Samson was a man chosen by God and blessed with extraordinary strength as long as he never cut his hair, a sign of his Nazirite vow. He became a judge of Israel and fought against the Philistines, their enemies. However, Samson fell in love with Delilah, a woman from the Valley of Sorek. The Philistine rulers bribed Delilah to discover the secret of his strength. After several attempts, she finally persuaded Samson to reveal that his power came from his uncut hair.

00:00Did you know Samson and Delilah's story might actually be real?
00:08See, Samson was a Nazarite chosen by God to be incredibly strong,
00:13but only as long as he didn't cut his hair.
00:17One day, Samson met Delilah, a beautiful woman from the valley of Sorik,
00:22and he fell in love.
00:24Not long after, the Philistine rulers approached Delilah
00:27and offered her a hefty bribe to find out Samson's secret.
00:32So she started asking him questions, and he lied,
00:36saying that he would lose his power if he was tied with fresh bowstrings.
00:41The Philistines tried this, but Samson easily broke free.
00:46She asked him again, and he told her that new ropes would make him weak.
00:51Again, he broke free.
00:52For the third time, she asked,
00:55And he said that weaving his hair into a loom would make him weak.
01:00So she did just that, but he still had all his strength.
01:04Delilah nagged him every day until he finally told her
01:08that his strength came from his uncut hair, a sign of his vow to God.
01:13That night, Delilah cut his hair while he was sleeping,
01:17and the Philistines came and took him away.
01:19They gouged out his eyes and imprisoned him.
01:23Though betrayed by Delilah,
01:25Samson prayed to God for one last burst of strength.
01:29And when he got it, he destroyed the Philistine temple,
01:33killing himself and many of his enemies.
