Watch the terrifying moment a surfer is wiped out by a powerful wave and resurfaces surrounded by sharks in the Maldives.
The footage shows 33-year-old surf coach and yoga teacher Jacob Mellish from Edinburgh, UK calmly riding a wave before being thrown off balance and crashing into the water.
As he comes up, multiple sharks can be seen circling beneath him, leaving Jacob visibly panicked as he quickly tries to regain composure.
Posted on Instagram, One user commented: “I like how he was super chill when he realised.”
Another added: “Wow, that's amazing!"
