00:14here on God's Heart TV. This series of teachings is for all who desire. Freely

00:23we have received. Freely we give. We want to go through step by step what the Bible says

00:34about marriage. I want to talk about a very important topic. Since the beginning of the

00:43ministry, I've been privileged to speak with many people, people from different backgrounds,

00:51different circumstances, different stages of the Christian journey, different nations.

00:59And I have observed a common thread through many of these interactions. Something that

01:11is at the heart of many problems people face today. And it is very simply this. Relationship

01:22challenges. I would say to you today that for a large majority of people, our mismanagement

01:36of challenges in relationships is the cause of our self-inflicted troubles. Why? Because

01:51the devil knows if he can stir up division in the home, he can easily infiltrate the hearts.

02:02We are often most vulnerable in the place where we are most comfortable. Our home. Who you are

02:15at home is who you really are. Character starts at home. That's why the true test of character

02:26is our ability is our ability to resolve conflict. In the home, nothing can lie hidden for long.

02:39Pretense cannot withstand the pressures of marriage. Let me be specific. I will talk about marriage

02:49right now. If you pretend, you put up a display, you act a certain way, it will be exposed in your home.

03:03Pretense cannot withstand the pressures, the tensions, the temptations associated with the journey of marriage.

03:14marriage. I'm talking about this people of God because if we understand that marriage is a marathon,

03:26it's not a sprint. It's a marathon that is fueled by cooperation. It's not a sprint that is based on competition.

03:41No, it's a marathon. If we understand this, we will recognize that the foundation is the most important.

03:51If the foundation is not strong, what connects us in marriage will not last long.

04:01It takes spiritual roots to have lasting, rewarding fruits.

04:13And that is why God has put this in my heart to organize a series of teachings,
