insane.
04:26Such a twist.
04:27Honestly, I feel like it's going to be a tough competition because I know how talented Ethan
04:32is.
04:33Oh, the shape.
04:34It's going to be a battle.
04:35What is that?
04:36It's a group challenge.
04:37It's time to pay.
04:38Team, so things about to get spicy.
04:39I think I found my new bag.
04:40Hello, designers.
04:41I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
04:42Yes.
04:43Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered boring.
04:48So PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly or sewing the same stitch
04:51for hours.
04:52Actions that seem boring are not going to be the same.
04:55It's time to pay.
04:56It's time to pay.
04:57It's time to pay.
04:58Team, so things about to get spicy.
04:59I think I found my new bag.
05:00Hello, designers.
05:01I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
05:02Yes.
05:03Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered boring.
05:11So PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly or sewing the same stitch
05:16for hours.
05:17Actions that seem boring are essential to create brilliant results.
05:21So in these bags are basic fabrics and textiles.
05:25Seen on a bolt or a design table, they might be considered.
05:28But when slowly and thoughtfully designed and fabricated, something boring transforms
05:36into something beautiful.
05:37So the two houses will select from three mystery bags of boring to inspire brilliant looks on
05:43the runway.
05:44I'm going to try to keep all of the firecracker energy out of my group.
05:47We're going to flip a button to decide who picks first.
05:48Good luck.
05:49Ah!
05:50It's Ethan.
05:51Oh wow.
05:52All right.
05:53My first pick.
05:55is Uche.
05:56Thank you baby.
05:57My first pick.
05:58Is Uche.
05:59Thank you baby.
06:00My first pick.
06:01is going to be Antonio.
06:02Of course.
06:03Hello.
06:04Hello.
06:05Hello.
06:06Ethan, you're next.
06:07Joseph McRae.
06:08Oh.
06:09Madeline.
06:10Madeline.
06:11Miss John.
06:12Miss John.
06:13Miss John.
06:14Miss John.
06:15Miss John.
06:16Oh.
06:17You're next.
06:18You're next.
06:19Joseph McRae.
06:20Oh.
06:21I am shocked.
06:22Jesus McRae.
06:23I am shocked.
06:24I am shocked.
06:25Because we don't really get along.
06:27Oh my god Lord.
06:29Oh.
06:30Makebabies.
06:31My first pick.
06:32Oh my gosh.
06:33My age is coming.
06:34Yeah.
06:35You're next.
06:36And then, Tyler.
06:38Oh my gosh.
06:39Yeah.
06:40Yeah.
06:41Yeah.
06:42Yeah.
06:45Yeah.
06:46Wow.
06:47Wow.
06:48My first pick is going to be Antonio.
06:49Of course.
06:50Hello.
06:51Ethan.
06:52Ethan, you're next.
06:53Lord, Angelo. Thank you. Baby. I've always been picked last. Melania. But it's fueling me to show
07:07I'm actually the special sauce. I got all the skills. You just don't know yet. Because Ethan
07:13got to pick first. It's only fair if Jesus picks first the bag of lorings. I was born with a pack
07:21of two. So I'm gonna pick two. Okay. Let's see. Oh. This is your fabric. Fun. What do you think? I like it.
07:34It's a gray wool. We can make this fabric look really expensive. They can have it all day every
07:40day. That's ugly. There's barely any stretch on it. Keep it. We don't want it on this side.
07:46All right, Ethan. I'm gonna choose number one. Okay. Let's see. Please be better. Please be better.
07:52Please be better. Looks like... Denim. Denim. Denim. Yeah. All right. Denim is so versatile. It is
08:00classic. It can be modern. We got the best material. So now that you have the foundations for this
08:06challenge, each house must create a capsule collection that shows that boring can be
08:11brilliant. This is about exploring volume, textures, making a bit of innovation. But anything
08:16here can be fresh, including a basic bag of boring. Hmm. And I have a special twist. My very dear
08:25friend Sofia Vergara will wear the winning look. So you guys better come up with something
08:33fabulous. Oh, she will never talk to me ever again. Oh, I can't wait. I want to win this
08:38challenge. I'm so ready. Last week, Heidi said that my look wasn't her favorite. I kind of want to
08:44redeem myself. We have Sofia Vergara, the princess of Colombia. This is Estrada, girl. This is what
08:50we love to dress. Let's do this. You guys will have until the end of tonight and three hours tomorrow
08:56to make these collections. Oh my God. Another one day challenge. Ah, this is Project Runway and it
09:03will never be easy. Good luck making boring. Brilliant. See you on the runway.
09:08Here we go.
09:14So I really wanted to have a name for the house. Okay. Catalina. Catalina is a very beautiful flower
09:21from Colombia. It comes from the family of the orchid. And considering Sofia Vergara is our guest
09:28judge, I was thinking playing with the structure to create volume and beautiful silhouettes, right?
09:36Do you know what a Catalina flower is? No, not really. But I can't get inspired if I don't know
09:41how it looks like. So yeah. Like this. And there's the orchids here. It's like this. Like that.
09:47This beautiful structure like this. I'm not like a girly, girly designer. I'm more like
09:54modern and edgy and sexy. So okay. How can I modernize it? What is the Catalina aspect of your
10:03outfit? I don't know. I'm just asking because this is the inspiration, right? So we have to
10:08defend like, well, it's good to say it. Yeah. Girl, I'm honestly getting a little annoyed because
10:15BJ is fighting me on the inspiration. Let's not forget that I'm the team leader. So just
10:20do what I say. Jesus has a very strong personality. And so do I. So I'm afraid that we will clash.
10:34House of Jesus. Are we all doing flowers?
10:36I think we should. Yeah. Yeah. I think because of structure. Yeah. BJ? I'm not sure yet.
10:44BJ, I don't want yours to look like complete. Like it doesn't belong in the collection.
10:49BJ is very quiet and doesn't really share what she's designing. You know, she's like a silent
10:54killer. Like all of a sudden you're like, whoa, where'd that look come from? At the end of the day,
10:58one look can ruin your win. I kind of want to know what you're doing. So then that way we can like,
11:03maybe you have a good technique that we, what we could use. You know what I mean? Okay. And share
11:08that with us. Yeah. Yes. We're going to help each other, but no, I'm not going to share everything
11:13that I have in my mind. You have to be creative on your own. Welcome to team Ethan. We have the
11:21house of Ethan or like, I like to call it. Oh, our overarching theme is showstoppers.
11:31Huh? Okay. I think that we should prioritize using fringe. Fringe.
11:47Do we want to take a couple of minutes and just draw? Yeah, let's draw it.
11:51I love this friction pen. And luckily they're erasable. It's a lifesaver right now. Okay.
12:00Ethan, so this is like the fringe idea concept. And then this is the ruffle. Yep. You have
12:06two really good ideas. We're going to dive into fringe. Okay. Yes. With the cool hat. Okay.
12:12You know, Ethan is the head of the house. So he kind of selects which design that he thinks
12:17each designer should do. We're going to do the flow with the swoopy swoopy. So I'm making a frayed
12:24denim gown with frayed accents and a frayed spiral headpiece. You have to do this half. Yeah. It could
12:32be really beautiful. That's not my favorite look of the ones I sketch, but I'm trying to be a team
12:39player. Hello. Wow. Are we feeling good? I don't see a lot done at all. We're just starting.
12:54I keep it fresh. So what are you doing? I wanted to do a powerful coat. This kind of like idea of the
13:02Catalina flower and moving it into the waist. Yeah. I mean, this coat, if this is it, has to be
13:08perfect. So everybody was doing kind of a dress bodice type of thing. And I said, let me step out
13:17and do pants that's tailored. This is so dynamic as a pant. I'm screaming. Honestly, I've never seen a
13:25pant more interesting in my entire career. I know how to rework a boring uniform into something cool
13:34since I have dyslexia. This is how my process works. Dyslexia switches the letters around. So I had to
13:40learn early to see disorganization or see confusion and make it make sense. So Christian, chill, baby.
13:48I got this. Okay. So on the collection, I'm going to go at the end. This is the finale moment. The finale
13:54moment. I'm designing a beautiful mermaid gown incorporating the Catalina flower. I want to be
13:59on top. I want Law to tell me what he told my brother. You shut me up. You've got to make sure
14:06that this silhouette is just really interesting. Noted. BJ, you're making a pencil dress again.
14:13What happens on our hips? They open? Yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So this is skin. Yes. Wow. Okay.
14:20I saw this fabric. I was thinking like Goldman's sleeve and then an open back here. It's very chic
14:28and classic. Yeah. But I don't think it's that exciting.
14:36I'm going to do this most sick high-waisted pant and it's going to have a window.
14:41How is this standing up? I am a master of boning. Yeah.
14:45Boning is understructure that helps garments have shape to make them larger than life.
14:53If you can master boning, you can make any garment submissive to your whim.
14:58It's my first time to use boning, to be honest.
15:02First time to use boning ever? Yep. Yep.
15:04Okay. This is my design. I was trying to make this dorm dress.
15:08So if it doesn't work, it's going down. I'm just saying.
15:12What are you making? I got the pencil skirt that's going to go underneath and I'm playing
15:17with this shape. Is this your vibe? Switching it out.
15:21I don't want you to take on something that you really don't do and isn't your aesthetic.
15:26Yep. I kind of agree with him, but at the same time, I wanted to stick to my ground and not
15:30create another pant. I feel like if I execute that, it's enough to make it to the next week.
15:36Okay, Joe. What is all that? Fringe?
15:40Oh, God.
15:44I just think that's just not that interesting.
15:47Mm-hmm.
15:47It's been done literally 100 million thousand times.
15:51From Britney to Steven Tyler to every Project Runway designer that's ever been in this competition
15:56has done a frayed edge denim dress.
15:58Oh, no.
16:01Does it feel good, Mr. Christian?
16:04What are we supposed to do? Like, take all of it off and put nothing on the runway?
16:07Like, I don't have time or the bandwidth to pivot.
16:11So you've got to make it the best fringed, seamed, edge thing you've ever seen.
16:16You have a lot to do.
16:18Good luck.
16:19I'm stuck. I'm stuck.
16:21All right. Battle of the houses. It's truly a battle.
16:24I still think a lot needs to happen before these collections become brilliant.
16:29Don't forget that all the boring things are right, like the hems and the zippers.
16:34All the details need to be perfect.
16:36The judges are going to be watching.
16:38Okay, get to work.
16:40Bye, everybody.
16:41Bye.
16:42Good night.
16:44Still standing by the fringe.
16:45So we have a battle.
16:49It's got to be interesting.
16:51Right.
16:53That did not go well at all.
16:56I am worried about the direction that we're going as a team.
17:00Showstoppers is not a theme.
17:03It's a vision, you know.
17:05And I just think this whole fringe thing was a last-ditch effort to try to make it make sense.
17:12I am really concerned about this challenge.
17:15I am really surprised about Ethan's choices.
17:38I think his goal is not to win the group challenge.
17:40I think his goal is to be the strongest.
17:42He loved my piece, so I'm in a good spot.
17:45But I want to make sure that y'all are in a good spot.
17:48Jesus, do you already know what the other team is working on?
17:52I don't know. I see a lot of volume and a lot of, like, you know.
17:55I am extremely worried for the house of Ethan.
17:59They are all over the place.
18:00I really don't understand what Ethan is creating.
18:04Ms. Jones is really confused.
18:06Yushin doing this dress that I know is going to be impossible for him to finish it on a one-day challenge.
18:13Villania.
18:15Yeah?
18:16This is a concept that I had in mind for us to all incorporate the rough-up.
18:20Like, look at the color.
18:21Look at the big.
18:22More circle.
18:22More circle.
18:23Yeah.
18:23That's a cascade.
18:24Yeah, I see.
18:26At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to interpret the Catalina flower.
18:29But now I see it.
18:31I'm liking what everyone is working on.
18:34And we're really making boring brilliant.
18:38Kristen!
18:39Hello.
18:40Who wants a model?
18:40You ready?
18:41What?
18:42I don't even have a dress to fit on her.
18:44Hello, ladies!
18:46I'm excited to work with you.
18:47Oh, me too.
18:48How are you?
18:49Sorry.
18:50I have nothing to fit on you right now.
18:52Wait.
18:53You have nothing to try on?
18:54Oh, no.
18:55What are you going to do?
18:57What if you cut this like you're going to, safety pin it down flat, and put it on her?
19:03Yeah.
19:03Right now.
19:04Okay.
19:04The clothes need a lot of, like, you know, handstitch.
19:07But Christian is saying, I have to put it on the model anyway.
19:13Getting the structure to do this, it's going to be a little bit tough.
19:17It's not working.
19:18I feel very frustrated.
19:20It's going to take a lot of finesse.
19:23The nightmare is happening.
19:25I have to completely start over.
19:28We'll whip out something easy and something that's in your wheelhouse that isn't so elaborate.
19:33I really don't know.
19:35I really don't know.
19:36Christian, either you listen to me and I make it easier for you, or you continue to struggle with your piece.
19:42Pick a lane.
19:43This is it?
19:44It's just a pencil skirt?
19:45No, no, no, no.
19:46This is the bottom.
19:47It's four layers.
19:48You didn't make that in denim yet?
19:50I can't make it in denim because it's going to be too heavy.
19:52The outer layer is going to be denim.
19:53What if you don't have time?
19:55Oh, Lord, Ethan, I'm worried.
19:58Yes, my team is struggle-bussing.
20:02You guys, really?
20:04We don't have a lot of clothes to fit.
20:07So really, this is going to be it?
20:10Multiple people are just not going to fit things?
20:12Ethan, your team has no clothes.
20:14Yuchen couldn't even get his off the mannequin.
20:16He has no bottom at all.
20:19And that's a pencil skirt.
20:20And if that's happening, then good luck.
20:22You might as well just say goodbye.
20:25I really believe that the other group should feel worried because Christian is actually panicking.
20:31It's crazy.
20:32We will see you on the runway.
20:38The showstopper aspect is my whole MO, and I am realizing in the thick of it that it's a real challenge for the team.
20:46Maybe it just was a bad decision.
20:51I just come up with something new, something fresh that you know that you can whip out that has that wow factor.
20:57AJ, he started again.
21:00I have six hours left.
21:03I have to make something else.
21:05I don't want to drag the team down because Ethan picked me first.
21:09I have to make it work.
21:10Show me what you're working with.
21:12Show me, show me.
21:15Wow, guys, it's runway day.
21:17It's runway day.
21:18Hey.
21:19Good morning, guys.
21:21She's a designer.
21:22Oh, my God.
21:25Oh, my God.
21:27She's a designer, a model, and a drag queen.
21:33Bitch.
21:35My team is struggling, and it's like Utica is all about light, uplift, and truly that showstopper energy.
21:41So, if there's anything that's going to get my team on track to be a showstopper, it's her.
21:48Woo!
21:48Yes!
21:49We thought you were the only models.
21:51Utica.
21:53Oh, my God.
21:55Perfect.
21:56I have to finish my top and my skirt and some hem off the cape.
22:01I'm so determined to finish my look.
22:03If I don't make this happen, I'll go home.
22:08Hello.
22:08Christian, meet Eureka.
22:10I see her.
22:12I wish that look was going on the runway, other than some of these other ones.
22:15Oh!
22:15No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
22:19All right, houses.
22:20It's the final stretch.
22:21Don't forget to send your models to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:25Hola, hola.
22:26Bring out her natural features.
22:27I love the makeup.
22:28It's really chic.
22:29That is everything.
22:30I'm so excited.
22:31You deliver.
22:34I'm just going to have to open up one of these darts.
22:36No.
22:36Let's do it tight.
22:38It looks snatched.
22:39Trust me.
22:39Being paid last, I was just like, my team is overly scrutinizing my look.
22:45But fit is important.
22:46And even though I'm not as confident as the other designers, I'm feeling good about tailoring
22:51stuff because I'm a tailored type of girl.
22:53I just need to clean everything up.
22:55I'm telling you, this is perfect.
22:57Do not change the zipper.
22:58Okay.
23:00What is this?
23:01I'm making a very sexy top and a very sexy skirt inside, like a doctor cat.
23:07So it's a whole new look.
23:08We're leaving this room in less than 10 minutes.
23:11So good.
23:13Yes.
23:13Oh my God, Jesus.
23:15Yes.
23:16So I'm a little worried.
23:18Their collection is very good and very strong and very done.
23:21I'm definitely stressing.
23:23Law is going to cut you up.
23:26Oh, Lord.
23:33Hello.
23:34Hi, how's this?
23:36And welcome to the runway.
23:38As you know, in fashion, one day you're in.
23:40And the next day, you're out.
23:43Each house was asked to create a capsule collection, transforming something boring into something
23:48brilliant.
23:49Oh my God.
23:50I hope it is brilliant.
23:51We can't wait to see what you've made for the runway.
23:54All right, first, let's meet our judges.
23:56CFDA, award-winning stylist.
23:59And image architect, La Roche.
24:01Woo!
24:01Woo!
24:02Woo!
24:02Woo!
24:02Woo!
24:03Woo!
24:03Guest judge, co-founder of the fashion line, Favorite Daughter, Sarah Foster.
24:09Woo!
24:10Hi, Sarah.
24:11And actress, model, and icon, Sophia Vergara.
24:15Woo!
24:15Woo!
24:17Woo!
24:17Woo!
24:17Woo!
24:18Woo!
24:18Woo!
24:19I love it.
24:20I missed you.
24:21Woo!
24:21Woo!
24:22Woo!
24:22Hi, guys.
24:23Hi.
24:24You guys look wonderful.
24:26Not only is she my dear friend, but she will be wearing the winning look to an upcoming
24:30event.
24:31This is so exciting.
24:31Thank you very much for being our guest, and I'm hoping that this is good.
24:36All right, let's start the show.
24:45This is the outfit I want my brand to be in the world of.
24:50I am kind of loving the material, though, even though it's boring.
24:54It looks like something that's from a different era, but it also looks like a little bit futuristic
24:59in a way.
25:09This is hot.
25:10If you have the legs for it, this is amazing.
25:12You have them.
25:13No, I don't.
25:13You do.
25:14No, you do.
25:14I am so ecstatic.
25:17Those cutouts are on fire.
25:19It's a dangerous dress.
25:21She's sexy, but very mysterious, and I really love it.
25:26Oh, my God.
25:33Get, get loud.
25:34Get, get, get loud.
25:36I took very basic wool to something extraordinary.
25:40Wow.
25:41I love it.
25:42To the people who always choose me last, my skills are delicious and top tier.
25:48We got that fire.
25:49We got this.
25:50When I finish a garment, it fits the body like a glove.
25:53I mean, that looks expensive.
25:54Get out like boom, boom, pow.
25:55Party going up right now.
25:57Get, get, get down.
25:58My look looks expensive.
26:00Well-tailored, well-made.
26:02It's so good.
26:02I think it looks really cool on the runway with the dramatic color, the ruffle coming down.
26:09Sofia is smiling.
26:10What an honor to see Sofia Regal.
26:13I can't stop looking at my design, and I feel like I've done it again.
26:21Woo!
26:23Seeing my full mermaid gown, I'm so proud of myself for really understanding this inspiration
26:29of the Catalina flower, and the structure of it made it so beautiful.
26:32And looking at Sofia Vergara's face, smiling, like saying, wow, espectacular.
26:40I can see you wearing that one.
26:42Yeah, like all of those.
26:43Never.
26:44I am so proud of my house.
26:47We made the collection that we were set up to design.
26:51Good luck, Ethan.
26:57This is a showstopper.
27:00It's grand.
27:00It has silhouette.
27:01It takes denim.
27:02It makes it fun.
27:03The window works.
27:07I set out to create a grand moment, and I did that.
27:12How do you get inside the car?
27:14Well, you don't.
27:14I beat to my own drum.
27:18I do the unexpected.
27:20Wanted to be a team player.
27:22It has the frayed edges, almost like a little cape.
27:25That's just who I am as a designer.
27:28When I commit to something, I just go for it.
27:31My way, my way.
27:33Make a name.
27:34Do it right.
27:34I don't know what to think.
27:36There's a lot going on on this one.
27:44I'm really proud of my denim jacket.
27:46The overall look, the fit came out really good.
27:48Look at me.
27:52Look at me.
27:53Look at me.
27:54Look at me.
27:55All you guys know is that I flaunt like this when I walk, walk.
27:58Oh, I love that.
27:59My idea of a showstopper is simplicity and volume.
28:02So I could see her taking it onto a red carpet to be like a cool but quirky girl but still
28:07like that it girl.
28:09Or she just sort of like a stroll down the street.
28:11But listen, come on now.
28:12It's a moment, baby.
28:14To do that with denim, that's not easy.
28:20Yes, girl.
28:22When she opened that cape, that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life.
28:27This look represents my resilience.
28:29It really shows how I can make something totally new in six hours.
28:34I'm going to see you on lots of room when you go to Coachella.
28:41Yes, Steve-a.
28:43As frantic as it was, our individuality was really shown.
28:47And we did the job of showstoppers.
28:49And the whole collection, I think that it's cool.
28:52But if the judges don't like it, I could be on the chopping block.
28:59Okay, we scored your designs.
29:04And one house was truly brilliant.
29:07The winning look will come from the winning house.
29:09While the eliminated designer will come from the losing house.
29:13House of Jesus.
29:17You were our...
29:19...favorite house!
29:22Wow, congrats, guys.
29:28Wow, wow, wow.
29:29It feels very empowering to be a leader and to have my house win.
29:34To be in the top three first week to one second week.
29:36And then now third week again.
29:40Good job, Jesus.
29:41Okay, house of Utica.
29:43We're going to talk to you later.
29:44You can leave the runway.
29:45No, uh, not the house of Ho being in the bottom.
29:50Damn.
29:51How could you put something this sickening in the bottom?
29:56Tell me, judges.
29:57Tell me.
29:58Wow.
29:59What a day.
30:02I'm not surprised we're in the bottom.
30:04I think we got carried away with Ethan's plan to create a showstopper piece.
30:09Definitely a little frustrating.
30:13Congratulations.
30:14I felt like you worked together.
30:16I was so impressed with the tailoring.
30:20So impressed.
30:21Spectacular.
30:22I mean, I could definitely wear many of those designs that you guys prepared this time.
30:27We want to talk to the three designers with our three favorite looks.
30:33Jesus.
30:34Wow.
30:37Antonio.
30:40And Polonia.
30:42Congrats.
30:43Woo!
30:43Congrats.
30:43So that means Madeline and DJ, you're safe.
30:48You can leave the runway.
30:49Thank you so much.
30:50Thank you so much.
30:54All right.
30:54Let's bring out your models.
30:58Hi.
30:59Oh, my God.
31:00This material is nothing boring at all.
31:04No.
31:04Amazing.
31:05It actually makes it elegant.
31:06The material makes it elegant.
31:08Expensive.
31:08Yeah.
31:08This is by far the best looks of the season so far.
31:12I can really see each and every one of you being a winner in this challenge.
31:17Yeah.
31:17Yeah.
31:17All right.
31:19Jesus, we're going to start with you first.
31:21Yes.
31:21I really am impressed.
31:23I mean, wool can go very wrong.
31:25That could look floppy, and it looks impeccable.
31:28Like a way that you tailored this coat.
31:32That was risky.
31:33I mean, I usually can't wear things that have so much volume over here, but I think I could
31:39because it's open, low.
31:41It's amazing.
31:41It's spectacular, and I think this could look beautiful in any woman.
31:45Gracias.
31:45You did a really good job at taking a fabric that's considered as boring, but I think is
31:52absolutely sophisticated.
31:53Thank you so much.
31:54And you shut me up twice.
31:56Wow.
31:57Two runways in a row, so congratulations.
32:00Thank you, Jesus.
32:01Another one of our favorite looks came from Bologna.
32:05Oof.
32:06This thing falling down her neck, I've never seen anything like it in my life.
32:11It's a lot, but it's not.
32:13I think it was perfect for this material.
32:16It was perfect for the color.
32:17It was perfect for me.
32:19It feels timeless.
32:23I can see a superstar or a model of every era wearing this suit.
32:28Truly, I see it.
32:28Oh, I would definitely put Zadaya in this.
32:30Oh, yes.
32:30Without a doubt.
32:31It's super sexy.
32:33She can show her shoulders.
32:34All the pretty parts of a woman is showing.
32:37Just, ah.
32:37It's the peplum.
32:38Just like, almost like this race.
32:40It was, and the peplum.
32:41There are no notes.
32:44This felt like something I had never saw before, and I've seen so many clothes.
32:50But this I will never forget.
32:52Ever.
32:53Please, you're going to make me cry right now.
32:55You should be very proud.
32:58So many long, long, long years, I was not seen, not recognized for my skills and abilities.
33:04So, getting praise for it feels really good.
33:07It definitely confirms and reaffirms why I'm here, and I feel seen.
33:14That leaves us with Antonio.
33:16It's gorgeous.
33:18I can also see Sofia wear this.
33:21Yeah.
33:21It's elegant.
33:22It's spectacular.
33:23Absolutely gorgeous.
33:24Thank you so much.
33:25But that being said, I just want to point out a couple things that I think could have made
33:29it a little better.
33:30Had you trimmed the petal that's coming down just a little bit, just to pull the snatch
33:36the waist in.
33:38All right.
33:38It's time to name the winner.
33:40The winning look truly wowed us by taking gray wool and bringing in structure, detail,
33:46and really a lot of elegance to bring brilliance out of boring.
33:52Oh, never boring.
33:53Well, Sofia, since you are going to be wearing the winning look, I'll give you the honor.
33:58I mean, I would wear all of them.
34:00But if I only had money for one, I would say Belania.
34:08Oh.
34:09Yay.
34:11No.
34:12Oh, my gosh.
34:14Well, congratulations, Belania.
34:17I'm shocked.
34:17Literally, I'm like.
34:19Oh.
34:19And Sofia Vergara is going to wear your look.
34:22Oh, yes.
34:24Work that body.
34:27House of Jesus, you can leave the runway.
34:29Bravo.
34:32Whoa.
34:32I've won a challenge on Project Runway.
34:40This part made me born like a baby.
34:42I was like, please, y'all, stop.
34:45Winning this challenge makes me feel like I'm getting closer to defining who I am as a designer.
34:50Finally, seeing a little bit of the vision in the light of what's been inside of me for so long.
34:57So, don't choose me last, y'all.
34:59Choose me first.
35:00And we can win together.
35:02All right.
35:03Let's talk to House of Ethan.
35:05Or should I say House of Utica?
35:09Yeah, I'm not surprised.
35:11I kind of had a feeling, you know, Ethan's leadership for this challenge was an epic fail.
35:17The direction that we were going as a team was all wrong.
35:22And here we are.
35:28All right.
35:29House of Utica, tell us about your collection.
35:33I come from the world of drag.
35:36So, I brought this idea to the team of creating showstoppers to create a moment, to create big silhouettes.
35:44And I think we did a darn tune good job getting that aha.
35:49I understand that you wanted to have the wow.
35:51You know, we also want to be wowed.
35:53But I feel like you didn't keep in mind Sophia.
35:56Sophia will wear the winning look.
35:58So, it's kind of like, don't you have that in the back of your head?
36:01Most importantly, we would like to bring out the three looks that we liked the least.
36:06Joseph, Eugene, you're safe.
36:14You can leave the runway.
36:15Thank you, guys.
36:19Which means Joan, Angelo, and Utica, unfortunately, you created our least favorite looks.
36:27All right, let's bring out your models.
36:28Okay, Angelo, let's talk about your design.
36:36There's just so much to look at.
36:38It's so busy in all the wrong places.
36:42I like the jacket.
36:43Does the jacket come off?
36:45Yeah.
36:46The jacket with the corset and the pants would have been very wearable.
36:51Turn around, please.
36:53Everything looks so crooked.
36:55No.
36:55Angelo, thank you.
36:58All right, Joan.
37:00It's a very confusing design.
37:03Those pieces of denim are not beautiful to look at.
37:06You don't even want to touch them.
37:08It looks shredded.
37:09It looks like something bad happened to it.
37:12I mean, no doubt she would get worse dressed than that.
37:15That does not look luxe.
37:17Well, you know, I'm an evening wear designer, and this was the assignment.
37:22This is the direction we were given as a team.
37:25You know, and I'm trying to be a team player.
37:26Direction from who?
37:27Your leader?
37:28Yes.
37:30We submitted sketches.
37:32This is what was selected for me to design.
37:35And now you're in the bottom because you let somebody push you away from what your aesthetic is.
37:39There is a lot of pressure to create a vibe and guide a team to victory.
37:46It doesn't feel great, but my leadership could be the weakest link.
37:51I just, I'm confused why you guys felt like you had to push as far as you did.
37:56We decided to create things that are quintessentially us, but we did not keep you in mind.
38:04Now, that's what I'm all about, these big, beautiful, like, awe-inspired moments.
38:07Which I love, but I feel like there is a time and a place.
38:11When I saw your look walk out, I was just like, the cervix is dilated and she's crowning.
38:16That is exactly what it is.
38:20That's what it is.
38:21It's true.
38:22I have a bottle opener at home that looks just like it for my beer.
38:26Blunk.
38:27Let's see the back, please.
38:29No, that's bad, too.
38:30Oh.
38:33I think you let the drag persona take over this week.
38:38And I think you should have held her back because this is too over the top.
38:42It doesn't make sense.
38:43It's not beautiful.
38:44It's not flattering.
38:45I am actually really disappointed in you.
38:48I'm in shock, actually, that it's you.
38:52It's difficult being up here, being knocked down by the judges and my team.
38:57It does not feel good.
38:59I am really pissed off about this collection.
39:02I did not come to work and get this beautiful glam to look at a bunch of ugly clothes.
39:07I'm sorry.
39:08I am pissed off.
39:09I'm mad.
39:11Oh.
39:13Sorry.
39:13Okay.
39:15Utica.
39:16Joan.
39:17Mm-hmm.
39:18Angelo.
39:19We have to discuss what we've heard.
39:21And sadly, one of you will be out.
39:23You can leave the runway.
39:27Gee.
39:27That's terrible.
39:29And it really pissed me off.
39:30It's like a Project Runway denim costume party.
39:33Yes.
39:33You know, it doesn't feel good being on the bottom because it wasn't me designing truly
39:41from who I am and my design aesthetic and now being, you know, criticized for that.
39:46They thought it was the ugliest thing they've ever seen in their lives.
39:50But it's okay.
39:51What I don't like is that Ethan thought too much about himself.
39:54Yeah, exactly.
39:55Yeah.
39:56Because our eyes popped out of our heads when we saw Utica standing next to this look.
40:01I'm sorry.
40:01Ethan should have been here and not Utica tonight, babe.
40:04Right.
40:04I thought Angelo was the worst, to be quite honest.
40:06There was no real construction.
40:08He made a great jacket because he makes menswear.
40:11But the jacket was just okay.
40:13He plays safe, so he didn't make it as crazy.
40:17And that's why we were more drawn to say this one is better.
40:20But it wasn't better.
40:21It wasn't better.
40:22He's been here before, so we have to take that into account.
40:26I'm on the bottom again.
40:27It sucks because I didn't get a chance yet to really go full force and show my best ability.
40:34I'm not ready to go home.
40:36What about Joan?
40:37Joan, that dress.
40:39Some less offensive.
40:40The less offensive out of the three.
40:41But no one would really wear that outfit.
40:44I am feeling very frustrated.
40:47My hands were tied.
40:48This is not what I wanted to do.
40:50I have so much more to show.
40:53I am not ready to go home.
40:54I'm just getting warmed up.
40:56For me, it boils down to, do we send home the person that took leadership in the bag collection?
41:05And made the worst look?
41:06Send home the person that had the least amount of point of view and sewing talent.
41:14If we didn't know who did this and the designer was not standing next to the look, who would go?
41:20I think they can all go.
41:24Same.
41:24This would be a first for Project Runway, but maybe it's time we do it.
41:28Next time on Project Runway, from Abbott Elementary, Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter, this is the unconventional materials challenge.
41:39A fight's breaking out.
41:41Fight, fight, fight.
41:41Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
41:43Okay, she's Barbie, but the pink bench done.
41:46I told you they're working together again.
41:48It's annoying.
41:49Oh my God.
41:50Popsicle dress.
41:51Oh, it's something.
41:53I mean, the whole booty is out.
41:56It just looks so sad.
41:57It looks like dead vegetation.
42:00This is so up.
