00:00In Mexico City, the death toll after the explosion of a gas tanker in the Ixtapalapa route on Wednesday has increased to 8, with 94 people injured.
00:10The latest update was shared by the head of government in the capital city, Clara Brugada, who reported that 4 injured had passed due to the severity of their wounds.
00:20Brugada also confirmed that 22 of the remaining affected are still in critical condition.
00:24Initial reports from the Prosecutor's Office state that the truck was carrying over 49,000 litres of gas when it overturned and exploded, impacted 28 nearby cars.
00:37In this context, authorities have stated in an investigation to clarify the causes of the accident.
