At the National Conservative Conference in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Border Czar Tom Homan spoke about being recruited by President Trump for his second administration.
00:00I appreciate the invite, so I'll speak briefly about updating on what's going on.
00:14First of all, today we have the most secure border in the history of this nation.
00:22So, you know, when President Trump called me to come back to this administration,
00:36I was actually out to dinner with my wife, and my phone rings, and she said,
00:41and my table is, it says, pulse, and my wife just says, oh, shit.
00:47And we had a conversation where President Trump said he wanted me to take care of three things.
00:52Secure the border, run the mass deportation operation, and find hundreds of thousands of innocent children.
01:01That was his instructions to me.
01:04So I have to tell you, we have the most secure border in the history of the nation.
01:08I don't take credit for it. I give credit to President Trump for signing the executive orders.

02:13But the men who win the Border Patrol for four years, I went down and I've made over a dozen trips down there to talk to the men who win the Border Patrol.

02:21I started my career as a Border Patrol agent.
02:25And I think I did with the Secretary Campbell Stitch.
02:27I was just there two weeks ago.
02:29It was a great trip.
02:30Kind of reminiscent of the Baton Rouge engine.
02:33Before he had cell phones, before he had computers.
02:36So it was remarkable.
02:37Remarkable talking to these agents.
02:39They've got a phone that does everything.
02:41Back then, we used to process a hand and a little bit of a hand charge.
02:45We had to press hard enough to go to four carbon copies.
02:49And now they're doing everything on cell phones.
02:51So they're spoiled.
02:52But they're doing a great job.
02:54So the most secure border even met in Trump 45.
02:57It gave immigration to 96%, which tells you one thing.
