00:19We just met the crime crackdown so far.
00:21How you've seen it go in the first 48 hours, if you will.
00:24And also, what are we looking at in terms of next steps?
00:27Look, I know they've taken some bad people off the street.
00:30But in addition to that, I think it sends a strong message of consequences.
00:35I mean, deterrence.
00:37I mean, a lot of the criminals are staying off the street
00:39because they know there's an increased presence of law enforcement.
00:44They're going to take zero tolerance.
00:46Zero tolerance on criminal activity in D.C., as the president said.
00:49So I think, too, it works both ways.
00:51Number one, taking bad guys off the street, actually arresting some folks.
00:55Second of all, the deterrence message is keeping people off the street from doing violent things
01:00because they know there's an uptick in law enforcement.
01:02Do you hear, though, that in Congress that after 30 days, hey, the authority is over,
01:07that these criminals that took themselves off the streets might come right back?
01:11The president's authority is never over.
01:13The president's going to do what he has to do to make this country safe again in every city in this nation.
01:19So he's going to make this country safe once.
