00:00Hi this is Zach with Lobby Boxer. My name is Andrew also in Lobby Boxer. We're on tour with
00:14Foxy Shazam and the number 12 Looks Like You and the Hot Fix Sideshow. It's insane. We're
00:19incredibly happy to be here and this is our van. Hey and that's Knuckles Butt. Yeah we try to split
00:26up driving pretty evenly. It's just whoever's feeling really good that day
00:32will kind of take it and then we'll try and not let them like overextend
00:35themselves and try and pass it off when it feels like it makes sense. It's pretty
00:40even honestly. I think we really try and like all pull the same amount of weight
00:45if we can. So we'll have like a God shift and maybe someone will drive all the way
00:49across Texas. Halfway across Texas. But you know we're pretty we're pretty
00:54reasonable about sharing the duties. Yeah. We try to do co-captains as best we
00:58can. Like we thankfully haven't had any like super killer drives in a minute so
01:02we usually have someone awake up front. Yeah if we're doing night drives we kind
01:06of a rule of thumb that co-captain has to be awake just to keep eyes on the road
01:10and make sure pilots not getting sleepy and all that stuff. We've never had any
01:14issues but it's just a good rule of thumb for us. We're soft people we like to
01:18play it safe. Yeah. We did have the uh we did have a deer clip our back left light
01:25in the middle of the night a couple tours ago. I was driving up here saw it about
01:31in video terms like two frames before it happened and there's like there was like
01:36a streak on the back corner window. It didn't do anything. It was terrifying. Yeah the deer hit us.
01:40Like it was on the side of the van. Going like 60 70 miles an hour. Yeah I was I
01:46remember I was in the back of the van I just heard
01:47That was me. Yeah that was me for sure screeching.
01:56It just sounded like someone slapped the window when the deer nose
01:59Our tour with the fall of Troy last year kind of coincided with
02:04Knuckles getting a show. Our hotel that night the concierge.
02:09He was a god. He told us do you hear Knuckles is getting a show
02:12and it just we were fixated on telling people. He was like so nice to us like
02:18uh just like being very cordial and then he like
02:22divulged the knowledge about Knuckles show and it became like a huge thing for
02:26us that tour. I think it was Indiana Lafayette Indiana
02:29there was like mystery Sonic uh stress balls and we were pulling
02:33you know how you pull Pokemon baseball cards
02:36so the first one was Sonic second try we got the Knuckles
02:39so there are kind of like third and fourth co-captains on us right here at all times
02:44and then yeah later on uh in a different tour we got this Knuckles uh from like a
02:50it was like a package like grab pack another sort of similar thing like what are you gonna get
02:54and uh we're like maybe we'll get tails uh but happy with Knuckles he's he's really rocking it there.
03:00Yeah. Max has been really obsessed with Yu Yu Hakusho right now and will take any chance he can get to
03:05watch it so this is the Yu Yu Hakusho cam and uh.
03:09Well I saw like I was driving and I kind of peek in the rear view mirror he's like hanging off the roof
03:14and it's shaking and then he's adjusting it again and I'm like what is he doing back there like
03:18trying to find the perfect place to clip his phone to watch stuff.
03:20Yeah we got this phone holder uh during like right before the Fall of Troy tour
03:25we I we we got the van detailed on the inside it's all like nice and clean
03:29but they like apply this stuff where you can't like stuff doesn't stick to it
03:33so we tried to get the suction cup one and it fell we tried to get the window one and it fell
03:36and the the cup holder one turned out to be like the most reliable solid van phone holder
03:43and it's like not in your field of vision while you're driving so I guess that's a bonus um yeah
03:47I just hate how it's my one complaint is the like time left is right there so I'm driving five hours
03:55left driving 450 I wish I could just like get the directions and not be thinking about the time
04:00that's my only only complaint yeah because I guess if you lock your phone it still shows up
04:05like yeah yeah so uh Apple Maps Google Maps if you're listening you know uh your customers
04:13really appreciate it if I don't want to perceive time look it's it's a simple toggle option like
04:19it's just we just like options yeah we need those for entertainment while we're driving it's a lot of
04:25music um it's a lot of music we really like and a lot of music that we don't like that we like to
04:30listen to for pleasure in making fun of it uh which I won't say what that is while we're I mean
04:35maybe we're gonna divulge a few things but I wouldn't even say it's don't like there's just
04:39music that is like like silly music that no one would like actually appreciate but we found like
04:44the little things about it that are actually kind of good and we became obsessed with it so like yeah
04:48there's like stuff like that in terms of music that we like me personally I'm a big hair metal guy so
04:54I have a playlist of all my favorite curated hair metal singles um and then I'm also a big like eight like
04:59prefab sprout this like uh new wave sophisticated pop band from the 80s their album langley park to
05:05mem from langley park to memphis is like my all-time favorite album it always gets played every tour
05:11um this tour I've been listening to a lot of seal human beings and I was listening to paul van dyke
05:16uh he has this album from the 2000s it's like a trance music progressive house music album that I've
05:22been really into that's me personally we're all very different we're all over the place I wouldn't say
05:26there's like a lot of podcasts I think the last few tours I still put on music but I've really
05:31enjoyed like some more silent driving at times you know like I don't know what it is about just having
05:36a more like relaxed state and sometimes maybe um here's a thing um jazz albums and dynamic music
05:45that's not compressed um we need the like compressed version for road trips when you're driving fast on
05:52the highway because I want to listen to this awesome jazz album and the engine is roaring and
05:58the wind is it's even something contemporary so I'm just riding the faders here and you know it's
06:02funny because there's speakers up here and there's speakers all the way in the back so you're like
06:06what sounds right and man I'm not really this is what I want to listen to but it sounds sounds kind
06:11of you know it's not ideal to listen to music in that way when it's very dynamic in a loud van
06:17we need the the van the van version with tooth yeah we need also we've been there could be a
06:23device a compressor yeah like get some like onboard gear here maybe there's like a rack mounted thing
06:29here and it just like compresses those old jazz records a limiter and maybe like a three band EQ
06:34so we could like I mean there's like the EQ in here but we only have bass and treble so you have to
06:39like either turn it up and turn down the bass and like boost treble a little bit or some weird vice
06:44versa thing we've gotten pretty good you kind of have to EQ on a song by song basis but I don't
06:50want to think I want to have my onboard jazz and dynamic music compressor right here and whoever
06:56can make that will buy one will be your flagship artist yeah DOD because you have the best enclosures
07:02hello welcome again welcome to Eugene Eugene land Eugene's bowels don't get blinded by the matching
07:15shoes too hard right now yeah I know mind the mind the J's mind the Tatum 3's we just happened to put
07:21on the same shoes when we walked out the door today and it was kind of embarrassing but we're just
07:26rolling with it okay so this row is kind of the social row yeah the social row so like you're gonna
07:37get a lot of the van like the the driver and co-pilot conversation you're in on the banter yeah in on the
07:44banter back row is kind of the island yeah it's where you go for more solitude so if you really need
07:50to zonk out that's where you go this is the spot you have prime like foot foot rest situation here
07:57always pillows cup holder right behind your head so you're like you can hit one of these just put it
08:04right back you know just normal stuff of course this is this is flexible uh today I wasn't feeling
08:11so good when I woke up so I got my pillow right here um I have a like an eye mask that's in my it's in
08:19my backpack that's inside I'm sorry I didn't prepare for that um you were rigged up and then
08:24and my blanket put a mask on let's see if get the wireless buds yeah oh here's my mask actually
08:36here we go yeah so mask on
08:38get the buds
08:42I'll see if I get a mask with my eyes closed stay safe this was when he was on on sick watch
08:50because he was he woke up and he was feeling a little scratchy and then he needed to take a
08:54a hospice nap here
08:55max two
08:59but he's feeling better now folks I am feeling better now folks
09:04buds in I can't see him
09:07I'm dead to the world
09:10it's a cool four hours
09:13yeah so I haven't actually drove yet on the run this is the what second day that we've been out
09:18um when I when I drive I tend to go for things with like a like kind of a steady beat like uh
09:26like world music um like Brazilian stuff like with the clave going that'll kind of keep me grounded
09:34and keep me from going off into la la land I'll listen to knee body there's this uh progressive
09:39jazz band
09:41um there's a guitar player from the netherlands I think named uh Tice Cime
09:47uh I don't know if I'm saying that right but he's a motherfucker I like this band
09:52knower also another like jazz fusion favorite
09:56um yeah just stuff that like kind of keeps me going and like just gives me a little
10:02I don't know
10:04like rhythmic stuff
10:06yeah
10:07uh for me usually when I'm driving like uh sometimes I'll be bad I'll throw in like one little
10:14pod and then I will sometimes listen to a podcast or like a video essay
10:18like my favorites are just like the rise and fall of the gamecube and like you know
10:23why Enron failed
10:25there's another one I'm like working my way through is like why did the blimpy franchise
10:28like the rise and fall of the blimpy sandwich franchise but like in the last like year or
10:33so I've gotten really back into like uh hardcore and slam and just like really loud stupid bullshit
10:39and I think on our last tour with uh fall of troy we were out for like 10 or 11 days
10:44and every shift I would listen to I would put on tortures enduring freedom
10:48um Chicago shout out
10:50um and it got to the point where we were just like listening to the album backwards
10:54because we were like I was like trying to superimpose tool lore onto this random slam band
11:01but um yeah so either noise or people talking about nothing is usually what I go for
11:08so and then the other thing about like we were saying this is kind of like the island
11:13this is where there's you know peace and solitude this is the en suite
11:15uh keep the drum rug here just because it stays clean that way it just kind of conveniently fits
11:21there's not really a reason that's just where it's been for years so we keep it there
11:25but yeah but back here is where we keep all of our luggage and stuff
11:28um usually when we're staying at a friend's house or like at a hotel
11:31uh and then this is a mattress pad that folds up that Zach got
11:35so we can in a if in a world where we have to sleep in the van we can just roll that out
11:39and we can like kind of lay down here uh and then two people on a bench
11:42you can just like scoot your feet under this bench
11:45so it's a nice like tight four person situation
11:48um and then yeah we just dump all this shit in the trailer for the night
11:52and then conk out
11:54yeah normally there's like snacks and stuff back here but like Jack said it's day two
11:59so we haven't accumulated that sort of stuff yet
12:02um but we will if you if you ever catch us at the end of a run this will be
12:06a graveyard of uh plastic bags
12:09once we go to Costco back here you'll give it five big booms
12:14i'm so sorry
12:16here comes our our pack marshal
12:19this thing
12:19it's a big box
12:22it's a five by eight
12:23um yeah i just
12:25i do the tetris because
12:28the thing we were talking about this so we've had a couple of u-hauls
12:31and if you if you've gotten them you know there's different types of doors
12:35and so there's these doors that like swing it's like barn doors where they open there's two of them
12:41there's also ones that pull down like a shutter like that
12:43we've had those before and those are awful because they get stuck and you have to like get your fingers up in there
12:49especially in the winter when it's like got snow and ice and shit
12:52it really gets jammed on the handle
12:53yeah because the handle because like these handles not just not to set anybody out
12:57but these handles if you don't latch it all the way over here and you like let it fall back down when the door goes up
13:03you're screwed it's staying up there until you like get all of the you know
13:09bullshit that's in there all over your hands it's the only way out of that situation
13:13and then it might hurt
13:15this is the fun part
13:16but yeah
13:17we love these doors
13:18these are our favorite doors
13:19yeah
13:20and we have like rolling carts now that we got that like extend and we can put all our stuff on
13:25so we don't have to like lug everything everywhere like one by one
13:28uh so we're saving a lot of time and energy that way but max is definitely our pack
13:33he institutes pack law
13:35yeah pack law it's you know it's a very stringent set of procedures and processes
13:39that uh shadow also this is shadow
13:43you know this pretty much encapsulates the energy of our band as a whole
13:47yeah we're working on a new album right now
13:49um we signed to kill iconic records uh founded by donovan malero of hail the sun
13:55um and we're about we're about to go on tour with the fall of troy
13:59uh if you well that might have already happened but we're doing it again
14:03uh
14:03pre
14:05uh and yeah we have a we have an album out that we put out uh this past year
14:12um and it was kind of the album that saved us as a band it's called head shoulders knuckles floor
14:17uh and it's just kind of uh where we uh were at at the time
14:21uh and we're very very happy to have put it out
14:25oh yeah
14:25and you should listen to it if you like rock and roll
14:27and uh
14:28and guitar solos
14:29yeah there's like more than one guitar solo on average per track
14:33so if you like that
14:34uh then you should check out head shoulders knuckles floor
14:36by lobby boxer
14:37yeah
14:38and then you should check out the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out of the album out
