00:00The Story of Samson
00:03Long ago in Israel, there lived a man named Samson.
00:07Before his birth, an angel told his parents that Samson would be a Nazirite, set apart to serve God.
00:13As a sign of this promise, Samson's hair was never to be cut, and God gave him incredible strength.
00:19With this strength, Samson fought against the Philistines, enemies of Israel.
00:23He killed a lion with his bare hands, struck down a thousand men with the jawbone of a donkey,
00:28and carried the heavy gates of a city on his shoulders.
00:32Samson was a mighty warrior chosen by God.
00:35But Samson had a weakness. He trusted the wrong people.
00:39He fell in love with a woman named Delilah.
00:41The Philistines offered her money to discover the secret of his strength.
00:46After many attempts, Samson finally told her the truth.
00:49His strength was in his uncut hair.
00:52While he slept, Delilah cut his hair, and the Philistines captured him.
00:55They blinded Samson and put him in prison.
00:58Yet in his final moment, Samson prayed to God.
01:01His strength returned, and he pulled down the pillars of a great temple, destroying his enemies.
01:06And though he died, Samson fulfilled God's purpose in defeating the Philistines.
