Phillipa Soo chats with THR and dishes on her experience returning to 'Hamilton,' during the filmed version's premiere. Plus, she reflects on the "Alexander, come back to sleep" trend on TikTok saying, "keep them coming!"
00:02You all just celebrated the 10th anniversary show.
00:05What was it like stepping back on that stage?
00:08Oh, my gosh.
00:09It was amazing.
00:11It felt like home.
00:12It was really fun.
00:13I mean, we had the Tonys together, and that was really special.
00:15And then going back and seeing the show and honestly getting to see all my friends who have also played Eliza that, you know, I get to love and support their work as well.
00:26Danae, Hannah Cruz, like, it's a whole crew of phenomenal actors that I feel so lucky to be a part of that group.
00:33So it was great.
00:34A hundred percent.
00:34Well, I don't know if you've seen, but the Alexandra Come Back to Sleep line.
00:39I've seen it.
00:40I love it.
00:40Keep them coming.
00:41Let's get creative, people.
00:43The pets, the costumes.
00:45It's like it reminds me of when I was a kid and I would make home videos.
00:49And I just like anything I had, I was like, how can I tell a story?
00:53I feel like people are getting really creative.
00:54I'm really proud of everyone.
00:56I love it.
00:56It's hilarious.
00:57I watch every single one that I pass by.
00:58Yeah, it's bizarre.
00:59I'm like, I mean, 10 years later and finally this song hits, but okay.
01:02We'll take it.
01:03Is there a song or a lyric that people quote back to you the most?
01:08Oh, my God.
01:09Well, maybe I'm not throwing away my shot or the rumor happens I hear a lot.
01:14It's referenced a lot.
01:15I think it evokes certain things.
01:18Well, with the success of something like Wicked, does that make you all more open to doing a film adaptation of Hamilton?
01:25Or was that kind of always something that you guys wanted?
01:28I mean, this is the film adaptation.
01:31I mean, it's one of them potentially.
01:33Who knows?
01:33But I don't know.
01:34I'm not the one to decide that.
01:35We'll see.
01:36But if someone, you know, 100 years from now wanted to remake it, that'd be amazing.
01:41Yeah, for sure.
01:41Finally, is there a most memorable performance that you had of this production throughout your tenure?
01:47Oh, my God.
01:48Maybe the last one.
01:50It was just so emotional and really beautiful.
